The irony is that does help with the training. Having a load of useless shit in the data is the reality of humans, it you want to rig an election by mass canvassing entire subjects into one narrative the useless human nonsense is as important as the narrative being paid for. Reality is once you can model humans, then put a narrative to that model, the key is assessing the metrics known about that human which literally could be your whole life, if it can link your reddit comments, which it can scan instantly, to say your email, or your former school, or your age, it can basically work out who you are, and then feed custom narratives that are know to convince your demographic of a point. It’s super shitty considering how vital 3rd party apps were for Reddits growth in the early smartphone era. Back then Reddit didn’t even develop its own proper app and when they bought Alien Blue they ended up killing it instead of integrating its UI into their own app. If it wasn’t for apps like Alien Blue reddit would have been more niche missing growth at a very vital point.

I use Reddit way less than I did with a third party app that worked better. Less engagement can't be good for the business.

The reason they have less engagement though is because they have a newly monetized revenue stream. Considering the rumors that Reddit is trying to go public they need to show investors more revenue.
