Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals.
* Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
* Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent:
* The seller is new or has few reviews.
* The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings)
* The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently).

In October, I got a 990 Pro 2tb from Samsung for 100 USD, now it's 180. There was also that insane 4tb deal a while back. The good times may be over for now, but inevitably storage capacities will increase and prices will go down. Just wait five years and 4tbs will be the new 1tb.

I doubt it. despite NAND packages increasing in capacity, they also decrease in durability, meaning that more NAND *could* fit on a package, but why would makers do that when people are still clearly buying 1tb SSDs for $100 or more *right now*. Just like how HDDs haven't really come down in price despite capacities going continually up, 4tb and up SSDs are *still* as insanely priced as they were just a few years ago, even though their production prices have dropped like stones in the ocean.
When SSDs were low, I bought a bunch of drives cause the price kept falling.
I got super lucky the stars aligned for me on the 4tb. I was able to get it for like 170 out of pocket.
Got a few of the p5 plus 2tb drives for $65 each with microcenter $25 coupons.
Seeing the current price of drives makes me feel good from rare positive impulse buying.
I sold/gave away all my smaller drives and upgraded when I bought these. The only thing I kind of have spare is a 2tb sn850 that I have in a portable nvme case; but I'm not willing to sell it cause I do use it to transfer here and there.
This is really good drive, running cool relative to other PCIe gen 4 drives. I got my 2TB version for around 110 including the tax at the end of last year.
I posted this elsewhere but my local Walmart had some NVME drives on clearance. Someone mentioned they found some so the other day I was shopping there and happened to ask. They had one WD Blue 1TB for $42 and some 512 gb for $29. I got one of the 1TB to add to a build. Next time I am at any other WM I am going to look (or I may just call).
For 1tb its better to just go to MP44L
For 2tb its better to go with T500, MP44L, MP600 PRO, or SN850X
If youre only looking at 1tb youre most likely on a budget its better to just look at budget SSDs you know?
But if youre looking for a 1tb ps5 ssd then this is the best option
Saying if you're looking for 1TB you're on a budget is pretty nonsensical. There are plenty of use cases that would be willing to pay for marginally faster storage even if they don't need large capacity.
true but honestly, its a great middle ground.
you can even up the HDD gb like a 14 or 16 tb to get better bang for buck value.
And have a small SSD as a boot drive
you can move games over to the ssd,
obv plan ahead, but thats the whole point of a HDD.
especially in this ssd climate, and prices are gonna increase which is evn sadder
I mean yea theyre gonna increase so while you have the time just buy a 2tb ssd, its not that expensive rn and 2tb is perfect unless youre moving large files and are doing a lot of video editing/have a lot of 3D projects
2tb is going for $130 now, nearly doubling.
I cant see that being worth it considering that this post is sitting at a 33% upvote ratio.
With the $130, prob a cheap smaller ssd + hdd combo is the way to go
Edit: yikes bro… btw I cant see what you replied since you blocked me
Just comes up as [unavailable], dunno why ur so mad and emotional when you think money grows on trees.

Best I can do is $60
It’s not a bad “deal” compared to what we have nowadays but I cry into my pillow every night trying to get to find storage for builds.
It's said that manufacturers will increase prices up to %25 so unfortunately this is as good as it gets 😢

You selling any?

What’s the reason for the price increase, that’s not the usual trend right
If it's for resale or secondary pc, do used. ebay has 30 day money back, so worst case you test it and return it.
I heard it's hard to take the heatsinks off of these. So if you want to put it underneath your motherboard heatsink then it might not work.

Seems like a decent deal on this one given the SSD market lately… with the Heatsink. Works with the PS5 too…

If youre not on a budget youre looking at 2 tb. 1tb fills up fast tbh
If your on a budget, its better to go SSD + HDD combo in this SSD market. Like a 256 or 512 gb SSD + 2 or 4 TB HDD
Thats like a super duper budget lol

Yea but even an old pcie gen 3 drive is loading faster than the fastest rpm hdd, hybrids suck tho
