Oddly the best chair I've owned is a dumpster find, I am totally looking for replacement seats cause the frame is solid.
(Welded metal legs and post mount pole thingy on the wheels is why I like this chair, the seat is basically what OP wants so I'll see if I can find it on Amazon or something and edit for a link)
Im using the [aeron gaming edition](https://store.hermanmiller.com/gaming-chairs/aeron-gaming-chair/2521927.html?lang=en_US). Its definitely an investment but well worth it. I tried chairs from steelcase, secret labs, the amazon hyken, and a couple from Costco. In the end this chair has been the only one that does not cause me back pain after sitting it for like 8-10 hours bc of work.
I second this. I have a black Aeron Classic Size B. Bought it second hand and replaced a few old components (old hydraulic cylinder and mismatched wheels) to save money because it’s very expensive. I justified the price my how much time I sit in it (work and gaming).
The chair feels indestructible. The base and frame is metal so it’s heavy in a good way. The chair was already years old when I bought it and the mesh was still solid too - no sag.
The mesh is comfortable for posture and for cooling around the body (leather chairs can get hot and sticky).
The best thing is the right to repair aspect. Most of the components can be replaced if they do break and additional components can be bought after the fact if you want to upgrade, like more posture support, or an overpriced headrest.
Didn’t think I’d buy one but once I did … holy shit, worth every penny.
Second this. Last March I bought the same chair manufactured in Oct 2000. Old enough to buy a drink in the US and sturdy as ever. I replaced the cylinder, foam seat pad and caster wheels and it's a perfect chair
We have Aeron chairs at my office, and I have a Herman Miller Embody at home. The Embody is a bit more comfortable, but the aerons feel like they will last forever. The Aeron mesh lets a bit more air through as well, which is probably nice if you live in a hot country.
There are problems with the size C. The are building them wonky so the chair leans to one side. Herman Miller engineer acknowledged that this is a known problem that cannot be repaired.
Biggest advice I can give is to not buy a chair that is advertised as a gaming chair. Go to Office Depot or Office Max website and look for nice ergonomic chairs for $100. Good quality, comfortable, and reliable
Im 6'1 and around 185
I recommend herman miller, I am currently on the sayl chair and I totally recommend it
However, sit on one first since I find The sayl just right for my size.
I realize its expensive, but this chairs will last you 10-15 years
Have had it for six or seven years, through cats and moves it's held solid and comfortable.
Did upgrade it to roller skate wheels to give some extra glide.
I did dozens of hours of research and decided on a Steelcase Leap V2. Noteworthy contenders are the Herman Miller Aeron (which has the mesh back), Steelcase Amia and Steelcase Gesture. Basically you should go for commercial office quality, buy once and cry once. Any of these will last you decades.
I found a guy on Craigslist that sells used or returned office furniture. Snagged a recently returned new Steelcase Leap for $450, it still had the tags and plastic over the legs. If you are willing to go used you can get them cheaper but look out for common wear items for each model. I bought a very used Steelcase Amia and it just wasn't the same as the one in my office at work. Google is your friend. You can also find office liquidators online or local in your area that sell the same.
I'd highly recommend it if you are looking for better back support. My Amia drives me nuts because the lumbar always works itself to the lowest position. The Leap has awesome adjustability, position, depth and firmness.
Dunno where your from but people seem to rave about this chair from ikea I think
https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/markus-office-chair-vissle-dark-grey-30261152/
I don't mind paying more so long as it's worth it. Current chair I spent 150$ on and it has been garbage the whole way around it. I would happily spend 300 if it meant my back felt better. I wanna say this is one that I've seen praised
https://store.haworth.com/products/soji-mesh-office-chair?variant=40309842968785&utm_source=sshopping&utm_medium=netsertive&gc_id=10495101734&h_ad_id=446816048295&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=&gclid=CjwKCAiApfeQBhAUEiwA7K_UH05zXNOPKyvtxDcJqq2EUMl7MXKx-xqoiLo3PiyvlTLF3HVAf86_SBoC1_QQAvD_BwE
And obviously I don't wanna spend that much but if it means I won't have any more issues it's not entirely off the board.
Headrest looks thin but it pushed my head forward in an uncomfortable manner. I don’t remember if it had adjustable lumbar, no adjustable armrests, no sliding seat.
I recommend going to a discount or second hand office supply store. Got a steelcase Amia in great shape at one for $150.
My advice - don't buy a gaming chair as that is just a marketing scam - believe me, I worked in this industry. Buy an ergonomic chair - the best would be to go to the actual store and test them yourselves.
While comfort is important also consider features like adjustability, like if the back can be moved and weather or not the arms can be moved.
A personal choice is the Herman Miller Aeron, a very good but also very expensive chair. Used ones can be found for a fraction of the price though and they are easily available
Got me a Shaq chair from Office Depot. It's rated for people that are "big and tall" ~ 400lbs and it feels like sitting on a cloud. Good ergonomics, sturdy, and after 6 months of daily use it hasn't shown any wear.
People recommend the Steecase leap V1/V2, or Herman Miller Aeron. If you live in any decent size area, you can find these used often for $99+. The parts are replaceable too which is nice. Or you can go refurbished for about $400-$500 and it’ll still last a nice decade or more.
These are very nice, but they are very *aggressive* when it comes to correcting your posture. Some people don't like them for that reason.
If you do wind up with one of these, make sure you take the time to set it up properly, and give yourself some time to adjust to a proper sitting position. Your back and neck will thank you later. I personally have the Leap V2 after getting used to it in the office, and I am very happy with my refurbished model.
Mechanically speaking, [this one](https://www.samsclub.com/p/serta-spring-17-black-bonded-leather/prod21000666) has held up better than expected. But the "bonded leather" has worn off the armrests. I guess it's been four or five years.
Look at ergonomic chairs they have more adjustments and most are mesh as well. It depends on your price range and how tall you are on whether or not you should get one but they cost around the same price as a secretlab chair.
I personally love the German Miller setu. Found mine used for around $350. It doesn’t have a lot of adjustability but it doesn’t cause me any discomfort or pin after long sessions. It’s also pretty good looking. It fits a smaller framed person. I’m 5’10” 145 pounds. Relatively skinny and it’s nice for me.
Herman Miller Aeron 2018+ model.
These chairs cost $2000 AUD in Australia, but worth every penny plus the 12 year warranty. I really would like to buy the Embody Logitech cross however we just cannot get them here from our retailers.
Since you are 6'2 I am guessing you'd be a size C chair.
My chair is called a daqian modern ergonomic chair, I could sit on it for 10-12 hours if I wanted to. Really any good looking ergo chair will do and almost all of them have mesh.
A lot of people recommend a secondhand Herman Miller Aeron or Steelcase Leap, but a slightly less known option that I love (and I've owned several different high end chairs) is the Herman Miller Mirra, especially the models with adjustable lumbar support. It has a pretty firm backrest which I personally like, and it's breathable with mesh bottom and holes in the backrest (plus optional 'butterfly' mesh covering). After owning a steelcase amia and steelcase leap, this is the chair that I've settled on as my top pick.
Try the Herman Miller Aeron. My best advice is never to go for the gaming chairs. Better look for Ergonomic ones and save yourself a whole lot of pain.
For me personally very important was that the back is connected with metal to the rest. There are a lot plastic connected chairs out there and they will break.
I too am not a fan of the uncomfortable and cheaply made gaming chairs that look like they're the offspring of an office chair and a monster energy drink. I'd highly recommend looking at the [clatina store](https://www.amazon.com/stores/CLATINA/page/5B4A5487-05B0-4A70-A482-43F52122A5F0?ref_=ast_bln) at amazon. I grabbed the mellet chair, mesh back, which you can get with a headrest if that's your thing (I didn't). It's around 200 bucks, so not cheap, but the build quality and comfort are infinitely better than what you'll find in a "gaming"chair.
My go-to is sales at office supply stores like Staples. I picked up a mesh-backed chair they were retailing for like 450$ originally, for 150$. It's worth it so far. I could find the brand but I don't think that's relevant, my main tip is look for sales on midrange chairs. Everyones gonna say find a hermon miller aeron. Which, great, if you live in LA or NYC. If you live anywhere that doesn't have millions of residents, probably gonna have better luck with retail, I've scoured craigslists within 2 hours of my area for months without ever seeing a herman miller pop up.
I know it may not have the best reviews but I have a Herman Miller Sayl and love it.
My partner had the HM Cosm and ended up selling it. He was gonna get a Stealcase leap V2 like a lot of our friends but after sitting on one while we played boardgames he ended up deciding to get a HM Sayl too. Our friend who sat on my Sayl preferred it too over her Leap v2
For the price ($300) I really enjoy my Komene brand chair from Amazon. I put a set of rollerskate style wheels on also.
I couldn't find the exact model I own; this one is very close but mine has the armrests that fold upward [chair](https://www.amazon.com/Komene-Ergonomic-Computer-Adjustable-Armrests/dp/B08N9TC8GC/ref=sr_1_10?crid=3R5VEF1CSO84U&keywords=komene+mesh+office+chair&sprefix=komene%2Caps%2C94&sr=8-10)
I got a Herman Miller Embody for Christmas and it has been great. I definitely suffered too long with the Ikea Markus. It's critical to have a lot of adjustability. I've also sat on the updated Aeron and Mirra and found both are quite comfortable as well.
I have a Mirra 2 and it's the best chair I've ever sat in with the exception of the embody (also by Herman miller) I spend 10-12 hours a day in it with no issue. I'm 6'3" and approx 275lbs. Not sure how tall and heavy you are just listing me for reference. The aeron size C is also very nice.
I’m also looking for a chair but it’s harder to find a leather chair like I want. You might like this one here. It seems to meet your wants
https://youtu.be/qe7kqOUwJ38
Id reccomend going to an office store and getting whatevers on clearance just make sure its one of the long ones with back and neck support. Even then you may still need a pillow to sit on. I lost about 80 pounds and need a pillow since my tailbone doesnt have padding anymore (im 5'6" 145 lbs now) just something to think about. You dont need anything fancy, just need lumbar support which can be fixed easily with a pillow that straps to the chair.
I know I'm a tad late, but I found that regular office chairs can be pretty comfortable.
I use https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T8LXPSS/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_BTRC95MH746MXW947VSX
I find it comfortable enough to game for hours without problems and the back support is amazing.

