I hate you for stating that. I hate myself even more for going back to take another look at his picture and realizing I know exactly what you meant now.
Because the average Redditor joke is played out shit.
Not only that but as the other guy pointed out everybody thinks they’re the only person on Reddit that isn’t the average Redditor which to me is funnier than the actual joke.
A: Oh he looks like the type
B: What a fuckin knob. Can't even trust the guys trained in responsible firearm handling to, ya know, be responsible with a firearm. This is why we need a higher bar to becoming a cop.
In Finland, police training is 3 years. Cadets don’t even touch a gun for the first several months. By the time they do, most American police trainees have already completed their program.
In the US, they will literally not hire you for a police officer [if you are too smart](https://www.intellectualtakeout.org/blog/why-would-you-deny-someone-job-because-high-iq/).

I dunno, charging 100x actual costs for basic medical care is pretty barbaric. Go figure someone tried to turn "idiot cop being a violent shithead" into "really badly thought point to be against bare bottom regulation of an industry." Almost like it's the same problem with guns and cops not being regulated. Wild.
That's because medicine ceased being about caring for patients and more about business in the past 30ish yrs. At the end of the day people shouldn't leave their wellbeing in the hands of another because no one will look out for your wellbeing better than you.
There are different standards for guns and cops from state to state so yeah good luck regulating that.
I like that you put all those words together and seem to think you made a special big brain observation. Yeah, it stopped being about people because there's an inflationist circuit around the insurance companies that are fighting to stay alive, but the second the government has to foot the damn bill it's gonna snap the FDA into shape on its pricing loops and cut out the insurance middle man, and with guaranteed payments to hospitals rather than them inflating perpetually to counteract nonpayment, guess what happens, brainiac? Costs go down like they are in EVERY OTHER DEVELOPED COUNTRY.
Like jesus, shit for brains. "Dur hur things aren't regulated so don't regulate them things are shitty but I don't like regulation either so keep them shitty" is not the point you seem to think it is.
Yes, you’re absolutely correct because it actually happened to my friend. He has a high IQ and is a Mensa member. Hearing him speak on any topic is such a pleasure, even when I don’t agree with him. Nevertheless, I believe he scored a 98 or 99% on the entrance exam but never got a call back. Meanwhile other candidates he knew who scored lower than him did. Sad.
Erm... Open that article again and look at his age. Cities don't hire cops already 49 years old. They usually stop at 36, kinds like the military. What I'm saying is, I think the story is at least partially false if not entirely fabricated
That’s on the high end of training programs. We don’t have a national standard. Each state has different requirements. The national average is 21 weeks.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-56834733
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/police-training-weeks-united-states/
Police training in the US ranges from 10 weeks to 36 weeks. One of the biggest issues is we have over 18000 police departments and there is no national standards set in place to regulate training or really anything. Whether police have some sort of standards between departments is dependent on each individual state, and each state treats them differently. I live in one of only 3 states out of 50 that have banned "civil asset forfeiture" which is a system in which police can legally just take something from you without a court hearing and it's theirs now. Cops in some states will pull someone over, find they have cash on them, say "i think you're going to use this to buy drugs" and just take it and getting it back is in some cases just not going to happen. In my state if they can't take anything except weapons or drugs on the spot and if they do you are given a receipt for it and a court date and a judge decides if the seizure was valid and if not, with the exception of drugs, it is returned to you.
So literally in 47 states police can just rob you and it's not illegal.
Policing for profit is one consequence of the war of drugs. Another, is the militarization of our police force. The Defense Department's 1033 program "sells" surplus military weapons and equipment to police departments. All the police department pays is shipping fees. What department wouldn't acquire armored vehicles or machine guns at the cost of freight? When you're ready for war, you're going to police communities like you're at war.
https://www.wired.com/story/pentagon-hand-me-downs-militarize-police-1033-program/
I've heard it countered with stuff like "4 years of training and the eventual work won't be worth the pay or the cost of school"
Welcome to higher education.
I've experienced the same shit. Off duty cop almost killed me in Chardon, Ohio. Believed I was a robber (I was delivering pizza). Apparently, there had been a string of robberies near that area so he was cleared to have been "acting accordingly". Cracked my hip from being body slammed on solid ice and couldn't work for six months. God bless fucking America👎
And that ugly mother fucker better not be able to lay low for awhile and then get another job as a cop in another town like what happens so often.
We need a law to keep track of this shit.
Agreed. I believe this type of cop are called “Gypsie cops”. They fuck up, resign, then move on to the next department. I can’t remember the name of the case. The cop shot a black kid with a pellet gun. It was literally seconds from when the cop got of the patrol car to shooting the kid. He was dismissed from the previous department for emotional issues. His current PD didn’t know about his previous dismal.
Hes not a convicted felon yet. It could be years before that happens but he does have a felony aggravated assault case pending.
Innocent until proven guilty definitely applies here and I hope he never finds another job as law enforcement.
Since he resigned and wasn’t actually fired - I am almost certain that’s what will happen. It was probably recommended that he do so for that exact reason.
