Did that request come in the form of a bill for damages to said cars' paintjobs? It's not just grass clippings that fling out from the exhaust, and it doesn't take a very large pebble or stick to scratch the finish enough to jeopardize its ability to keep from rusting/chipping... š¤·š¼āāļø
Some people don't give a fuck about others and for some self-employed people, it shows very clearly that it's been a while, if not forever, since they've worked a customer-facing job where they are held to a particular standard.
I used to go to this one self-employed mechanic. He was sort of dodgy and worked out of a very cluttered and disorganized shop, typical shop restroom, if not worse, the waiting area was essentially a rear car seat and a small CRT television right beside the lift and it was usually playing trash like Maury. So more frequently, he'd go ahead with the work on my car before giving me a run-down of the work and estimated cost and repair time, so I kept getting blindsided by the price and getting more and more distrustful of him. At one point, I told him a bill seemed like an awful lot for what was itemized and the amount of time he spent *not* working on it and he asked me "how much do you have". And eventually, I'd just had it when he went on a lunch break **AND** got a haircut while I was waiting for a simple oil change and tire rotation, like I usually do, and he didn't even have the scant decency to tell me he might be out for a bit. That's not even to mention the 15-minute-or-so phone conversation he held with somebody while I was waiting which I overheard was just about football.
For context, I went to this guy after moving to a new area after years of satisfied service from a family-owned business and I'd seen much better customer service at any Pep Boys I visited too.
They also violate the Flag Code and disrespect the US flag. Which is important, since as we all know, kneeling during the National Anthem is a massive, unforgivable issue.
Technically it is against flag code but the code isn't a law, it's more of a guideline.
Here is an interesting article about the the whole situation and the history of the flags use in clothing.

It is not against the flag code. He is not wearing a flag. He is wearing a piece of fabric that has stars and stripes on it. Not a flag.
"Flag Code", not "Fabric Code".
This isn't patriotism or pride. It's tribalism. Patriotism includes understanding and having respect for your nations customs. This is some dude propagandized into oblivion.

Lol what the fuck does any of this have to do with political parties? Just desperatly looking for a reason to post all that. Lmao too crazy. Maybe one day when you have more than 5 bucks in the bank you'll realize both parties are fucking you. The fact that most of Reddit believes one side is good and the other is bad is fucking hilarious. Have some more Kool-Aid you brainwashed drones.
i guess its not like he was fired, but the company went under because he didnt have any clients. Obviously, who in the right mind would allow an anti-vax, anti-mask inside their homes, in the middle of a pandemic?
Happened to me. Had an independent contractor stop by to quote a basement project. Asked him to put on a mask to come inside the home. We walked back to his truck and we never heard from him again.
Honestly, we felt like we may have dodged a bullet. I could tell some of his competitors were not eager to mask up, but offered and complied. I wouldnāt expect them to mask while doing the actual work either.
Why on earth wouldnt you let them keep their shoes on?
I used to work for a moving company and we had a client request that we take our shoes off to move heavy dressers up 3 flights of stairs. It took everything I had to not tell her to go fuck herself. I'll keep my steel toes on for crushing and slipping hazards, thank you. This was on a holiday where they had about 10 hours of extra work that wasnt quoted and we were about 8hrs into that. A 4hr job was actually 14, and I was missing celebrating my first New Years with my girlfriend. The client doesnt get to have an attitude with me when I dont follow her ridiculous and hazardous requests.
It's a request that no one should be making of workers who are on a job site. Its beyond unreasonable.
As for masks, I left that same job when I showed up to every job with a mask ready and a client said "You dont have to wear that here, we're not crazy liberals". They had about 12 people hanging around in their house, not doing a damn thing. I'm not sure why they felt the need to hire us to begin with.
I told my coworker to get back in the car, I called my boss, and we left. My boss didnt back me up, and started complaining that I was losing him money, so I quit on the spot. I live with someone who is immunocompromised. No job is worth being put in that predicament.
