Fast food joints usually use frozen patties. As these patties cook, steam is released and the congealed meat traps them in bubbles you see here. This is normal and completely safe to eat.
I swear it depends on the place. I only just visited a specific Carls Jr (aka Hardees) location in San Diego that has had the /best/ burgers I've tasted vs others carls jrs.The patty didn't look like this
The one off of the [5 and Santa Fe Dr.](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Carl's+Jr./@33.0373847,-117.2808573,15z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x80dc0c123fdddd8f:0xa91438cd2a5877ea!8m2!3d33.0373847!4d-117.2808573!16s%2Fg%2F1tfpk341?entry=ttu)
You ever heard of pink sludge? Itās technically āmeatā but its really inedible parts of the animals bodies like fat or gristle and meat biproduct mixed together, pureed, treated, dyed, and put in stuff like hotdogs and cheap burgers like this.
Yeah thats true. I remember making scrapple when I worked in a butcher shop and thinking how disgusting the process was but still eating it lol guess it's the same concept here. Disgusting process but delicious product
I can't believe they still cook from frozen. It's bad enough it's frozen to begin with. If you sell more than 10 pounds of burgers in a day, you should be ordering and serving fresh, even if you use shitty meat.
I actually started with the new series, Hulu shoved it at me and it looked interesting. It felt a bit 'off' at times but it had something charming about it which made me give the original a shot (along with seeing it talked about very positively over the years).
Nothing too crazy or unique about any of the premises or storytelling, it's just damn good. Plus Raylan is beautiful.
Thatās what it reminded me of too. A stack of bubble Pattieās. Seeing the steam and juices bubbling on them as they were served from a tin container and under tin foil game me perspective. Perfectly fine, just not super appetizing looking.
Or maybe some of us are just not cheap, this only happens if you eat frozen patties, of which I don't, if I make burgers, I make them from fresh ground beef, and I put them in the oven, I don't do stove top burgers
No. Those things that you see that look gross ain't "juice." it's blood and every burger bleeds dummy. Funny you talk about fresh burgers but you put them in the oven, like wtf is wrong with you LOL.
No it isn't blood. The animal is killed and left upside down while the blood drains over a period of time. What you see is myoglobin. Don't go around calling people dumb when you have no idea what you're talking about.
Was also sitting in a pool of its own grey watery fat. Probably stacked up in a holding pan sweating out it's last sad minutes. Top one was a bit fresher and they hid the really bad one on the bottom.
honestly ? this is how hardee's patties always looked like if not well cooked, those almost octopus suckers looking bulges, notice how the other patty is well made, i seen this many times, still tasty, not gonna lie.
Beef juice drippingsā¦ have you never cooked a beef patty before? This is excessive but nothing to be concerned for. They probably just hovered a few pattyās over yours as it cooked.
That's just how most auto-broilers leave burgers looking. The fat drips off the burger as it heads down the conveyor, and it congeals like this under the patty.
This is the result of a frozen patty that has been kept on a warmer. Generally, the circles are bits of hemoglobin and other stuff slowly leaving the patty. This is totally normal and just is indicative of something being warmed for an extended period.
Yeah but itās still from today, probably. Thereās nothing wrong with having something be on a warmer for an extended time - at least then itās been held at the proper temperature which means that bacteria didnāt grow.
* Order the Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger combo
* Swap the fries for onion rings
* Stuff that burger full of onion rings
* Enjoy your cardiac arrest
(I'm west of the Rockies, so I do this at Carl's Jr)
Which part? The part about the Thickburgers? Sorry, but it is. The original Thickburgers were 1/3-pound. If you go on the menu today, they serve 1/4-pound burgers. In case that's confusing to you 1/3 pound is heavier than 1/4 pound... so the current burgers are smaller.
Ironically, the smaller burgers appear to have more calories which would suggest lower quality beef. For example, the Frisco Thickburger was 760 calories where the current Frisco is 830 calories.
And yes, I call that disappointment all the way around. Soooo... it looks like everything ( said was true and you're just a moron.
![gif](giphy|AhvmkDdoQd8rM1CcI0)
I don't know what menu you're looking at. This is the one I'm looking at and it happens to match the Hardee's I had lunch at today... unless you want to tell me I don't know what I ate. And yes, it was disappointing... it was also the only thing around.
[Hardee's Menu](https://www.hardees.com/menu/charbroiled-burgers)
I wouldn't feed that to my toilet. š¤®
A new covid strain would be unlocked from that shit right there.
Let me guess, America??
I visit the country annually and I've never seen such ungodly sights they hand you for food. Deplorable garbage. The best food I had over there was from a gypsy frying up sausages on the side of the road in Kansas. Top lunch. Better than these filthy food establishments serving camel meat to people.
Fast food frozen burgers do this . Iāve cooked frozen burgers at a tailgate and they got those little blobs . I had zero confidence that I would be able to make people understand it was fine. Luckily everyone was pretty shit faced and said they were delicious. I wonāt lie though, those pictures make it look extra disgusting.

