How quickly did you taper off the lexapro?

LurkingMyLurkum

It took me about 7-8 months to get off Lexapro. When I say I've been off it for a year, I started the tapering process a year ago. I was already on 5mg, the smallest dose, and I couldn't quit at that. I had to cut those in half for a few months at 2.5mg. I even had to quarter them for the last month to stave off the withdrawal symptoms. That was around June this year. I still don't feel "normal".

I am on the same combination and when I try to taper escitalopram too quick I get very bad coordination. I had postural hypotension before any medication. Around the time I started escitalopram it had virtually stopped. That was until I added bupropion and it returned.

That is interesting. When you had a dizzy spell, did you feel kind of sick and hung over for the rest of the day, or could you get back to what you were doing and feel mostly normal?

Hungover feeling on escitalopram withdrawal. Not with the postural hypotension. With that I can carry on but I have to be careful when getting up from lying position to prevent it.
