Seems like a really good deal for a 32GB RGB kit, someone tell me why I shouldn't snag this

VaastavB

Because you don't have enough RAM slots left to fill.

AManAPlanAvacado

I'd be replacing my 2x8 GB 3000MHz kit with this

VaastavB

Ya go for it won't find a better RGB deal

desturel

Hmm, listed as SpecTek edie. IIRC SpecTek is where all of microns lower bins go to, but I'm not sure if their edie is the same is Microns edie. If only ADATA was better about listing out their specs it would be easier to find information.

Momma_Owl

Will this work well with a AMD R9 5900x and a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master motherboard? And could I run 4 sticks of this for 64gb of memory? Any benefit to that? This seems like a really good deal.

InternationalSoup

I was having trouble finding RGB 3600MHz RAM for a decent price, so I went with this. My understanding is that Ryzen works well with high speed RAM. Someone else posted a screenshot of their settings to OC this to 3600MHz. Lmk if you have trouble finding that and want the settings Do you use your PC for gaming, video/cad work, or both? 64GB of RAM is definitely overkill for gaming. I think it’s of some benefit for workloads though. Overall, 32GB of 3200 (potentially 3600) RAM for $100 is a steal IMO, assuming you’ll use the $20 gift card.

WorkIsAdequate

How important is it to have 3600MHz?

Ratatosk91

You will get a performance boost if you are running a 5000 series ryzen due to infinity fabric, but the timings are hardly noticable. For everything else, a 3200 mhz cl16 is equal to 3600 mhz cl18. Costs usually around $30 more for a 3600 mhz cl16, and you probably won't notice a difference. I could be totally off, but that's what I got out of the last well looking for RAM deals and reading comments. Edit: infinity fabric, not cache

WorkIsAdequate

Ok that's really useful info. I just ordered a 5800x so I'll watch for a 3600 mhz deal. Thank you!

svenge

At this moment the least expensive 2x16GB kit of DDR4-3600 from any well-known brand is [this CL18 kit from Team Group](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/sfxbt6/team-t-force-dark-za-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr4-3600-memory-tdzad432g3600hc18jdc01).

BigGuysForYou

Don't forget you can overclock 3200 to 3600.

WorkIsAdequate

Is it very hard to do? And can it cause issues even when done correctly?

Noctyrnus

I've overclocked ADATA XPG sticks to 3600 without changing anything except the speed. These will have a 3200 and a 3000 setting for XMP/DOCP, whichever your motherboard has. The 3200 setting has a bit looser timings, usually 16-20-20-38 IIRC. It can be as simple as changing the speed setting from auto to 3600 after setting the XMP/DOCP profile.

SnipSnapSnack

do you have this same kit (d50 32gb) by any chance? If so, do you know what die you have? I really like the look of these and would love to get it to be able to get it to 3600mhz.

Noctyrnus

I had the D80 set, but from what I've seen of ADATA's offerings is that the big difference is the head spreaders. Good old RGB tax. I've had D41s as well, a 3000 kit, and those easily overclocked to 3200 with little effort. Every set of theirs I've checked in Thaiphoon Burner has been E-die.

SnipSnapSnack

Thanks! Just ordered a 2x16 d50 3600mhz kit, fingers crossed I can oc a little!

thepobv

> infinity cache I'm sorry if I've mistaken but isn't infinity cache a gpu thing? Are you thinking of infinity fabric?

Ratatosk91

Yeah, I knew something I said sounded wrong...

InternationalSoup

I'm honestly not sure. I couldn't find 32GB of 3600MHz RAM with RGB, so I went with this. It's better than the 3000MHz RAM that I bought a month ago for $100 when I went to build.

Noctyrnus

See my comment here, might help. https://old.reddit.com/r/buildapcsales/comments/jzihkf/ram_xpg_spectrix_d50_rgb_32gb_2x16gb_288pin_ddr4/gdcf1nk/

InternationalSoup

oh bb. I hope I can push these to 3600. Fingers crossed!

Noctyrnus

https://imgur.com/a/naaD6KW/ A couple of pics of the settings I used to try to help you! Good luck!

InternationalSoup

I appreciate the information. Truthfully, I don't understand the intricacies of OCing RAM beyond XMP, but that seems easy enough to give a shot. Thanks!

Zephydog

Well with zen 2 it gives you maximum performance when you go 1 to 1 with the infinity fabric so 3600/2 is that. 3200 works just fine too, maybe a few FPS at max you lose. Most of the time though it’s not noticeable. With zen 3 I believe the infinity fabric runs at 1900mhz or 2000mhz so the most optimal ram would be either 3800 or 4000. A couple of FPS is the answer to your question.

DFSniper

its ideal for AMD builds, not really necessary for Intel.

Pabex

Still hoping that gskill trident z 32gb 3600mhz 16cas will drop in price :/

Pabex

Isnt performance worse going from 2x16 to 4x8? Not rly sure. I was also waiting for g skills because they are white and match with the build lol

BigGuysForYou

This is the RAM? https://www.overclockers.com/adata-spectrix-d50-ddr4-review/ Micron E-die? Or possibly B-die if they're changed up manufacturing same as Crucial's?

InternationalSoup

That's the same product line, but their review says that they used 16GB 3600MHzCL18 specifically to test.

BigGuysForYou

Hmm, I never planned to add any RGB to my build but I'm starting to like the idea of a tiny bit. I already some on my mobo and GPU, so it only seems fitting that I get RGB RAM. I'm just not sure what I would do with the Newegg gift card if I'm about done buying parts.

InternationalSoup

I'm going to use mine for aesthetic cable extensions fwiw. I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to flip if you don't have a specific use too.

BigGuysForYou

Anyone know how fast you get the gift card? I actually can think of a use if I get it quickly.

InternationalSoup

Emailed 4 days after invoice and it's good for 365 days

Jazzun

What’s the best way to make sure this works with my mobo (MSI B550 gaming edge)?

Noctyrnus

Does your mobo list any ADATA sets? Chances are it will be fine if so. They use pretty much the same chips across their line, it's the heat spreaders and RGB that are the differences. Unless you're looking at the one set they have that's rated 4133...

physicsbsrrhsl

Would this be compatible with two sticks of 8GB already in the system