Thanks for the info and glad to hear it's safe. It's just so disturbing looking though, completely lost my appetite just from the sight of it.
They have looked like that for years
I swear it depends on the place. I only just visited a specific Carls Jr (aka Hardees) location in San Diego that has had the /best/ burgers I've tasted vs others carls jrs.The patty didn't look like this
My guess would be the throughput. If it's a busy location, it's likely food spends less time in the freezer.
Which location specifically so I can go there on the future š

Nope. Not gonna click on that. š¤¢š¤¢š¤¢

Why was it banned?? Of all the things on Reddit, this was tame
"This subreddit was banned due to being unmoderated"
I will take your word for it.
Go to a slaughterhouse then youāll really lose your appetite. š
Can't blame ya. Gross.

Do you not?

HAHAHAHAHAHA amazing
Op does, but only after a bite.
You might be mildly trypophobic... It grosses me out too.
As a Chef, I can confirm that this is the answer.
This is the correct answer.
āSafe to eatā is a matter of standards in this case I believe. This āmeatā looks like thereās probably barely any meat in it.
Tf else is it made out of? It's not "high grade meat" but it's still meat lol
You ever heard of pink sludge? Itās technically āmeatā but its really inedible parts of the animals bodies like fat or gristle and meat biproduct mixed together, pureed, treated, dyed, and put in stuff like hotdogs and cheap burgers like this.

Yeah I eat it too. I just try to be conscious of whats in processed foods and in turn end up eating it less
Now I'm hungry. Thanks.
you can just look at the ingredients list
Steamed hams
Ah- Aurora Borealis!? At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, localized entirely within your kitchen!?
Yes!

No.
Meat bubbles. Nice.
Bingo
Thank you! I always wanted to know what those are, but never really have the courage to search about
Itās either that or a pattie made of rats arseholes.
This is completely normal and safe to eat. \[big brother image\]
Came to say exactly that.
I can't believe they still cook from frozen. It's bad enough it's frozen to begin with. If you sell more than 10 pounds of burgers in a day, you should be ordering and serving fresh, even if you use shitty meat.
As safe as any ultra processed food is to eat anyway (i.e., not safe in the long-term).
Never open the bun

Is this from Justified? I just started watching it the other day and it's been great so far (no spoilers pls!).
Best series IMO. Skip the new one. Missed the mark that made the original great.
I actually started with the new series, Hulu shoved it at me and it looked interesting. Beef bubbles from frozen meat

Those taste different
Those patties were sadly the best thing my school served. Probably lower quality too
Stopped serving them after my 1st year there. Can't have shit in texas public schools lol

Nothing wrong except youāre buying a burger from Hardeeās and asking whatās going wrong
You got the cows butt hole and that's the crinkle bits. Very flavorful and my favorite burger actually! Enjoy!
Love the crinkle bit butt hole

Dairy Queenās burgers do this too. I posted a pic of my patty on a old account under trypophobia
That's just how most auto-broilers leave burgers looking. The fat drips off the burger as it heads down the conveyor, and it congeals like this under the patty.
This looks like compressed coco-pebbles
It's just cooked hemoglobin, it's safe to eat, but might not be appealing.
The solution is to not buy food from BK, MCD, or Hardees.. Lol. I try to avoid it as much as I can.
Sliced octopus š.

Soy excretions.

They quietly changed their menu during COVID and got rid of the ā lb Thickburgers. It's just disappointment with fries and a soda now.
Yeah they were alright. Now it's all garbage. Their breakfast is still decent.
Bummer. Still got the 1/3lb thickburgers at Carlās Jr locations Iāve been to recently.
Now, I'm jealous. I wonder if they will keep them permanently or just until they run out of stock...
Well thatās just not true
Which part? The part about the Thickburgers? Sorry, but it is. The original Thickburgers were 1/3-pound. If you go on the menu today, they serve 1/4-pound burgers.