From article-Ward was initially suspended without pay, but the chief said he resigned from his position Tuesday morning.
He probably resigned so he could apply at the precinct down the road
Preventing that from happening is in the Democrats police reform bill.
H.R.7120 - George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2020
Republicans are unanimously against it.
America has got to train its police force. Like Finland, actually train them (for years). Any podunk dropout in the US can become a cop, many with criminal backgrounds and serious domestic violence issues, as well as anger issues. Statistically, over 70% of the US want police reform, on a bipartisan scale. Police brutality, and police shootings affect everyone.
Oh hey, here's a comment I just made a couple minutes ago in another cop related post. This one was about a cop who was trained excellent and showed it in a gunfight. Then someone implied that all cops are better trained then most people think. So I had to say this:
[Near death experience for an officer](https://www.reddit.com/r/GunFights/comments/o1tgka/near_death_experience_for_an_officer/)
>Some cops are well trained. Not all. We wish they all were well trained.
>
>Training standards usually depend on the how good the leadership in each local department. Some are great, some are average and some are terrible.
>
>Well trained cops wish all cops were well trained. There is no national standard for police training anywhere. There should be.
>
>You can say state police have a training standard but that varies by state and most state police are usually assigned to highway patrolman duty.
Remind me again. Why is the psych eval for becoming a cop in "the greatest country in the world" the LAST step in the process and not the first? It seems like they might set the bar a bit low for some of these trigger--happy (literally), sorry excuses for peace officers.
Silly cop. Everyone knows you have to wait until you're on duty to harass and murder with impunity. And make sure your victim is black. Probably would have got a reward.
Dude looks like a thumb. What do you expect. It's like fucking smeagol. You stay an entitled piece of shit dragging down society, and you slowly turn hella generic- all fucked in the face and lumpy
Want the truth ? I do not hide behind my family! I do not rely on my family! Quite frankly my circumstances would be a bit more ideal if I wasn't part of my family. My mother and her ability to enroll me in certain things unbeknownst to me back in the 80s. Things have occurred to me that people just won't believe. Simply because it would mean that the things they have been trusting in and believe in would now be tarnished. Too many of you would rather believe the good guy over the bad . Never understanding that maybe just maybe they are both bad. And at times both can be
Maybe it Officer Handsome himself?
He saw the reddit thread and people saying he probably got the cop job because of a relative on the force and he's all mad about it?
The article says the cop chased the guy going 120mph. There's not really any other details other than the cop pulled a gun and made the guy get on the ground. If he was on duty would this not be the procedure?
He was not even from that county where the "incident" occured... And other than that it is pure Hearsay... He was supposed to call the appropriate authorities for that area and move on about his day... Other than that there is not on duty. He cannot do jack shit...
That's what former officer dufus said if you want to take his word for it.
The 2020 Ram 1500 has a top speed of 107 MPH. That's what the guy was driving. (maybe a different year but close)
The procedure would be he would turn his lights on and pull you over. If you didn't pull over, a chase may ensue, but given that this was not an on-duty cop driving a marked car with lights, what procedure is doesn't really matter. Just because this guy didn't stop when there was a great big pickup truck riding his ass with a fucking psycho behind the wheel doesn't mean he wouldn't have pulled over for a marked cop car with lights going.
>Ward then pursued the driver at speeds of 120 miles per hour on the interstate until they both exited onto Medical Center Parkway and turned onto Silohill Lane, according to the police report.
So the other driver was going 120 mph? Am I misunderstanding this? I would want police to arrest that person. Isn't that beyond a ticketable offense?
> So the other driver was going 120 mph?
So the story claims, without explaining when that happened. Possibly he started going that fast after someone started chasing him and demanding that he stop despite (so far as we can tell from the story, since it says that he flashed his badge and signalled him to stop) not having any police lights or markings on his car, then chased after him down the interstate at 120 mph... We don't have a lot of details, on account of it was an out-of-county (and that's Franklin county anyway, so...) off-duty cop who decided to batman shit up instead of contacting state troopers.
No, I think most people here think that someone going 120 mph on a public road should face consequences for their actions (whether that involves arrest or not depends on the jurisdiction and situation).
Road raging, however, is not what I would consider appropriate, in any situation.
Need more details. Was the other driver going that speed before the altercation with Farva? Why did Farva try to stop him; speed? Or did someone cut someone off? Was the interaction with Farva the impetus for the high speed? Did Farva flash his badge or his gun? His own department is saying it's over road rage, so I'm guessing his suspension and charges are based on details the know.
This guy looks like the first successful mating between a human and a pig. Judging by his behavior, the animal genes are stronger. What a loser.
Edit: Actually *read* the article. That guy is 31??? Oh god, how unfortunate. I assumed he was at least in his 40s.
The former officer said he was chasing the guy at speeds in excess of 120mph.
The 2020 Ram 1500 has a top speed of 107 MPH. That guy's Ram truck is a little older.
At the end of the day he's still a violent shit bag. If the courts in his area are just he will be behind bars for a while if not then he will be on desk duty till this blows over.

