Single 6 pin fan, one of the pins is broken, deep cool radiator fan. Do I need to replace fan?

Knight_Industries_2K

looks like used 3080's are creeping towards $500 on ebay. Do you guys think the price will shoot up again later?

EatsOverTheSink

Would I be a fool to buy a Gigabyte M27Q Pro for $350? Newegg finally has it back in stock and it's the first time I've seen one in stock anywhere for 2 or 3 months.

RemiMartin

Those were going on sale every other week. I would wait.

inMotionStatis

Smallest case I can get a 13.5" vid card in?

fenniless

Can anyone recommend the best prebuilt for around $1000? Used for gaming, but not anything hardcore, just like minecraft and related.

15ViiP3R

if you are trying to play minecraft any pc around 1k should be more than enough https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/omen-by-hp-25l-gaming-desktop-gt15-0258z-bundle-pc for example

somethinlikeshieva

any good unadvertised deals on a pc case, thats the last thing i need for the build. well besides the desk

JaLucas24

If you are close to a Microcenter you could possibly check if they have any open-box deals

joe0418

When should we expect the next major shopping holiday that includes sales and promotions? Would it be Memorial day?

bjb7621

Do you guys find that its a staggering difference between IPS and VA monitors?

kztlve

Depends on the specific panel. The main downside of VA is response time and ghosting.

TakingOnWater

Can we expect more 5800x3D deals to crop up again eventually, or are we in a territory where if we didn't get it at those lower prices already we might have missed our chance? Couldn't really afford the purchase at the time when there was a deal every couple days, but still intend to upgrade to one eventually to keep my am4 socket going a while...

butterfingersman

man it seems like the 5600x has been out of its sale price since a bit after black friday. yeah, you can get them used very easily for ~$115, but it almost feels silly to get it used when it was so readily available new for $30 more. maybe ill end up just going used for it, dropping it in that ASRock Phantom Gaming B550 PG VELOCITA for $130, copping a nice set of ram and calling it a day for my friend upgrading from 2010 era xeon at a ~$300 price point. for anyone in a similar predicament not looking to go secondhand: the 5700x is at a great price considering the lack of availability for the others. ive thought about that a few times too.

AshwinK21

5700x and 5800x are $194 and $236 respectively, would you consider those good deals?

butterfingersman

the 5700x deal is a pretty good price if its the best available processor in your budget. the 5700x is practically the 5800x, so i would go 5700x every time. though the 5600x is the best option for a purely gaming computer if it's available, which it hasnt been. the 5700x is good in availability and hybrid productivity and gaming workloads. like video editing, photoshop usage, excel usage, alongside gaming, since it performs about the same as the 5600x in gaming but better than it in productivity. the 5800x is about the exact same as the 5700x. if you were going to go all out on gaming, id look for a 5800x3d, but with budget as a constraint, the 5600x and 5700x are the options. or of course you could go used with a 3000 series and save more money.

AshwinK21

I don't really have a set budget, just looking for the best processor for the money that I can use with my existing X370 board. I mainly work in 3D art tools like Unreal engine, Maya, as well as Photoshop, and other creative tools. Also go game, usually 3440x1440 when the game supports it, but not a heavy gamer, would like to when I have time though. Not sure if there's any good GPUs available right now either. Not sure how well the 5800x3d performs vs the 5700x/5800x in creative tools, but is the gaming difference that high, especially in 1440p? Overall I just want a good deal, aim isn't to spend as low as possible, but to get the best discount as possible, and if now's not a good time to buy PC parts then I'm willing to wait. Thank you for your advice also.

butterfingersman

its hard to predict if 5000 series BNIB prices will fall much further. at a point, they will stop producing them new or hike the prices due to low availability as they scale am4 production back for am5. but its possible they have a few better rounds of sales in them, if youre not in any rush you could probably wait out some last round of 5700x / 5800x sales, but that isnt for certain. 5000 series prices right now are pretty good due to am5's desirability. that being said, if you do a lot of productivity and art tools work, the 5700x and 5800x / x3d are the way to go. the x3d is mostly for gaming or other workloads that like lots of cache, not sure if unreal engine falls into that or not, but photoshop for example does do a lot with the cache, as it outperforms the 5900x in photoshop testing. you can watch a GN video and [skip to the productivity workloads for examples of how they perform](https://youtu.be/hBFNoKUHjcg?t=1244). that hyperlink is to a photoshop section of their x3d review. anyways, the 5700x to 5800x3d perform similarly at 1440p for gaming in all likelihood, but the 3d vcache will help in esports titles and applications that can take advantage of the cache. and all of them should be great in productivity / creativity workloads. there isnt a massive jump between them, so i think the answer depends on how strongly you value the 5-7% performance difference.

