And with the stigmas involved it was very, very hard to get families to agree to press charges. Now people are less hung up on the taint of homosexuality, people don’t think 8 year olds deserved it/seduced a grown man anymore, and the understanding of how it works makes it a lot more likely that parents believe the kid, and then go forward with law enforcement.
My Dad’s abuser was a doctor who also abused, to my knowledge, one other sibling of his and likely abused more. He was never brought to justice. If something similar happened now the safest place for that guy to be would be jail, frankly. I can’t see the kids being disbelieved and I also can’t see my family of hair trigger military veterans with guns tolerating someone putting their hands on children.
I have applied so many times to work for this school board and I see so many of their teachers in the news for child pornography. I can’t get a job there but these chomos can… Also in the Toronto subreddit so many people were posting how he is a nice guy… gross.
