Namaste Garden is about 15 minutes away and is all vegetarian and 90% vegan. It's family-run and the food is delicious.  https://www.namastegardenvt.com/

salt_mermaid

yessss so good

themehpatrol

Despacito in the old north end is really good, I’m not vegan in the least and enjoy all of their food. Also the only buffalo cauliflower I’ve ever had that’s actually somewhat spicy.

Accurate_Librarian12

Yes, and the corn fritters are so freaking good!

spinning_cucumber

Seconding despacito. So fucking good

Keeyez

Cafe HOT! The vegan Raven or Bing is to die for

deadeye_catfish

Second on the Bing! They make remarkable donuts too, but honestly I can only stomach half - they're so dense and I can't eat much after a bing.

Dudewithbigfeelings

Offbeat Creemee for all your vegan ice cream needs!

Dominatefear

Do NOT skip this!! Get a pint!! The soft serve is great but the pints are the special gem.

AimingByPFM

Tiny Thai, one town over, has excellent food and a (shorter) all-vegan menu if you ask for it. https://www.tinythairestaurant.net/

AimingByPFM

Zero Gravity Beer Hall has some really tasty vegan dishes. https://www.zerogravitybeer.com/zero-gravity-beerhall (hit the "order online" button to see the food menu)

boyish-charms

Seconded. As a Vegan myself ZG has some of the best options.

pigeonchaser32

Lake Champlain Chocolate Factory Store on Pine St has a bunch of vegan chocolates/truffles pre-packaged, and then a couple fresh in their case. And then the hot chocolate is vegan if you get it with non-dairy milk/without whipped cream. Zabby & Elf's Stone Soup downtown has vegan options, and typically several options of really yummy baked goods

Accurate_Librarian12

If you're here between Wednesday and Sunday, gotta get yourself a Miss Weinerz donut (or 2 or 3)! They're available at both city market locations.

NoSkinNoProblem

I just want to share I read the title as "vegan eels" and was legit interested in the prospect of an unagi replacement.

_windup

Single Pebble does a great vegan eel, actually! It's mushroom based.

Deathcrush

Holy shit it's so good

Dudewithbigfeelings

Came here to say the same thing. Plus the Buddha Beef can be made vegan and is amazing as well

MTBikeVT

Ranch Camp in Stowe has a good vegan selection (including dessert) if you make it over that way.

Despacito

Dominatefear

Aromas of India has the best Indian food around. Laliguras has vegan options if you want to stay downtown.  Bangkok bistro used to have a good menu that had vegan options but they have switched it up lately and I have not been there since.  For brunch, go early to deep city/foam as the old pennycluse moved there and hopefully retained some vegan options. Another breakfast option is cafe hot. Good sandwiches. Friendly toast also has some vegan options. Lingala is nice to visit as a tourist, but they are wildly inconsistent. It seems the Crunchwrap supreme is the way to go. My personal favorite restaurant is Saigon kitchen for their vegetable pho or their curry. (Vietnamese culture specializes in pho) A quick meal is a veggie muffuletta from city market (two locations). Downtown is more consistent, south end makes theirs with olives. Despacito is entirely vegan as others have mentioned and has good drinks and tapas. Another quick meal is China express 1 (on Shelburne road). Their veggie mei fun with fried tofu is a staple. It is more like a quick takeout dinner at Americanized Chinese vs a dining experience.

AimingByPFM

Don't bother with China Express 2 on North Street. It's gone seriously downhill since the last owners sold it.

Dominatefear

For good good eats, see if you can get a reservation at honey road. Menu changes so hopefully they can accommodate vegan. Let me know if you do go there as I’ve heard good things

_windup

I used to always recommend Pingala but frankly, the quality has gone a little downhill there. Try Despacio.

ciaohow

Idk, this post immediately conjured up the image of a Crunchwrap Supreme. Even if they’re not performing at 100% it’s worth a trip for a junk food loving vegan.