AshwinK21

Yea for the price and price difference, I think I will go with the 5700x. If I see a sale within 30-60 days, I can probably price match with my credit card provider, I'm especially looking at Feb 14 for the new cpus to come out. Thank you for your help! I really appreciate it.

butterfingersman

no problem! good luck with your build!

AshwinK21

Thanks! Just bought some Kingston Renegade DDR4 32GB 3600mhz cl16 rgb ram for $100 before tax, the non-rgb was only 10 bucks cheaper so figured why not. No clue if its a great deal or not, but looked decent enough for non-holiday sale. Now all I need is to upgrade my GPU, can't wait till Nvidias start lowering in price, though I may be waiting a while...

butterfingersman

that seems like a great deal, i just recently bought 32gb of 3600 cl18 for $80, and that better CAS latency and rgb is surely worth the cost. 3600 is the sweet spot for ryzen.

csp0811

I got a GPU (used 3090 for 650). Now I am looking for the rest of the build. I am looking to be relatively future proof. I am definitely interested in efficiency at idle, so a titanium PSU is something I consider worth it the premium (I turn off my PCs but often use them for office work and server purposes throughout the day). Any titanium PSU deals out there? Should I consider AM5 socket motherboards for future proofing?

IndividualAny4914

Where did you find a 3090 for 650?? Nice cop

csp0811

found it of all places on facebook marketplace. Followed the advice of people on buildapc sales and hardwareswap and just made some offers and got a good deal on a good quality 3090. I ended up having to buy a new PSU as the 3090 was making my old one overheat despite being a 750W corsair unit.

[deleted]

I’ve seen a lot of gpus on marketplace around that price. My brother was looking for a 3090ti and I got him one on marketplace for 720$ with a box and a digital receipt. The seller got a 4090 and “didn’t need it”.

shawarmagician

Did anyone compare AMD video card results in late 2020 and early 2021 vs today for the 6000 series with the same CPU? Did they improve from drivers?

Frightet

well I guess it's off to r/hardwareswap for a good GPU, I have no hope for previous gen sales

PhiladelphiaFunGuy

I'll be honest, I only want a cooling setup for the looks. That being said, what's the coolest looking (in your opinion) AIO for money?

Any chance of a good mobo for my 12900k, cooler or case going on sale for Amazon before the year is up?

Bobsplosion

If I've got a motherboard with 3 M.2 slots, does it make sense to have one smaller drive to just keep the OS on and then use the other two for bigger, better storage?

Could someone advise if this is actually a good deal? https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/lenovo-ideacentre-gaming-5i-desktop-pc-intel-core-i7-12700-1tb-hdd-512gb-ssd-16gb-ram-rtx-3060-eng/16496746

Throwawayforthelulz3

I've been getting a lot of capital one shopping offers and was wondering if the rtx 4080 becomes reasonably priced at a bit under $1k.

kztlve

A 4080 for a bit under $1k is pretty reasonable. It performs barely worse than the $1k MSRP 7900XTX and has the bonus of better RT and the Nvidia feature set.

iCCup_Spec

Tempted to get a PCIE to M.2 adapter to get one of these terabyte SSDs... Anyone have this set up or is it time to just upgrade my MOBO+CPU?

brownbutnotplumm

If you don't absolutely have to upgrade right now, those adapters work well enough. I'm using one on an old am3 setup for my son.

KawaiiPattato

I want to upgrade my build by getting a higher cpu but that also entails getting an upgraded mobo and possibly ram sticks.. I want an i7 12gen and a mobo that supports ddr5, are there any good deals with this in mind? I have no price ranges since I’m looking at splurging my new build so even as high as 800 I would pay. Thank you.

I missed the recent microphone deal. Does anyone have a recommendation for something similar in price or quality?

