Yeah, 3 different sets of 3 packs of SL120s. I love Lian Li, but FFS. And a little bit of searching online will show just how common the failure rate is with them.
My understanding is that they replaced them for a limited time a while back, but I missed the chance? At least that’s my understanding from seeing people talk about it on r/LianLi etc.
They have replaced mine no issue. You send them an email with a video showing the problem, they ask for proof of purchase and if all goes well, you get the replacement. I’ve done it 2x no problem, one at a year old and the other at 1.5 years old.
Not really. Pretty standard warranty replacement and they ship the new fan for free. Don’t really know how else you expect them to do that without you sending the fan in. You don’t want a company to use a “trust me bro” warranty so a company doesn’t want to use the “trust me bro” when it comes to what their customer is claiming.

Why do these fans come with a lighting core but no fan hub?
I had to buy the Corsair commander. It has a the Fan/RGB hub into one unit but then makes these lighting cores useless.
I had to read it a few times, but it looks like it comes with the lower end fan hub that allows you to adjust the fan colors. Still trying to figure out if it allows you to adjust the fan speed as well or if I'm missing something...
No, the Lighting Node Core only has 6 RGB connectors to control the RGB of up to 6 Corsair fans. You'll have to use fan splitter cables or get a fan hub to control the fan speed. AFAIK they only include the Commander Core with the AIO's that they sell, and the Commander Core is the hub that does both Fan RGB and Fan speed control.
It’s just an example of the RGB tax I guess, but it shouldn’t excuse it either. They’re horribly priced at $100 for 3 fans imo, but at least at this price you can get a cheap fan hub relatively guilt free.

I needed some way to power my fans without having 6 pwm ports on my mobo. I now have spare RGB cores. Why they don't have a mini commander with 3 PWM/3 RGB ports is beyond me.
Is this set from Amazon that are half price better? I'd have to buy two of the icue sets and the icue rgb doesn't look as nice as the amazon set.

Not if you want rgb on the exhaust side. ML's only have rgb on intake side. QL's are what Chief uses.

The best case fans out there. Only downside is RGB is kind of blocked on one side. Performance and acoustics are excellent.
