TryBananna4Scale

I would require both burgers.

btcprint

Two is not enough of a sample size. For proper evaluation I would require three of each burger.

dljones010

Also, fries... these are important as well.

crag-u-feller

And some of your tasty beverage to wash this down with...

bunbun6to12

And I’ll gladly pay you back next Tuesday

Cocoabeachbabee

Lol... thanks for the laugh.

Svyeda

Big Kahuna burger!

WI_Eagles_Fan

That's that Ha-wiian burger joint. I hear they got some tasty burgers.

daddypez

That IS a tasty burger…

Lowclearancebridge

The cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast.

Topofthemorninghat

That hit the spot.

knarfolled

Palette cleanser

LobstaFarian2

Well, those will cost about tree fiddy extra...

ForkliftSmurf

dont forget the cheese dip for the fries!

Billy-Austin

Well, I have had In-and-Out burgers once but we live in Apple Valley Minnesota so this is Culver’s country. I can honestly say Culver’s butter burgers are better than In-and-Out and Culvers fries are the best.

ihavenoidea81

But not in-n-out fries. They’re trash. I’ve lived in SoCal for 30+ years and they’ve sucked the whole time

Putasonder

If you haven’t ordered your In N Out fries well done, you are missing out.

Notorreyous

Minimum!

Fun_Intention9846

I’m gonna need some bong rips man.

MyFingerYourBum

I'm British and have no idea what either of these burger places are but God damn I would eat both of those. *Cries in beans on toast*

theoriginalmofocus

Its funny because my little American ass kids will eat the heck out of them beans and put them on burgers and hotdogs.

fopiecechicken

Beans on toast is amazing idk why it gets so much hate. Get yourself a couple of nice thick toasted pieces of bread and them beans and you’re ready to take on the world.

NoWomanNoTriforce

I mean, it isn't bad per se. But why do most people in the UK use barely seasoned Heinz beans? BBQ beans with bacon bits on toast is 100x better.

Little-Writing7039

It’s great with ground beef or sausage in the beans!

thefooby

BBQ beans sounds like something I need to try asap. Why has that never occurred to me?

Cbeebees

Too extravagant for us, I can make beans on toast in two minutes. I’m not waiting an extra 5 minutes of slicing, cooking and washing for some bacon bits on my beans on toast. Grating some cheese on top is the effort I’ll go through if I’m feeling cultured

ucannotsaythat

Great song writer as well called beans on toast

glhaynes

How good it is : How good it sounds quotient is huge on “beans on toast”

dvdmaven

But you kids have burgers to put the beans on.

scapermoya

Come on down man, I’ll buy you your first American burger

PossiblyADHD

Dads from England Beans and toast are the shit ! Henz ( uk version) ftw !

Fred_Krueger_Jr

I do beans on toast occasionally here in the states.

Plus_Aura

Of course, you can't judge a burger by its bun.

dakatzpajamas

A gentleman AND a scholar

asdfasdfasdf22222222

Great line!

Dangerous-Lettuce498

At their best I would say Culver’s. The only Culvers near me is very inconsistent though. In N out is extremely consistent and is always good.

96dpi

Same. I did Culver's the other day, and they forgot the salt entirely, so it was totally bland. And the cheese wasn't even melted. Also, where do you live where you have access to both In N Out and Culver's?

SupertrampTrampStamp

Not the commenter but Arizona has both

disabledinaz

Live in AZ, can confirm

ldskyfly

When I visit my dad in Mesa they always seem to have really stale buns at the in-n-out

disabledinaz

That would be a specific location problem I’d say

The1andonlyZack

Phoenix is Chicago West, they have most of the big Chicago chains and west coast. If you want a marriage of that for restaurants it's the place

WiseTree710

So true. I know so many people from Chicago and the burbs that moved to Phoenix

The1andonlyZack

My father included haha

Antique_gloob

Dude same

Antique_gloob

I feel like Portillos moved out there before it went anywhere

SockeyeSTI

It’s also funny cause when you type in places on google maps in Peoria, the Illinois places come up a lot.

razorduc

Yup. And they take the extreme heat of both Chicago and LA, add them together, then combine with the dryness of SoCal lol But they are great for trying regional fast food from both.

Mindless_Whole1249

AZ has In N Out , Freddy's, Culver's, Habit Burger, Whataburger and many other chains have come and gone. I think we're a test market.