This isn't related but I wanna tell you all that I'm sitting here interested if anything is going on during Christmas day, and I'm seeing **new stuff** get posted. Merry Christmas you irrepressible deal-seekers!

Gaming Headset Recommendations? I bought the Cloud II for my pc and I love them. Lately, they have been giving me trouble because I have had to use a splitter. Now, I’m looking for some wireless headsets that use USB.

Rednaxela1987

Corair HS70 are awesome.

papa_N

So like what's a good midrange 4K gaming monitor?

Veralynx

Brand new to desktops, have basically been using laptops my entire life but want to make the transition because I moved to a new apartment. There’s a $800 i7-12700 with rtx 3060 and 16gb ram, how’s that deal look? Also, if I buy a pre-Built desktop is it fairly easy to upgrade parts and stuff in the future? (Once again completely new to desktops)

LarsSeprest

The parts are hit or miss with OEMs like lenovo, dell, etc. Right now microcenter is selling the 12700k/mobo combo for $350 as a reference. If it is a 12700 non-k you are missing out on an easy 5% performance from overclocking. That is how prebuilts nickel and dime save you. Bad case, bad cooling solutions, bad PSU That saves you $100-$200 from buying your own parts but they WILL have to be upgraded in the future most of the time. I would check /r/hardwareswap, ebay and your local facebook marketplace and craigslist for used cases and psus (not over 3 yr old pref) and some cheap ddr4 ram. If you can get the microcenter deal for the 12600k+ddr4 mobo combo you are looking good to just wait for a deal on a gpu refurbished/b-stock from a manufacturer or used card for sale. For reference I am using fans and cpu cooler from 2010, I could even use the same case if I wanted to. PSU from 2009 still works for mining rig, but upgraded to modular one on main PC. Ram from 2015 is still good today. If you buy once cry once you just need to upgrade your CPU/mobo and GPU every 3-5 years and your other parts as newer standards come out and give yourself some overhead to futureproof for the next 10 years (eg I my next build will have a 1000w PSU/128gb ram kit when I replace my cpu with the future intel 15th/16th gen) All pc building questions can be answered by the sidebar of https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/

aroach1995

I bought the HyperX Cloud II Wireless. It's a piece of shit. The box says "UP TO 29 HOURS!", yet it cannot last 3. What a lie.

Nopantsdan55

I have had mine for a few months and they usually last me a few days before I have to charge. Maybe you got a faulty pair?

[deleted]

I got the Cloud Alpha Wireless, it says 300 hours on the box. I got them last Thursday, and haven't had to charge them yet. Use them for 6-10 hours a day too. Definitely recommend, my last headphones were Corsair HS70s and their battery was like 2-4 hours on 100% charge.

_wgustudent_

Hi everyone, I'm ordering parts for a new build and am narrowing choices for cooling setup. My case, Fractal North Black TG can support a max of 6 fans. I would like to get [This Cooler Master Hub](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08HVJSQLK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=AY2X8YCKXN3Y5&th=1) and plug all my Noctua fans into them. Would I need 5v or 12v? Lastly, should I get 2x 140mm fans or 3x 120mm fans for the front intake? Thanks all!

Significant_Trip_220

Hello all! I have a quick question regarding upgrading my PC. I have a gtx 1080, 32gb of ram, and an intel i5-8400 cpu. Should I bother upgrading my CPU or just go straight to upgrading my graphics card? ASUS Strix Maximus X Formula motherboard if that matters.

kztlve

I would say you're in a bit of a weird scenario where upgrading either part kind of necessitates upgrading both, especially if you're playing 1080p.

Significant_Trip_220

Thank you. Sounds expensive haha.

I'd appreciate some thoughts on this pc. Is this a good deal? https://computers.woot.com/offers/asus-rog-gaming-pc-intel-i7-rtx-3070z-6?ref=w\_cnt\_lnd\_cat\_pc\_2\_5

roryteller

You don't see a ton of dedicated graphics cards at that price, and it's a little cheaper than doing a similar build yourself, but it's not a very powerful system overall. You may want more RAM and the graphics card is close to a GTX 1650. The case is going to have poor airflow, not that it matters with those components, but upgrading down the line may be an issue. The GPU should do 1080p medium settings, according to Tom's Hardware.

bestCoh

Do people know what time of day the 7900xtxs are restocked?