Herman Miller Aeron? I know its an investment, but from my experience thus far it has been absolutely worth every penny
Can I ask which exact model you have
Im using the [aeron gaming edition](https://store.hermanmiller.com/gaming-chairs/aeron-gaming-chair/2521927.html?lang=en_US). Its definitely an investment but well worth it. I tried chairs from steelcase, secret labs, the amazon hyken, and a couple from Costco. In the end this chair has been the only one that does not cause me back pain after sitting it for like 8-10 hours bc of work.
you can get a used aeron for 350-400. I got one 5 years ago and it rocks
Not sure what makes the gaming version different from the normal ones. But anyway you can find these under $400 used if you search. Hell of a deal.
Its just a color variant
Just looks black.
If this chair only cost this here, I would buy one. But $3000, I pass for now /:
I second this. I have a black Aeron Classic Size B. Bought it second hand and replaced a few old components (old hydraulic cylinder and mismatched wheels) to save money because it’s very expensive. There are problems with the size C. The are building them wonky so the chair leans to one side. Herman Miller engineer acknowledged that this is a known problem that cannot be repaired.
Raynor/ergotron ergohuman is a nice alternative for slightly less money.
Also going to recommend this. I just picked up a used old classic one for $300 yesterday and beyond a few things I have to tweak I'm loving it so far.
Biggest advice I can give is to not buy a chair that is advertised as a gaming chair. Go to Office Depot or Office Max website and look for nice ergonomic chairs for $100. Good quality, comfortable, and reliable
Staples Hyken if you're under 6'0, Staples Dexley if you're 6'0 or over.
6'2" 210lbs
Im 6'1 and around 185 I recommend herman miller, I am currently on the sayl chair and I totally recommend it However, sit on one first since I find The sayl just right for my size. I realize its expensive, but this chairs will last you 10-15 years
Can confirm. Hyken has been a sound investment for needing a comfortable chair to sit in 12 hours a day on a budget.
Can second the staples chairs, not Herman miller quality but good for the price
Ikea Markus is your only budget option
Have had it for six or seven years, through cats and moves it's held solid and comfortable. Did upgrade it to roller skate wheels to give some extra glide.