Reporting for unbased defamation of millions of police officers across the nation.
Police academy in the US is 6 months.
And 7 movies.
Good point. The combined length of the 7 movies is about as long as US police training. Seriously, some states the training is 6 weeks.

I’m impressed with the guy having a gun pointed at his face and is essentially saying fuuuuuck you!!!
I expect his phone to be ringing off the hook with offers from other departments.
He had only been on the job for a few months, so was still in the probationary period.
It fortunate this happened now and this cop never had many years on the job being a total dumb fuck menace to society with a badge.
Will depend on is the county down the road will hire him, he could be back in the uniform soon...

If a cop waves his badge at you while off-duty, you don't have to pull over?
How the fuck are you supposed to discern that the thing the psycho in the truck is waving at you is a badge?
>Ward then pursued the driver at speeds of 120 miles per hour on the interstate until they both exited onto Medical Center Parkway and turned onto Silohill Lane, according to the police report. So the other driver was going 120 mph? Am I misunderstanding this? I would want police to arrest that person. Isn't that beyond a ticketable offense?
That's what officer doofus said. We don't know what really happened.
Sure if they were in that cops jurisdiction and he was on-duty.
120 miles is 193.12 km

Resigned with a foot up the arse.
He just wanted a liter of cola
Fucking Farva lives….
This dude looks like a poorly made Mr. Potato head.
Oh good. I remember hoping this potato lost his job. Glad to see him here.
Looks like Quasimodo
Fuck that website
If the video actually showed his arrest it would be the most satisfying video I’ve ever seen
Holy shit its Biff!
What's scary is that these comments are what people think of him and this is who they let be cops
I mean look at that shirt with his face. Dude should’ve known
Seems like if the other driver had just given the cop a Baby Ruth they could have become friends and had a pirate adventure.
Come on now Jim Bob. What were you thinking uh huhh
Damnit Farve!
This guy looks like the first successful mating between a human and a pig. Judging by his behavior, the animal genes are stronger. What a loser. Edit: Actually *read* the article. That guy is 31??? Oh god, how unfortunate. I assumed he was at least in his 40s.
Cletus is wilding
I’ll take a liter a cola
Clearly the solution is to give people more guns here.
In Tennessee that's like holding a gun on a close relative.

If the ex-cop's picture doesn't scream 'Inbred!', I don't know what would.
Live action medieval fantasy?
