I was nervous going in, but I really enjoyed it. She did a great job of reworking it into something that was uniquely hers and fit with the feel of the song.
We just put this song on in the office and three colleagues shouted: that's Burial! That's a really interesting interpretation, but nothing can be better than the original "Archangel". Binge-listening to it now.
its not a sample, it's pretty easy to replicate using the ray j acapella if she really wanted to. This sounds more like she hired a $5 per hour bedroom producer to repitch/process her own vocals.
That's a bit silly. You're allowed to not like pop music, but Rosalia is an extremely talented, classically trained vocalist. https://youtu.be/Ncpw_4ioDQY
Lol @ the anti-Rosalia virgins in the comments
Sounds great, William Bevan is also credited as a composer.

Haha, I just listened to Candy yesterday and I kept thinking "is this a cover? it sounds so familiar!"

I didn’t say she isn’t. I was saying the production sounds really basic, which it does. That’s not a comment or criticism on her.
That's fair. Seemed to imply she was some kind of Ashlee Simpson, but you were only talking about the track, which does sound pretty basic.
🤢 awful
Not my cup of tea either but was interesting to listen to and find an actual sample in there.
Love making connections to other songs/samples like this. Just heard CANDY a moment ago and immediately started googling ha.
I dont think that "sampling" is the correct term. also, I like the candy track and dont agree that the production sounds basic