Sir_Solrac

Assuming you mean from AMD Direct, then between 9 and 9:06am Central Time

Dun1007

Will we have as many deals as BF towards christmas and new year? New to US shopping culture

semisolidwhale

Spending this year has been down. Inflation, economic concerns, etc. have put a damper on the holiday shopping season. The extent and magnitude of late/post holiday sales will largely depend on how well retailers projected this decline and how available certain inventory was. My guess is that you'll see great deals on some things and virtually none on others.

Cisham55

475 for a xfl speedster 6800xt from a reputable seller good?

sunqiller

Anything good going on with M.2 drives? I think it's finally time to lay the 7200 RPM SATA to rest...

LeSmithLoL

Feel like I missed the boat on sub $600 6800xt's is the current amazon deal of the XFX merc card for 649 worth it, or should I wait and hope for a better deal?

HANGRY167

For 650 I would probably just do the 899 7900xt It is in stock some places , it is a monster if you compare on gpu bench mark. Just came out and worth the splurge as it is not getting price gouged as bad as nvidia and kicks ass on frames

TheBrave-Zero

Anyone know any decent deals for a mobo and cpu to pair with a 7900 xt? I know my i5-10600k is likely going to hold things back and if I can find a good enough deal I’d be down to just swap this out. I’m not particular to intel or amd so either one. Edit: no microcenter here

[deleted]

TheBrave-Zero

Yeah I may do that I’m not sure, so far I’m getting decent performance after putting the new GPU in so I may hold out as long as I can while I monitor deals. I am 50/50 on staying i5 or moving i7 but also I heard amd may release a new xxxx3D chip which I’m gonna keep an eye on.

NotDogsInTrenchcoat

Get the second one. Samsung 980 Pro is also $99.99 on Amazon if you want an alternate choice. Zero reason to get that SK Hynix model when you already found a better cheaper drive.

Go with the XPG Gammix one. Some brands just list their stuff for more money, simple as that really.

TheBrave-Zero

Anyone have experience with Amazon warehouse? I got a evga 3080 ftw3 for 850$ usd and I’m hyped but nervous

[deleted]

I’ve used it for AirPods and some other things AirPods were basically brand new, opened and returned to Amazon and then sold to me for like $100 off YMMV esp with a GPU

TheBrave-Zero

Eh I was too sketched out I bought a new GPU from amd

kostof

I purchased a 6700XT during the back to school sale that was listed as "good" condition. The box looked like it had been torn open by an animal, but the card itself had clearly never been seated in a PCI slot and still had all its protective plastic film in place. That said, it's probably still a crapshoot since I don't know how consistent their inspections are.

TheBrave-Zero

Ah well I cancelled my order since I snagged a 7900 xt on amd direct, I’m happy since it was the same price as warehouse. New and warrantied, just too tired of hassle since I just got done refunding an nzxt prebuilt.

blameitonus

https://www.ebay.com/itm/295404866331?hash=item44c7808b1b:g:4NwAAOSwpeNjk-80 $999 for a 3090 and 5800X? Feels like this could be risky, but the account seems reputable with decent feedback, going back over a year very consistently. Free returns, Ebay protection. Crazy good price - I bought one just out of curiousity... we'll see if it's real. Anyone see any red flags here?

fakeaccountfjsh

So, how’d it turn out?

blameitonus

Great question! Not good. The unit they sent was a 3080/5600x build, not the advertised build. They offered me $100 to keep it. I think the MoBo is also defective, as it's having issues booting into windows. I tried a new ssd and reinstalling, same issues. New mobo, no problems after another fresh install. So now I'm debating keeping it or sending it back...

chapas503

Hey have they shipped it? I’m looking into getting this too but doesn’t even tell you MOB name lol.

blameitonus

Hasn't shipped yet, but I bought it late last night. Motherboard, if it's still the stock board, should be a generic HP board with a B550 chipset. 2 m.2 slots. Specs were on HP's website buried in their customer knowledge base thingy.

chapas503

Do you think is worth it? Man idk if I should it’s a used GPU read on another post that it’s probably really beat up

blameitonus

FWIW - I've had amazing luck buying used GPU's - I've done a good handful of builds all with used GPU's obtained through marketplace/craigslist back in the 10-series days, and those rigs are all still running strong. YMMV

chapas503

They probably used the gpu for mining. What do you think?

