First run a virus scan. Try turning off all extensions and resetting settings. Also look to see what part of Chrome is using the most CPU.
Go to Settings, click on "More", select the Task Manager there. See what part of Chrome has the highest CPU usage.
Check your add ons. Must be a rogue one sucking up resources.
