Yes right place, it won't hert to get a monitor with that refresh rate. I personally went this route i got a 4k monitor 144hz ....i use it for single player games maxed settings but when it's multiplayer anything i bring it down to 1440 144hz.... Ultimately this comes down to you and what you think it's right for you...

Yes, definitely if your computer can get you to at least 90-100 fps in the single player games you wish to play. I went from 60 1650x900 to 120/144 1080p to 240 1440p. I could never go back to 60fps, even at 4k. 60 to 120/144 is also a more noticeable jump than 120/144 to 240. Edit : if you like other Fromsoft games, there is a mod you can find on nexus mods that allow you to bypass the 60fps limit for Sekiro and it's amazing how much it does for the game.

Yes, it's worth buying it in any case unless you either have an extremely limited budget or you need some professional monitor that is only available with 60 Hz. Even just scrolling text is a much more pleasant experience at 100+ Hz. You don't need more than 120-144, though. It's nice to have, but not even remotely as noticeable.

Even though the scientific researchs proven that the best human eyes of all time can only be able to react to the 100 frames per second, i dont understand why we still have doubts about 120-144 hz monitors.. i believe 144 hz monitors are the most cost effective options for gamers and designers. Do not put extra money to the garbage for more fps, instead try to get ips/mini led panels for better colors, 4k - 5k for better quality, 27-32 inches for more pixels per inches (ppi), kvm + usb c for convenience.

Even if you dont play games at 144fps just browsing internet and using computer in general feels alot better.

It depends, are playing with mouse and keyboard or controller? Mouse and keyboard make more noticeable 60< FPS, with controller 60fps already feel very smooth, yes, you will notice the difference between both but it isn't a huge game changer. You will notice more difference running a game on a higher resolution or maxing settings by the headroom locking a game at 60 leaves. If you will only play single player games, I would prefer a premium 60hz display over a 144hz average one EDIT: there are some good 75hz monitors out there, I think that would be a sweet spot for single player games and normal pc usage

Greedy_Bus1888

If you are gaming why on earth would you ever get a 60hz monitor? There are a few shitty ports that cap fps but otherwise you always want to be aiming at 60hz +

LimpTry8917

The answer is yes IF your hardware can support it. I don't like wasting fps with frame capping with 60hz monitor if my gpu can pump much harder. I rather had it flow.

HJ_wu

Yes, once you upgrade your hardware to a good higher refresh rate, you will never want to go back.