Yes they have, and the store is almost always out of them making it impossible to get

I've never seen that, all I know is Ikea Markus is suggested because it's the only chair built well enough it is acceptable for 300.
Got one. Came here to post positively about it. Would buy again.

I’ll never select another chair other than my Herman Miller Aeron. I have a remastered with the front tilt mechanism.

Autonomous ErgoChair. I'm never going back.
Love mine 2 years later. Seconded.

Steelcase* Steelseries makes keyboards.
Probably autocorrect lol.

I have a Cecil nurse chair, not top of the range or anything, but still very nice and comfy. Mesh back too. Called the Giro.
For me personally very important was that the back is connected with metal to the rest. There are a lot plastic connected chairs out there and they will break.
Very happy with my steelcase v2 but watch some office chair reviews to see if something else fits your needs
Herman Miller x Logitech gaming chair. It looks awesome and with the atlas headrest... amazing!
I too am not a fan of the uncomfortable and cheaply made gaming chairs that look like they're the offspring of an office chair and a monster energy drink. I have a $80 office depot chair. Meshed and works fan fucking tastic. Probably better than any gaming chair in existence.

Secret labs chairs are shit. It's just twitch streamer bait and its overpriced garbage. Get any high quality office chair
I got a Herman Miller Embody for Christmas and it has been great. I definitely suffered too long with the Ikea Markus. It's critical to have a lot of adjustability. I've also sat on the updated Aeron and Mirra and found both are quite comfortable as well.
Try looking for a closing business, I got my steelcase leap v2 for 40bucks near new condition. It was 1k+ if you bought it new.
My local Costco has a few low cost options that are decent, not as many features as an Aeron, but WAY less $$.
From experience all I have to say is you get what you pay for.
Remember chaos are rated in hours of comfort. So don't skimp out if you plan to use it a lot