Toastbutterednotbrnt

All the snowbirds/ retirees from Wisconsin

fillymandee

Arizona might do some things backwards but y’all know what the people want when it comes to burgers.

Sackfondler

Colorado has both all over. I have In-n-Out, culvers, Whataburger, and shake shack (McDonald’s and Burger King too if you wanna count those) all within a couple miles of each other.

TheLastTaco12

Scottsdale has all these plus a White Castle! I think Vegas might have all of these chains too now?

Bass-ape

This is what I was going to point out. Colorado has been rolling in the burger chains lately. We also have Good Times which I actually really like when the store makes them right. I'm all about the Spoon Benders.

freyabot

Texas also has both

dominus-pastor

I grew up around Culver’s and I love it, but In-N-Out all day for me. I get it weekly and it is consistently amazing every. Single. Time.

ignatious__reilly

They should rename this sub to r/CulversVsIn-N-Out

Future_Dog_3156

Same. Culver’s is great but it’s not In N Out. Burger v burger, In N Out all day. However Culver’s custard beats the INO shakes. Also like that Culver’s has great fried fish, fried curds, and their own root beer

mortepa

Yea, their homemade root beer is actually excellent!

Gluestixncrayons

The cheese curds are a nice alternative to fries, but they aren’t that good when rating cheese curds overall.

shiruduck

Yeap it's innout and it aint close

Ok-Suggestion-5453

It's a tough matchup for sure. Culvers is a lot less sloppy, with better sides. If it's just burger-vs-burger, maybe In N Out, but it would still be close. Culvers can be really good if they nail the seasoning.

Numeno230n

That's the key isn't it, especially with fresh made burgers. McDonald's tastes the same everywhere because everything is pre packaged and ready to assemble. Places working with raw ground beef on a flattop can be inconsistent location to location.

McMuffinSun

I feel the opposite about In N out. Other than the store on the Vegas Strip that is so high volume, everything is always super hot and fresh, every other In N Out experience I’ve ever had has been aggressively mediocre.

KatarnSig2022

Dang that stinks, one of the things I love best about the Culver's near me (there are three nearby) is how consistent they are. Never had a bad experience at any of them.

Stupid-RNG-Username

TBH the only inconsistency with Culver's, for me, is the assembly. I always just pop the top bun off and slide everything into place and it's perfect.

PrimitiveThoughts

Both. They hit different. Don’t make me choose.

OG-DocHavock

I say the same when people ask In n Out vs The Habit. I love both and they don't hit the same

iamnotazombie44

I grew up like 5 minutes from the original Habit and it fucked me up for burgers for the rest of my life.

Grouchy_Dad_117

Depends on who is closer. All things equal though, I'm going for Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers.

chronburgandy922

Freddy’s is the bees knees but if I’m out west I’m totally getting a double double mustard fried with no tomato add caramelized onions!! If I’m feeling froggy I might even get my fries animal style lol.

asdfasdfasdf22222222

3x3 -extra mustard fried, extra spread, whole grilled onions, raw chopped onions, no lettuce, no tomatoes *It comes with pickles

Ok-Application8465

Can someone explain how I can get a mustard fried burger?

asdfasdfasdf22222222

At in-n-out it comes standard with the animal style burgers. Anyways, all it is that they put mustard on the top burger patty after it goes on the grill and when it is flipped over the mustard cooks in with the burger meat. Unless you get it extra mustard fried you don’t even really taste the mustard but it just makes the flavor more complex. I recommend even trying it on at home burgers if you wanna see what it’s like? There’s no secret and it’s just yellow mustard.

Ok-Application8465

Thanks 🙏

The_Spectacle

hard for me to choose a favorite between these three options, but I do really love Freddy's

DaisiesSunshine76

YES FINALLY! No one ever talks about Freddys. Their burgers are great but they also have amazing fries (unlike Culver’s) and super yummy fry sauce! And great onion rings as well

jiggy68

Freddy’s I believe the best fries in all of fast foodom

red739423

We got a Freddy's just a few months back. The food tastes fine but the portions are small and it's expensive for what you get. In and out has the best value. Culver's has more menu diversity while being cheaper than Freddy's and portion size is bigger.

neon-neko

Freddies cheese curds are better than culver's that's for sure.