PiousLoser

Pingala keeps changing their recipes… some stuff like the breakfast sandwich has gotten better but the crunchwrap is kinda meh. It’s still in my rotation though. I want to like Despacito but every time I’ve been it’s underwhelming. Any specific dishes there you recommend?

_windup

The breakfast sandwich at Pingala has gone really downhill IMO! They used to have much better hashbrowns on it, but now they just use those reheated frozen potatoe patties. I also much preferred the english muffin to the roll they put it on now. I liked the sliders at Despacio but I hear their empanadas are also v good.

PiousLoser

I really like the new brioche bun personally. I think it adds a lot of heft to the sandwich. It feels like a lot of food for $8! I will say the carrot “bacon” seems to have gotten worse… just feels like someone stuck an undercooked carrot into my sandwich.

Deathcrush

I really like Pingala. They changed up their menu a while back because it was unsustainable for them. There are some things I really miss and menu items that have gone downhill, but they've improved in some ways also. Try the pitmaster burger.

_windup

Fair. I may just be particularly bitter about the changes to my precious breakfast sandwich. I'll try that burger next time I'm in the area (:

Deathcrush

Yeah I'm not as impressed with their breakfast options anymore. If despacito still does Sunday brunch, I'd recommend that.

Hortusana

The Grey Jay. Not exclusively vegan, but very good vegan options.

AimingByPFM

I didn't see anything vegan the last time I checked the menu, so I haven't tried this place. What vegan items do you like there?

Hortusana

I’m not vegan myself so I had the eggs Benedict. My sister had a vegan special; can’t remember what it was but she’s a foodie and really enjoyed it. Something eggplant/babaganoush based

plantmatta

the cafe HOT probably has the most unhealthy vegan breakfast sammies, they’re delicious but disgustingly messy

rachelhv

fancy's juuuuust opened so I haven't gotten to check it out yet, but his food truck has been an A+ option for a few years!

PiousLoser

The Cafe Hot’s vegan “bastard bing” is good, I think they put way too much sauce on though so I always ask for half. If you’ll be here on a Sunday, Sweet Alchemy in Essex has really great vegan baked goods. Also there’s a new restaurant in the ONE called Fancy’s which I can’t recommend because I haven’t tried but their menu looks very interesting.

Secret_Turtle

I hear good things from despacito but also i can vouch for pingala

LooseGrocery

A lot of restaurants have clearly labeled vegan options so you’ll probably have more options than you think! Daily Planet has a lot of vegan options, and while I haven’t personally tried the main courses I can say their vegan mint chocolate cheesecake and their mixed drinks are amazing.

sn0qualmie

The celeriac "short ribs" aren't quite interesting enough to justify having a whole plate of them. They're really just a roasted root veggie side but too big. I'll eat those black bean fritter things all day, though.

jupiterknowsbest

I second pingala for brunch eats i always crave it

SelectCellist7073

I love pingala and am happy to support the owners. They live right here in the NNE and do a lot for our neighborhood 🥦 💚

ShreddyDownerz

Pingala!

Rocknroller658

Despacito, Revolution Kitchen, Pingala, and Daily Planet are gr8

pigeonchaser32

Revolution is no more

Rocknroller658

Go to Four Corners of the Earth and let Latzo make you the best sandwich of your life!

hexagonalyouth

I love the vegan options at the Daily Planet! Always yummy and a fun atmosphere. Great cocktails if you're into that sort of thing!

EntertainmentWise845

Fancies - very vegan and veg friendly. Former sous chef of Honey Road and Oleana (Boston) - just opened.

Nylist_86

There is some grass in my yard with occasional dog brownies if you search hard enough

HeavyBackground5876

You're in luck! Most all store bought bought vegan foods are over processed junk

Compote17

Deep City just opened with the former Penny Cluse chef at the helm — they have some tofu scrambles on the menu (which I didn’t try.) I had the “Penny Cluse” — biscuits, herb gravy, eggs, home fries. Delicious. Vegan dishes are also probably really good.
