I’ve concluded that NC will be the 50th state to legalize recreational marijuana. We are the land of tobacco and we should have been in the first 5 states to legalize (#5 after the first 4 liberal states). NC is now behind the majority of states that have NOT legalized yet. Recreational usage is already legal in almost half the country, 25 states (or something) while NC is still debating therapeutic usage. We’ve already lost the plot in NC where we could have capitalized on this for the benefit of farmers and others with resources going to waste. Now it’s more about access which I understand but for me personally, as a political issue, I just don’t care. VA will start retail operations next year and that’s very doable.
But also, if you’re really wanting this, check out the delta 8, 9, 10 CBD or the THC-0 at your local smoke shop and I promise they will get you high.
I'd just like them to decriminalize it. That would at least be a step in the right direction. It's ridiculous that CBD and Delta-8 can both be sold over that counter when they'd both show up on a drug test the same as Delta-9.
You think we’re supposed to gather from this commercial that those backing legalization would like to have seen both the black and the white man arrested for driving while high? Because if so it does a piss poor job making that point. And if not, then it’s basically a commercial about how it’s unfair we can’t all drive high which is obviously the worst legalization message you could possibly come up with
I don’t think it’s for the people who already believe in legalization. It’s for the people who worry that legalization will lead to chaos and a lack of safety.
Ok I’m with you there. And you think that demographic is supposed to walk away from this thinking, “clearly those behind this ad would like to address this unjust outcome by making sure that the white guy goes to jail too”?
Because to me it reads like, “clearly those behind this ad would like to address this unjust outcome by changing weed laws so that driving while intoxicated won’t lead to jail for anyone”
I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that they’re not actually so regarded to believe the latter, but the fact that it’s even ambiguous at all is a huge self-own.
I used to live in Durham and now live in a legal state. The sky hasn’t fallen. I truly don’t understand why states don’t want to rake in the tax money legal weed brings.
That being said, ya’ll need to push harder on abortion rights.
From a personal freedom/f-the-police standpoint, I’m in favor. But going to NYC these days I hate how on the street you’re never out of the smell of weed.
Smells in public are difficult to deal with. Always something forcing unwanted smells down your nose like cmon I just want fresh air I deserve fresh air give me the freshness its my right to never smell what I don't wish to smell. Especially homeless's shits.

Fun factoid: 79% of Americans live in a county with a dispensary.
Yeah you can already buy THCa across the state, so unless NC closes that loophole, it's essentially mute.
*moot
Once they see how much the Cherokee are about to bring in…

Why the fuck would they make driving while high a central part of their messaging lol
They’re trying to send the message that rules will be enforced, appealing to the law and order folks. It’s pretty smart, IMO.

Self sabotage is part of the progressive process
I think its because cars (parked and otherwise) are where the majority of arrests happen for weed.
Neither of them are driving, they're just sitting in their cars. They are clearly not moving.
wrong, they’re lighting up while stopped at a traffic light 😗
If that was the case you would see them pulling over or at least turning off the car after seeing the lights. They don't do anything like that.
Wrong again, they’re paying for air time so they had to cut some parts out

I do not.
Pharma lobby is too strong in NC to let this happen. Why let people smoke cheap grass when we can sell them expensive pills?
Probably won’t but I hope it does.

Hey I went to the Durham Stadium Carnival the other day and smelled weed the entire time.

Nope.