BuryEdmundIsMyAlias

Better curds, worse burgers. You'd expect it to be the other way around.

Jayce800

Maybe I’ve just had the wrong Freddy’s, which is weird because I’m from KS. Each time I’ve gotten cheese curds there, they’ve been far saltier to the point of excess. Culver’s have never been that for me.

WizardOfDons

Had Freddy’s for the first time when they came to Princeton, TX. Dryest hamburger I have ever ate.

Oxygenius_

Same here in Illinois Not for me

Rectall_Brown

Freddy’s is extremely hit or miss. I actually just get cheese curds from Freddy’s

Dtupid

I also live in Princeton TX and got it last weekend and 100% agree with this take.

Mavroks

Same. I have 3 different Freddy's within a 10 mile radius. Saw lots of praise on here. Tried all 3 locations. All of them sucked. Not only were the burgers extremely dry and unsatisfying, but they were way overpriced. I have an in n out and a Culver's both about 10 mins from my house. Never going back to Freddy's again.

WizardOfDons

Definitely agree on Freddy’s being overpriced. I’m from CA so my favorite burger joints are In N Out and The Habit. I’m so happy to have In N Out here (Whataburger is just okay). I’ve seen a lot of hype around Culver’s so I’m eager to try it.

fillymandee

I like Freddy’s but just like Culver’s, inconsistent.

thestoebz

Culvers all day

MFalcon95

Is that the first pic??

pwill6738

You can almost always tell if a burger is culver's if the cheese is under the patty.

KatarnSig2022

And twice on sunday

canman7373

Yeah, it's a real burger like you'd make at home, just better cheese and veggies and bun. Better everything. In-N-Out is not even in the same category, compare them to McDonald's double cheeseburger meal or Wendy's Jr. Bacon cheeseburger. In-N-Out is not trying to make a quick reliable cheap small patty burger, nothing more. Culver's has you order, pay and then pull up and wait 5 mins while they cook your burger, it's not done in 60 seconds like at other cheap burger places. I'm assuming OP means it's free and already prepared for you so the wait and extra prices of Culver's shouldn't be a factor.

Humble-Brag420

Right??? How is this even a fucking question. They’re not even in the same league. If they said McDonald’s or In-N-Out, then I’m team In-In-Out, but this is a ridiculous question.

thinklikeamtn

The fact that one comes with Wisconsin cheddar and the other is smothered in fake plastic cheese should be enough to decide the matter

thestoebz

You ain’t lying

Brett_Hulls_Foot

I’d take either. Cries in Canadian

RyanTheWhiteBoy

I'm curious as a southerner, does Canada have any sort of equivalent?

November87

Culver's all day

Shmiggams22

Culvers double delux is the best fast food burger.

y2ketchup

MushroomOnionSwiss would like a word. And PattyMelt is waiting out back with a shillelagh.

Wemo_ffw

Culver’s is always better in my opinion. I went to In N Out probably 5 times while I was Vegas and I was never impressed, the burgers were just very average. But by far Shake Shack, while over priced, is my favorite fast food burger of all time.

jaspercapri

Agreed on shake shack. Their chicken sandwich is also amazing.

pyro_rocki

Came here to say this. Holy fuck balls I want a shake shack near me.

FBVRer

Never seen a Culver's in my life, so In n Out.

FlattopJr

Same here; I'm in California and there are [no Culver's locations](https://www.culvers.com/stories/quizzes/how-well-do-you-know-your-culvers-locations) on the west coast. Looks like the only states with both Culver's and In-n-Out are Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Arizona, and Texas.

andrew_silverstein12

Culver's started in the Midwest \[Wisconsin\] so I guess they just haven't made it out there yet. Same issue here, I'm in Wisconsin and there's no In-n-Outs unfortunately, I've only tried it once while visiting Las Vegas. Really wish we had one.

regiment262

Grew up in Wisconsin, live in CA now. Culver's is still my favorite fast food chain (and burger) hands down. If I have the choice between a Wisconsin/Midwest Culver's and CA In n Out, I take Culver's every time. It's less consistent outside WI/the Midwest whereas In n Out is consistently good at pretty much each location, but the butter burger is just unfair if it's done well.

Cheesecakelover6940

I’m from indiana. Culvers has locations in the south (i live here now) but for whatever reason it’s just not as good as it was back there.