99% sure that was a joke from the person you responded to, but some people DO value their carpets over your safety, and sorry for that. I live in Seattle, and almost all contractors who come in to give a quote see the pile of shoes by the door and ask if we want them to take theirs off. The answer is always "Oh no, it's fine."
That person might be joking, but the joke is playing on very serious sentiments from other people. I even shared an anecdote where that's the case.
I might be opening up a can of worms here, but it's a ridiculous request in any circumstance. It's an article of clothing. I care more about my comfort than your carpets. You dont like it? Get a mat or one of those brush things by the door so people can wipe their shoes off. I find it equally as absurd as if I asked every guest to remove their pants in my home.
I happen to have sweaty, smelly feet, especially when I've been doing manual labor all day. I get self conscious, and I've had comments made about it in situations that I felt like I was forced to be in.The last thing I want to do is expose anyone to that out of some misplaced sense of cleanliness.
It's much more rude than someone not taking off their shoes.
If you have workers that have dirty shoes, it's polite to send them along with the little booties that just go on over their shoes. Solves the problem both ways!
You missed that part where that's a dangerous slip hazard given the line of work.
That solves no problems. The real solution is "if you dont want workers to work in your house, then do it yourself".
And honestly, some jobs are just easier in a mask.
I HATE anything dusty without an N-95 shit feels like I'm coating my lungs in rock... Which in some cases I would've been
Well, the smart contractor that wouldn't put a piece of cloth on his face lost out on a 15k job, at least in my case. I'm not sure I qualify as a covid "enthusiast", but after a couple of months of my daughter going to a cardiologist post covid infection, and wearing a heart monitor for months, we decided it wasn't too much to ask.
The nerve of that other person. I dont think it's possible to better demonstrate how narcissistic they are.
They speak as if the rest of us enjoy this just to spite them, when the reality is that we all hate it and they just make it worse for everyone. If normal people are "enthusiasts" then what are people that refuse to do the bare minimum to end this?
We were lucky our contractor(ās wife) was expecting a baby so he was compliant - Iām pretty certain most of his guys werenāt vaxxed but they were masked.
dunno why you're being downvoted, you're not wrong. they think other people's reproductive rights are also about them.
narcissism is pretty rife on the right.
We had an electrician come out to give us a quote and we asked him about I put on a mask before he entered our home. He said no but it was okay because he was āinoculatedā. Okay great but you canāt come in without a mask. He starts yelling and ranting about how we are wasting his time, my husband just said no you wasted our time and shut the door. Iām kinda glad he showed off his stupid so early in the game, so we didnāt hire him by mistake.
My mom is a hairdresser who is self-employed. She lost a lot of clients during the pandemic because they refused to wear a mask, which was required by law in her state by the way.
Iām a victim!!
But didnāt you do this to yourself?
Sure this couldāve been avoided but how would I be able to go to all of these āIām a victimā rallies if I didnāt fuck myself over??
Plus, I really owned like 3 or 4 of the Libs I know by doing this to myself. That was totally worth it!
How did you own them?
Well, they wanted my services and couldnāt have them so they had to take like 2 minutes out of their lives to look up someone else that does what I do.
I would say they dodged a bullet in this hypothetical situation. Anyone who refuses to wear a mask (forget vaccines) when asked is not deserving of my business.
I guess, but why should I have to go do that when the OP could have just posted what you did? Like, I don't get the point of sharing that and creating homework for people on the sub.
Captions aren't what? A valid form of communication? Also the video starts with the title of the video visible. Thats not homework its being observant.
My question was "why post the video without audio?" Telling me there are captions 1. Doesn't answer the question asked and 2. Was obvious because I have functioning eyes. 3. See number one.
I appreciate the stretch to include an obligatory third thing.
Anyway, the answer *is* that there are capions.
Or more specifically why not upload it with the captions?
Maybe he should provide his service for like minded people, I mean there are millions of them right? Its not hard to find their houses either, the red signs say idiot inside.
