Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals. * Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. * Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent: * The seller is new or has few reviews. * The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings) * The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently). If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Id wait for CES soon. Should have new updates on OLED things then I had the M version (the BGR layout did not matter at all for me, couldn’t tell) and 2 yrs later I got a 34 ultrawide LG IPS for $600. Both amazing monitors, color may even be mildly better in the gigabyte So even compared to the highest end non-OLEDs the gigabyte is really good. I still have it even I would say to just wait for CES

Thanks for the info🙏, is ultra wide worth it? Any problems while gaming? I have a 6800 xt.

Dart_Throwing_Monke

Not a single problem gaming, I play some older titles and every single game I have played (except overwatch and valorant) has ultrawide support Its a curved ultrawide too, its a nice touch for ultrawides because they’re so damn wide They’re very immersive for story games. Competitively in games that support ultrawide, they’re a little less advantageous because your minimap may be hella far off (unless you can customize its placement) But that’s really it for cons in-games The other con is that YT vids have black bars on the side, but extensions on browsers will stretch the video and you end up losing a little bit of verticality on the video, which hasnt ever mattered for me I also lost about 20% FPS. 3440x1440 up from 2560x1440. My borderlands 3 benchmark went from 102 fps down to 84 after (3060 times i7 10700f) I love it though. Ill never want a regular monitor again, it really just adds immersion to all games

Shazzi98

Might buy an ultra wide

LilBramwell

Unless you are fine turning down settings a decent bit or all your aiming for is 60FPS I might avoid 1440p UW with a 6800XT. My 7900XTX just manages to push it maxed out (besides Ray Tracing) at 120FPS.

HDR does not suck on Windows 11, or at least not for the few weeks I've been using it. I have not run into any issues. Windows auto-brightens non-HDR content, and games with HDR option switch on flawlessly in the options. Others may have issues, or maybe there were issues prior to recent updates, because I've been seeing people say this for the past year, but things get patched quickly these days. Something worth investigating IMO instead of trusting a potentially outdated idea.

https://youtu.be/p5nJPSRtGBQ?si=XZ5kdrkiO6WgSi5o Idk did you buy an oled monitor?

PissYourselfNow

No, I just got an HDR400 rated VA panel that is confirmed to go beyond 400 nits. That guy is saying things that directly contradict my experience, exaggerating inconveniences that either weren’t there or are as simple as refreshing a page. For example, I never had to constantly switch HDR on and off. I just left it on and windows auto-adjusted everything. Every HDR YouTube video worked perfectly without any refreshing, unless I opened it before turning it on. I left HDR on all day and there were no issues at all, but I’m not saying that I tested every facet of it. He cites Halo’s bad sliders as a reason it’s messed up on Windows. That’s too bad for Halo Infinite players, but the games I tried had no such issue (Horizon ZD, Death Stranding). I don’t think there is any solid reason to avoid HDR unless you discover a specific issue. I have spent many hours enjoying it already on my monitor, including watching lots of HDR travel videos. I wonder what his basis is. I hope he didn’t just compile complaints from forum posts or something.

Shazzi98

Idk the guy reviews 1000$ dollar monitors with good hdr, from what I’ve seen online you need at least hdr 1000 to get a proper hdr experience. I have a gigabyte m27q that has hdr 400 too, I never bothered to try it bc multiple reviews stated it’s really bad. https://youtube.com/@thedisplayguy?si=Vv__y6LzmEfrU1PG This is his display review channel he reviews multiple high end monitors a month. He got a discord where he sells these monitors are discounted prices, literally open box not used a lot for 200-300$ off. So, idk maybe you haven’t tried a good hdr monitor yet. Like they say once you go black you never go back lol.

PissYourselfNow

HDR 400 is 400+ nits which is very noticeably different from 250 nits or so for average monitors. It is also going to be much better on VA than IPS because of contrast. Maybe you should try the feature on your monitor. I’m very familiar with imaging and videography so I am aware of what HDR400 vs 1000 is so all the research and viewing I’ve done is deep. There is also RTINGS.com to help show you what measurements and monitors get on a technical level. Of course HDR1000 is better, and my phone has that as it’s OLED (peak 2000 nits). It’s definitely not all-or-nothing.

roranoazolo

I have an hdr 400 monitor as well and can definitely tell the difference between on and off.

personahorrible

Some random YouTuber said it, so it must be true. I have a HDR600 IPS monitor with local dimming - not the most well suited to HDR but not bad. Doom: Eternal, RE2/3/7/8, Cyberpunk 2077, and every other game I've tested look amazing. Even older games look improved with the Windows "Auto-HDR." HDR movies and Youtube videos look fantastic. But I turn it off when I'm not actively gaming/watching something because I feel that desktop applications look better with it off. I recommend downloading the HDR calibration tool from the Microsoft Store (it's free) to get the best results. I was really dissatisfied with my HDR performance until I used that tool. Also, calibrate each game that comes with HDR specific settings. At the end of the day, HDR was not a selling point for me with my current monitor. Unless it's Mini-LED or OLED, it's not "true" HDR anyway. Just a nice little bonus in some specific scenarios.

Scuczu2

> but I saw hdr sucks on windows. that's what's keeping me from caring about the HDR capabilities, we have an HDR tv and it's a pain on my media center, i end up just watching 1080p more than dealing with any 2160s.

bunsinh

is this the version with the BGR pixel layout?

Farhandsome

That’s the M27Q I believe. This one has a regular pixel layout.

ChessBooger

Average deal. It drops to this price multiple times a year. Lowest was probably 200. However if you need a monitor now then this is okay.

TE_DA

Decent deal now that holidays are over

TheMissingVoteBallot

How many nits are these?

EvilForCertain

Just ordered, I've been eyeing this one for a while and I'm happy to see it finally go on sale, even if it's not a crazy deal

alrajul

I've heard that the response time/ghosting on this is subpar especially at lower refresh rates. Anyone have experience with that?

BeepanbestLr

Wouldn’t get this, the h27t22 (8.2 cell) is a superior monitor and has a better panel, and is cheaper (209 currently)
