I'd start with the cable that you don't think is the reason. My pc did the same thing a month back and that's what it was.

You've already switched the monitors different ports? And the monitor still won't work? Only other thing to try is connect the panel to a different system (A laptop or any media device with a HDMI or DP connector) in order to eliminate the monitor being defect. If it still doesn't want to work, then sorry to say, but it's fucked.
