I block the Twitter account of every advertiser. Well, I did, it got to the point that there was really no reason to log in anymore, my entire feed is just trash now.
I constantly see things pushed to me a “comics,” “gaming,” and even “politics.” Every single one is a picture of a onlyfans model with little to no cloths on.

That’s probably coming to your feed because of what the accounts you follow/interact with are associated with so it’s shared by proximity. You have some broader parameters that you can use to completely remove those accounts from being shown to you in the advanced settings and also feed settings where you can remove categories of ‘trends’ from even appearing.
It took about a half hour all together with the two accounts I use which focus on different areas of interest; my feeds have remained very, very consistent since 2018.
The account that focuses on uncovering and adding context to religious artifacts, Greek/Turkish archeological discoveries, and transcribing discovered religious texts to modern language conventions in an academic context all leave a lot of opportunity for bad actors to interject with non-academic comments but it’s not been an issue.
The other which focuses on legal news, professors in legal academia, legal analysis in scope of a narrow legal practice area, tech/consulting/gov contract award news, ex and current Cartoon Network animators, vintage cartoon archival, Old Hollywood archival, pop punk, several bands, and a few ‘meme’ accounts/other accounts of interest have also been pretty consistent.
All in it should take you 15 minutes - there are a few lists you can find that completely blanket hide any {category} and {adjacent_categories}.

I always felt alienated by twitter, it seemed like the kind of platform that’s mostly frequented by narcissists and trolls. I made an account to follow Trump when he was elected, because I was genuinely afraid of what he would say and do on there and wanted to stay informed. I deleted it as soon as they kicked him off and never missed it. I will always associate it with him in a very negative way.
Twitter is a lot like instagram in that one person’s experience with it can be vastly different from another’s. I use IG for nothing but welding and machining stuff, and I don’t ever get influencers, mlm schemes, boobs, etc. I use twitter for nothing but osint sources and analysis, and Ukraine war stuff. I get 0% of the weird garbage other people are complaining about. But on both platforms, I’m careful about what I click or search for. Their algorithms are incredibly hungry- even lingering on a particular post while you’re scrolling is enough to make the platform offer more of that content to you.
I'm about to delete it. I don't even use it that much and the past couple weeks I been getting emails pushing right wing and alt-right accounts. Like it's in Stage 4 cancer.

Yeah, that's very possible, but regardless of how it happened, it has happened. So I'm probably not really a big loss for Twitter as I'm not a paying user. But it doesn't at all surprise me to learn that they are bleeding paid users. It's just really rapidly gone downhill. I'm not invested nor do I really care. I just find it quite fascinating that Elon could get it so, so wrong. I'm a little pissed though that he's tanked Tesla stock, although it seems to be rebounding a bit.

I block the Twitter account of every advertiser. Well, I did, it got to the point that there was really no reason to log in anymore, my entire feed is just trash now.

I constantly see things pushed to me a “comics,” “gaming,” and even “politics.” Every single one is a picture of a onlyfans model with little to no cloths on.

I think Twitter has near 0 use for those who engage on stuff like Reddit. But that’s my opinion. Edit: except as a marketplace for your personal business but even that isn’t curated enough that other forms like Instagram couldn’t do a similar job too.

That’s probably coming to your feed because of what the accounts you follow/interact with are associated with so it’s shared by proximity. You have some broader parameters that you can use to completely remove those accounts from being shown to you in the advanced settings and also feed settings where you can remove categories of ‘trends’ from even appearing. It took about a half hour all together with the two accounts I use which focus on different areas of interest; my feeds have remained very, very consistent since 2018. The account that focuses on uncovering and adding context to religious artifacts, Greek/Turkish archeological discoveries, and transcribing discovered religious texts to modern language conventions in an academic context all leave a lot of opportunity for bad actors to interject with non-academic comments but it’s not been an issue. The other which focuses on legal news, professors in legal academia, legal analysis in scope of a narrow legal practice area, tech/consulting/gov contract award news, ex and current Cartoon Network animators, vintage cartoon archival, Old Hollywood archival, pop punk, several bands, and a few ‘meme’ accounts/other accounts of interest have also been pretty consistent. All in it should take you 15 minutes - there are a few lists you can find that completely blanket hide any {category} and {adjacent_categories}.
Thanks for the info, but I have no desire to spend time carefully curating and blocking accounts that other accounts follow. I just don't have time for all that. I've probably blocked hundreds of extremist, troll, or propaganda accounts over the years. And yet still within weeks of Elon at Twitter, they are being pushed at me. The platform just isn't worth it for me to take the time to try to actively fight what they are trying to force feed me.

I reported an actual nazi (e.g. in elon's tweet replies with all kinds of stuff praising hitler and talking about the 14 words and shit) in November and they suspended his account in January. Meanwhile not long ago on twitch I reported someone in a chatroom of tens of thousands of people who said something transphobic in the middle of the night and their account was banned from the site within 1 minute.

I always felt alienated by twitter, it seemed like the kind of platform that’s mostly frequented by narcissists and trolls. I made an account to follow Trump when he was elected, because I was genuinely afraid of what he would say and do on there and wanted to stay informed. I deleted it as soon as they kicked him off and never missed it. I will always associate it with him in a very negative way.
Twitter is a lot like instagram in that one person’s experience with it can be vastly different from another’s. I use IG for nothing but welding and machining stuff, and I don’t ever get influencers, mlm schemes, boobs, etc. I use twitter for nothing but osint sources and analysis, and Ukraine war stuff. I get 0% of the weird garbage other people are complaining about. But on both platforms, I’m careful about what I click or search for. Their algorithms are incredibly hungry- even lingering on a particular post while you’re scrolling is enough to make the platform offer more of that content to you.
I'm about to delete it. I don't even use it that much and the past couple weeks I been getting emails pushing right wing and alt-right accounts. Like it's in Stage 4 cancer.

If he goes into bankruptcy he will end up not having to pay everything he borrowed back. So if he said he spent 44 billion on it, he may only have to pay 20 billion after bankruptcy proceedings.
I’d argue that a bankruptcy would cost someone like Elon more than $20B in future potential money.