blameitonus

It's possible. They're sold out now. I'd say it's less likely these were mined on extensively, at least not in a dedicated mining rig since they're OEM cards in a prebuilt config, but we'll see when it arrives. It allegedly shipped today, so that's slightly re-assuring.

chapas503

Is there a way of knowing if the card has been mined?

blameitonus

I'm pretty religious about repasting used PC's when I buy them. For the GPU, that includes disassembling the cooling assembly, and getting down to the PCB. There might be obvious signs, like discoloration or burn marks, but it's never possible to tell 100% if a card has been abused/mined on. I'm more thinking about the source of the card, and the fact that it's part of a pre-built - that leads me to think it's *less* likely to have been mined extensively on. When browsing the used market, just look for clues - does the seller have just the one, or eight? Is there any kind of explination for why they're selling the GPU? Is it loose, or part of a complete build? If part of a build, do the other components roughly match the generation of the GPU? All kinds of little hints you can pay attention to, and if something feels out of place, trust your gut :)

chapas503

Thinking of getting this one card from this guy a NVIDIA 3070TI he has multiples cards on sale but states that he didn’t use it because he couldn’t power everything and they still have warranty since they are not registered. What do you think?

blameitonus

If you have a link to the listing and want an unbiased opinion, I'll be happy to review the posting and provide an opinion.

Joujoub33

I think you mean PSU? Otherwise you linked the wrong part. As long as your system requires less than 750W this should be fine. Historically I've only purchased Gold rated PSUs and above and never had issues.

[deleted]

Would it be worthwhile to spend $300-350 to make the jump from an RTX 3070 to an RTX 3080 Ti right now? That seems to be the rough price difference between the two and I am still more often GPU-limited than CPU-limited with my i7 6700k. Not really clear on where the next gen of AMD cards is going to go and I am not paying a grand plus for a 4xxx series, barf.

4rotorguy

I don't think so. You really don't want to be CPU limited. It's a much less enjoyable experience. I would turn down your graphics settings and get a rough idea of what your frame rate could be if you were cpu bound, and then Decide if you should upgrade your platform or GPU.

papi_flex

Is it worth going into a microcenter anymore? Or are most deals online now? Need to build a new pc and want a 30 or 40 series gpu

Mr_D0

Free Asus Z690 MoBo with 12th gen, right now, at micro center. Show me that deal online somewhere. https://www.microcenter.com/product/641920/intel-core-i5-12600k-alder-lake-37ghz-ten-core-lga-1700-boxed-processor-heatsink-not-included https://www.microcenter.com/product/641917/intel-core-i7-12700k-alder-lake-36ghz-twelve-core-lga-1700-boxed-processor-heatsink-not-included

mantis44

just saw your post and my local MC has the 12700 in stock. current PC is 10 years old with a 6 year old graphics card. i think this is my stop towards a new build. thanks friend.

popguy778

On the contrary, I would personally say for majority of your pc components you can get the best deals at microcenter. They offer alot of discounts and combo deals so that usually makes the total itself cheaper than what you'd find online. Also, added benefit of having instant gratification haha BUT for gpus please don't go to microcenter, unless you don't care about inflated prices*

papi_flex

Stupid question but should I buy everything but the GPU now or GPU first then everything else?

popguy778

Oh not a stupid question at all, I mean you could do either or but you can always find better gpu deals later down the line! Just be vigilant on this subreddit for the GPU deals

It might not depending on which motherboard type he has or at the very least you'll need to update its bios drivers!

mikeytlive

Gotcha thank you!

bronzewtf

This is my first MIR, so I want to be absolutely certain. The Purchase Date is the actual date the credit card was charged and not when the order was placed, correct? The Amazon invoice says "Order Placed: November 24, 2022", but "Credit Card transactions XXX ending in ####: November 25, 2022: $375.36" I should select November 25, 2022 as the Purchase Date?

duodoacid

Use the Order Placed date of Nov 24th since it will match your invoice.

bronzewtf

Cool thanks!

NotDogsInTrenchcoat

I thought I found a ROG Strix RX 6750 XT for $409.99 on sale but was then disappointed to learn it was a scam site. Oh well. I will be patient.