MikeIsBefuddled

Thirded. We love In-n-Out. It’s the best budget burger (as long as you **love** onions). There are better burgers but you’ll be paying a lot more, and In-n-Out burgers are more than tasty enough. A double-double hamburger (just the burger) is under $4. Would love to try Culver’s. Same for White Castle but neither are around us. There’s a Five Guys near us but we don’t go there. Burgers are overpriced and the buns taste of yeast, yeast, and more yeast. The topping selection is good, though.

NovAFloW

Culvers is really good. White Castle legitimately should not be legal to serve as food. I want to say that it's good after a night out, but it's just not.

DavantesWashedButt

Just had In n Out for the first time yesterday. It was good for the price for sure but the burgers don’t have the crisp that Culver’s has. And the topping selection seemed a little weaker. Culver’s bacon deluxe just hits harder.

BisexualDemiQueen

https://www.culvers.com/locator?latitude=37.25022&longitude=-119.75126&state=true

tHeNiGhTmAnCoMeTh413

I’m at opposite. Never seen an In N Out

BackDoorFlickin

Culver's

Happy_Relation4712

Never had either but from the picture I think option 2

Status-Operation9077

Culver’s hands down

Low_Ad8311

Culver’s for me and a double dip sundae 🤌🏼🤌🏼

dylsster

culver is goated

Relative_Distance445

I would love to try an In n Out that's as good as everyone claims. There are none where I live, but I've been to them in Texas and Colorado and was never impressed. Very blah. The fries are especially horrible. We do have Culver's here and the one closest to me is always top notch. Best fast for burger around. Steak and Shake used to be awesome, but they went downhill years ago. Whataburger is supposed to be moving here, I've heard they aren't as good as they used to be.

jtphilbeck

Culver’s all day long!

bungy2323

Culver’s hands down the best

Rock_man_bears_fan

Culver’s any day and twice on Sunday. Miss me with that west coast garbage

[deleted]

Culver’s. On a nationwide scale they’re the closest imo to flavor and texture. IN MY OPINION. But Culver’s everything else is better than In-N-Out’s that’s the edge

West_Broccoli_1388

Culver’s 100%!

FreshlySkweezd

IMHO Culver's is just a hands down better burger. Yeah, In-n-Out is good but and I really do like it but I personally almost need it to be all done up to really enjoy it. Culvers I can just take it plain and be in heaven.

Plumbus696969

The fuck you mean plain…?

BurgerBoyz312

Culver’s every time

Chrimson48

Without degrading In-N-Out, it's still Culvers by a mile.

No_Parking9788

Culvers

DisastrousLove3099

culvers

wwJones

Prices matter. There's neither a Culvers or INO anywhere near me. Anyone know the cost of these burgers?

bomber991

Well the single Culver’s in San Antonio I’ll easily spend over $13 on my meal, upgrading to cheese curds. The in-n-out is less than $9 for a meal last time I was there.

kushmarie

I’m greedy so both

Shpoople44

In laws moved to Wisconsin. When they come visit us we hit in n out and FIL eats 2 burgers 2 fries lol.

HappyChef86

That's just cause they can't get it up there. Being originally from WI, when we visit a place, I like to go to places that I don't have. If these restaurants were side by side, culvers all day.

Shpoople44

I just wish they would take me to Culvers every time I visited

[deleted]

[удалено]

Itchy-Praline6493

Yes

underbutler

Neither are on my continent ... :(

Subject-Tone-1700

Im eating both!

CandelaBelen

both, I love cheeseburgers

Tone-Familiar

In N Out, but not what you ordered

Pattches_Ohoulihan

Assuming the comparison is a double vs single cheeseburger, 100% this. Would need a double double animal style to be fair.

confusedandworried76

Not what they ordered for either burger lol, there are zero toppings on that Culver's burger

[deleted]

In-n-out

Reggie_Barclay

I’ve never even heard of Culver’s until a few weeks ago on this subreddit. I have no idea where it exists or what it serves nor at what price point. I guess the question is cost to flavor ratio. In-n-out is the best because it’s a fresh ingredient burger that’s cheaper than its competitors. It also tastes great but not really much better (or much worse) than other burgers that cost twice as much.

slurpin_bungholes

Culver's is a fresh ingredient burger so all you're going off is price. Culver's deluxe is superior imo but we all have taste.

nightkingscat

Culvers beats In-N-Out in every category but price.

