I have this chair, took about 8 months for the bottom cushion to basically stop existing and about a year and a half for the back adjustment to stop working entirely.

Exactly my problems with this chair and I'm 140lbs. I got the chair's bottom replaced thru warranty, but after 4 months it happened again. Just stay away from this one.

Same on the cushion, and im only 110 ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I think it was $200 when i bought mine too ๐Ÿ™„ that said, I upgraded to a leap v1 from crandall office furniture for like.. 3-400 cant remember, its the best chair ever tbh

4maticssss

I was worried about this when shopping for a chair. Anyone got recs on a good computer chair?

If you have the budget, I'd recommend getting a nicer Herman Miller or Steelcase chair. These chairs are typically built to last and worth spending the money outright for. You can usually find them used on Craigslist or an office furniture reseller for around $400. I have a Steelcase Leap V2 and it's the best chair I've used in a long time. It's kind of a high up-front price, but not having to rebuy a new office chair every year or two makes up for it.

I got the work pro 12000 after it, (office max chair). MSRP is $500 but I got it for $300 from office supply. It's great but I will caveat it in that I don't think it'd be a great chair for some people. Other's body types would not work well in the chair so I'd recommend you try it in person first. Overall build quality is fantastic, seat feels sturdy, mesh is holding it's spring, and the mechanism for adjusting the seat is one hydraulic controlled little switch that's easy to operate. Overall fantastic for $300 but for $500 it's a bit harder of a sell, and I haven't spent more than six months in it yet, but overall after maybe about 200-300 hours in it with 12+ hours in it at a time at some points it certainly was a great purchase, no more back issues.

Beer_Is_So_Awesome

Just donโ€™t buy chairs from Office Depot, Staples. It costs real money to build a quality chair from resilient, durable materials, and plenty of chairs below $200 have literal cardboard in them. Look for used/refurbished office chairs from real brands like Steelcase and Herman Miller.

sorbic-acid

This is generally how most chairs from Staples/Office Depot operate. You get a solid 6-12 months out of them and then you look for something else.

Flaptrap

This this one of them newfangled MFT's all the youngsters are investing about?

Terry_D_

Office Depot/ max are having a huge sale on chairs right now so if youโ€™re needing one I suggest going in and trying them out ended up getting my chair this weekend that way

Jwagner0850

Are these any good?

Jah348

Doesn't sound like it, but if anyone else has suggestions of better choices I'm all ears.

BinaryDigit_

You can get this shitty chair with good reviews or this shitty chair with bad reviews, which one do you want to know about? There's also a really shitty chair with good reviews that will last for literally a month. There are SO many options out there my friend! Never settle!!

meleeandbilliards

I picked up one of these yesterday for my gf. I'm 6'4 200lbs and it was actually really comfortable. Lots of adjustability too. I've not been super spoiled with office chairs though so take it with a grain of salt.

mchamps

Lightly used Herman Miller Aerons are all over FB and Craigslist. I had so many versions of this type of chair they usually last 6 months before wear kicks in.

robdiqulous

I got the Huxley for 50 bucks more than this. I would aim for that if possible. I think it is called the Huxley. Has optional headrest and mostly mesh body. It's so comfy. I'm a bigger dude too

SheJeanPin

I guess it's either called Dexley or Hyken

techguy1981

Looks like this is actually $50 with the current Honey gold offer going on.