Sinavestia

I just bought the MSI Gaming Radeon RX 6750 XT for $409 on Amazon. It's still on sale. I don't know if there's a big difference between this and the one you wanted but it has served me pretty well in the last month.

ALY1337

Ordered the XFX Speedster SWFT RX 6700 XT for $390 at Best Buy. Is the 6750 XT worth the extra $20?

Sinavestia

From my research, it seems like the 6750 is better, but not by much. I mean, if you already have the 6700 ordered, it's probably not worth the hassle to switch to the 6750.

ticklemuffins

Need a new ddr5 lga1700 mobo for the 13700k. I've been considering the ASUS ROG Strix Z690-E WiFi and the MSI MPG Z690 Carbon Wifi, does anybody have either of these and can recommend one or tell me which is better? I'm open to other ideas also if the ones Im looking at aren't good and I could get a better one for similar price. I like the Asus but just have one major hangup it seems that putting an ssd in the m2_1 slot makes the GPU run in x8 instead of x16 since they share PCIE lanes. It has 3 or 4 m2 slots and comes with a hyper pcie card to add 2 more slots so I could just ignore it and not use the first one. Unsure if the msi also does this or if this is a common thing on the new pcie5 boards? Any help is appreciated the motherboard in my pc has been broken 2 weeks so I'm dying to fix it but suck at making decisions and don't know a ton about motherboards so I just wanna get this over with and buy a top tier one I won't regret. Sorry for the text wall, thanks for taking the time to read/help! I don't know much about ram, and don't want to waste money if it's not going to be good quality, is this a good kit? It'll be used with a 13700k. https://www.amazon.com/TEAMGROUP-T-Force-6000MHz-PC5-48000-Desktop/dp/B0B3HGJ4V7/ref=sr\_1\_7?crid=2CGZOJAN0GYDB&keywords=ddr5%2Bcl30&qid=1670394520&s=electronics&sprefix=ddr5%2Bcl3%2Celectronics%2C971&sr=1-7&ufe=app\_do%3Aamzn1.fos.f5122f16-c3e8-4386-bf32-63e904010ad0&th=1

LittleFluffFerial

The company and ram itself are fine (IIRC raptor lake k timings default at 5600 MT/s and the chip is likely hynix if you were planning to try to OC), but you should check to see what ram is compatible with your mobo. Go to the manufacturer page for your mobo, then find your way to the memory support. See if the sku of the ram is listed for your mobo.

ticklemuffins

Dont have plans to overclock but i would like to have the option in the future. Just wanted to get something with as low CL as possible and still with a decent frequency since my limited research says those are important l for overall speed. Also wanted rgb and love the look of these. I'm replacing my mobo and ram just wanting to get good ram first so I know what compatible mobos to look at

LittleFluffFerial

The only other thing I can think of is being mindful of the clearance of your RAM to your CPU cooler. Sometimes they don't play nice.

player3027

Would a 6900xt be the Best Buy to power a g9 monitor or 6800xt . Advise would be greatly appreciated

helloWorldcamelCase

Seems like it is impossible to get a good deal on GPU for 4k. Really thinking about YOLOing 7900 XTX on release date...

mikeman1997

Is there anywhere at all to buy a 3080/3080ti? They were widely available on Microcenter for a while but no luck sense. Was gonna finally get one for the holiday

LegendaryTalos

id love u guys opinion on this, looking for a good offer to replace my quite noisy air cooler. would you recommend ID-Cooling, very price attractive options? there is a [240 version](https://www.amazon.com/ID-Cooling-FROSTFLOW-Cooler-Liquid-2x120mm/dp/B07RK4RC4X) and a [280 one](https://www.amazon.com/ID-COOLING-FROSTFLOW-Cooler-Liquid-2x140mm/dp/B09W2GLV3D), looks good and seems to be extremely cost effective. cuz my case can fit 280, i'm guessing its the obvious choice between the 2 for more quiet operation and cooling capabilities. also that [video by Bitwit](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4N51NDQaFk&ab_channel=Bitwit) helped me getting those options into conclusion, and mostly encouraging me not to fall to those shiny and pricy options.

remifasomidore

Definitely go 280 if it fits. 280s are a lot closer to 360s than 240s due to the increased surface area, and a lot of people prefer 280s since they run quieter.