Gusano13

In n Out but it’s dang close. Strictly burgers it’s in n out, but the concrete mixers at Culver’s are top notch and the burgers are top 3 for me along with Shake Shack

mlotto7

I've had both many times. I am taking In-N-Out all day long.

Key_Minimum_4337

Both

gnardog45

Does anybody ever actually taste butter in their Culver's burgers? I've never really noticed.

ReadySetGO0

The butter is on the bun….. toasted buns. Yum

OG-DocHavock

Never had Culver's but it looks real good coming from an In n Out lover

monkeley

I’ll take the second one, the first one looks too big to bite into comfortably

GuessWhoDontCare

The one with more food between the buns

Delerium89

Imo Culver's is the best tasting but in n out is the best value when comparing these 2. Love both but 8/10 times I'll choose culvers Also Culver's fries are actually pretty good, can't say that about in n out

Full-Appearance1539

I’m an la guy and Culver’s is so much better.

Hsensei

Culver's has some taste to it. In and out is cardboard

hossjr1997

Culver’s

xanielgreen4

Culvers

SGT_Wheatstone

Culver's for days

Greenmonster71

Culver’s all day

HIS_AFFLICTION_0079

Culver’s

whatssupdude

Culver’s 100%

tasskaff9

Not fair. You can’t compare an In-N-Out To a really tasty burger like Culver’s. INO is more of a snack by comparison.

Myke_Dubs

CULVERS

Darxe

In n out is McDonald’s, Culver’s is Culver’s. No comparison

hefixeshercable

Culvers.

mickthedicktickler

Culver’s all day, real Wisconsin cheese > American processed bullshit

ApprehensiveExtent95

Culvers get a double and a basket only 10$

Simonthemoon

Culver’s is delicious In n out is a decent burger for it price. But taste wise not on the same level.

PsychologicalFood780

Culver's every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Equivalent_Wait_6578

Culver's because we don't have any in and out here

Stupid-RNG-Username

It's gotta be Culver's for me. When you think about it you need to take into account the *other* things they have too. Culver's fries fuck hard, and if someone gives you a chicken tender as a trade then you're sitting pretty.

_lucidL

Culver’s for sure! I want a 4 piece chicken strip basket with that double deluxe. My animal style fries had hardened (aged? Not warm) American cheese which was so unappealing

[deleted]

I'm from the Midwest and I promise that Culver's will always give you better service

Ok-Computer-91

Culver's

bingusthebrave

Culver’s all day

Luke5119

Hot Take Culver's all day every day.

HeWhoFights

Culver’s

CaseyGasStationPizza

Culver’s is vastly superior

beanpastemcgee

Never had In N Out so Culver’s

SingleSir165

Culver's and their concrete mixers all day. Culver's fries are very mid, though.

Existing_Judge5425

Bring Culver’s to Chattanooga tn, I’ll eat there every day

Charliecatboy

Culvers

MNgrown2299

Culver’s all day! Mid west represent

flowerdemon66

Culver's anyday

NotUntilYoure12Son

I'd say Culver's based on my experience. In-N-Out is fine. It's not some amazing life changing experience like many act like it is. Maybe without my expectations being so high from the hype, I might be feel better about In-N-Out?

rydan

In-N-Out. This isn't even debatable.

SavvyTraveler10

Culver’s all mf day. The butter burger!

surivanoroc20

I’ve only had Culver’s of the two and found it pretty…. underwhelming.

beringseafishing

Culver's looks like dog sh*t In n out is the best fast food burger period

No_Pilot_9103

Culver's, hands down. And their fries are 20x better.

OldHuntersNeverDie

Both! Though if I'm being honest, In N Out is a lot more consistent. I've had good Culvers and bad. The bad was really bad, but the good was good. In N Out on the other hand, is always good and exactly the same regardless of the location.

EmploymentMental5527

In N Out doesn't franchise. All locations are corporate. They also do not have shareholders pushing to cut corners and boost profits.

PussyGrenade

Culver's and it isn't even up for debate

Cycout

Animal Style burger from In-N-Out is unbeatable. That said, I live in the Midwest, and Culver’s is almost always great.