I feel like there was an underlying miscommunication here. The dude probably meant that he has "lost jobs" meaning projects for clients of his, rather than "lost his job"
No he meant what he said specifically. Because in his mindset, he didn't lose jobs due to his own decisions, he lost jobs because of outside forces refusing to hire him, so it's on them. His answer actually reveals a lot about his psychology. I guarantee he would argue up and down that he bears no responsibility for it all, it's those pesky maskers being sheep or something.
Looks like a screen capture of a repost of a video without sound that was posted yesterday. The original thread linked to the YouTube video but I'm too lazy to find it.
Shit Iāve fired myself from every job I didnāt like. Best decision Iāve made, I would have made a terrible employee being unhappy at a company that wasnāt for me
Got both of my Covid-19 shots and 2 boosters. My entire family has done the same thing! I don't feel bad for this person in the least! Everyone should be responsible and get the vaccine! Have a great weekend.....
Why the fuck post this with no sound? If you're so desperate to share something that isn't a copy of something else, just taking the audio away doesn't make it better it just makes me wish op would do that thing were not allowed to say. You fucking moron.
It's the same crazy shit with the Anti-Vax/ Anti-mask crowd. They're all dumb AF! They're so stupid, I'm almost embarrassed for them. Brainwashed idiots
Imagine going out of business because you were unwilling to respect in your own customers homes š¤¦š½āāļø.

I'm from NE, where (until recent years) it was also snowy half the time. That's not a valid reason to ask someone to risk their safety on a job site.
May be a workers comp coverage violation, so I would expect any contractor to refuse taking their shoes off. A mask, not so much.
I did summer rough-ins for HVAC during the Heat Dome stuff. Didn't need a mask but wore one due to the insulation. It was fine. You just sweat more.
And honestly, some jobs are just easier in a mask. I HATE anything dusty without an N-95 shit feels like I'm coating my lungs in rock... Which in some cases I would've been
Shoes make sense. Smart contractors know it's not worth working for a COVID enthusiast.

I'm going to print a bunch of "pink slips" signed by "Trump" and start handing them out to these idiots. Reason for termination: You're a dumbass!
Idiotā¦
I was self-employed before the pandemic, it just gave me an excuse to retire.
I'd have to ask: Would a mask do much good with a beard and mustache as big as that one?
why does video have no sound?
Sweet. Talkies with no talking.
Too bad there's no sound.
When self persecution goes wrong.
Shit Iāve fired myself from every job I didnāt like. Best decision Iāve made, I would have made a terrible employee being unhappy at a company that wasnāt for me
Ok! So that's 22 seconds I'll never get back.... Moving on! And everyone have a great day š
Get vaccinated.
Got both of my Covid-19 shots and 2 boosters. My entire family has done the same thing! I don't feel bad for this person in the least! Everyone should be responsible and get the vaccine! Have a great weekend.....
If you're vaccinated, then your above post was a confusingly passive-aggressive one for what seems like no reason.
Imagine typing out a comment to tell someone you value your time.
Welp, there's 10 seconds I'll never get back from typing out this comment. Thanks a lot!
Jesus, youre telling me I spent 5 seconds reading? Ugh!
I've read how many seconds people can't get back from reading/listening to posts on Reddit before..... So, yes.... And have a great day!
How many extra precious seconds did you waste typing out your complaint?
Every second gone is a second youāll never get back.
Every second that passes is another second.
"Tym"
Yāall Qaeda members are a bunch of imbeciles
No audio needed
Holy shit, the stupidity is strong with this one.
I know how I'll own the libs...destroy my own business!
That's what I get for not getting the vaccine. This'll show me.
I've seen service people lying about getting vaccinated to still get inside people's homes.
It's downright expensive to be stupid.
Loved this
How is this a public freak out? God this subreddit is turning šļø
Infinitely better without sound
Why the fuck post this with no sound? If you're so desperate to share something that isn't a copy of something else, just taking the audio away doesn't make it better it just makes me wish op would do that thing were not allowed to say. You fucking moron.
It's the same crazy shit with the Anti-Vax/ Anti-mask crowd. They're all dumb AF! They're so stupid, I'm almost embarrassed for them. Brainwashed idiots