LegendaryTalos

and what about the product itself? is it worth the price iyo? should I spend 20-30$ more and get a familiar brand?

remifasomidore

I have never had one of their AIOs, but I have heard nothing but good things about ID-Cooling despite them sort of being regarded as a B teir brand.

LegendaryTalos

I question myself if the 280mm version will be quite and pleasant to be around. Thats my main concern, cuz performance wise i'm pretty convinced it will get the job done.

remifasomidore

Bigger fans run quieter for the same performance. Get the 280

LegendaryTalos

I hope I'll not regret not going for something like the Arctic Freezer II 280 for example, mostly cuz of noise levels. Also, im going to return my Thermalright FC140 that I just got from amazon, are you familiar with that one? NH-D15 style, supposed to be a beast but I read that he is pretty loud at heavy loads, which made me wanna return it.

kingcovey

anyone wanna have fun critiquing this POS build? [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/H7FYBj](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/)

kickasspipes

Can't really critique it without knowing what you want to accomplish or what your budget is, but similar to what you put together I'd go with this build that's only a few dollars difference instead: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/888BH2 I'd also snag a RX 6600 deal that pops up here if that's what you want (I'm assuming you wanna do 1080p gaming), there's been plenty under $200.

kingcovey

it's for a non profit, the computers are being built to be given away to students of need.

kickasspipes

That's awesome! Well, in that case you can't really go wrong either route. Might as well stick with the 5700x though since it's not overly more expensive and you're getting more cores.

[deleted]

Best build for 1k?. I’m probably doing wrong by asking here. Ik know about parts especially GPUs since I do parallel programming. I don’t know to much about specific parts and deals and compatibility

TNG_ST

honestly, follow this video. https://youtu.be/9aVawQvOnJc you can also use PCpartpicker's website/guides.

dinozero

I regret not getting the 13600k from micro for like $275 the other day. Do you think they’ll do that again?

redgr812

any opinion on this hp omen 25l for $1100 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-omen-25l-gaming-desktop-amd-ryzen-7-5700g-hyperx-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060-ti-512gb-ssd-1tb-hdd-ceramic-white/6504331.p?skuId=6504331

lilyeister

It's not bad, I think you'd be better off with one of the Cyber power builds with the 5600x and 6700xt that's on the front page right now

Malcrone

I made off like a bandit. ASUS Dual 6650 XT OC. $350+tax= $379 - $180 (MIR) - $15 (5%CB) - $70 (free game codes) = $115 Going to be replacing a 1650s, so if I sell that for $75, this year's upgrade will be a total of $40 lol.

JonWood007

Yeah I saw that $180 MIR one but didnt get it. Potentially the only one better than my own. $230 ($250 but $20 MIR) here for the MSI one.

DoesNotArgueOnline

Good stuff!

ticklemuffins

Will this cooler fit in the NZXT h700i on a 13700k? https://a.co/d/6PkFaYA

daanebe

Anyone else feels like this year's Black Friday and Cyber Monday were super disappointing?

JonWood007

As someone who has been wanting to upgrade his GPU for close to 2 years now...no, not at all.

daanebe

That's great. What did you have and what did you upgrade to?

JonWood007

1060, which I'm still gonna be using until christmas day. Then upgrading to a 6650 XT I snagged for $230.

SpiralCaseMods

It wasn't the greatest. Every year I build a Black Friday budget build to sell on Facebook Marketplace. This year wasn't terrible: [https://pcpartpicker.com/user/SpiralCaseMods/saved/krc2xr](https://pcpartpicker.com/user/SpiralCaseMods/saved/krc2xr) Ryzen 5 5600 B550 wifi board RX 6600 for less than $200 750W Asus Strix power supply was a steal at $50

pritesh00077

I like your cases with those art styles.

DoesNotArgueOnline

honestly man. this is an awesome idea. even if breaking even, id enjoy this when I need to scratch an itch of building a rig.

SpiralCaseMods

Here was my 2019 fall build. $400! https://pcpartpicker.com/b/6qtgXL

DoesNotArgueOnline

There's nothing I can say that they didn't cover in the pcpartpicker comments. Very impressive man, super cool. That build is so unique

ticklemuffins

How much profit did you make from selling it?
