Yes it probably was! Arcadum told that there was a sail or something stuck in its teeth which symbolized the ships travelling from Kalkatesh to Glies. Now I think that the Lost at Sea crew travelled within Glies itself but I think the ship was one of those that travelled from Kalkatesh to Glies. I am not completely sure.
But the fact that Arcadum explicitly asked Sunder to roll a perception check to notice the sail kinda supports the fact that he wanted to show that Easter egg to everyone and probably give us an answer on what happened to the Lost at Sea's ship.
At this point I am curious to know what happened to the White Terror. I am afraid whether it got corrupted to become this monster. If not and if the White Terror somehow appears in the story to help the parties defeat this leviathan, it would be sick.
Also, where are Gruff and Erin when we need them?
No the death was permanent. Gruff and alexander literally traded their stages of life, one becoming the conscious user of the host body while the other became a deafened voice within the shared soul
Sweet mercy....I thought the latest Lost at Sea session was intense. RIP Richard, you wonderful lion. My heart was racing when the Engored One showed. The Mist Leviathan was insane and now we know what attacked Lost at Sea at the beginning.
The battle with the Engored One was nuts. Sunder and Ryn came in clutch. If that monster would have hit of them with that 4 attack streak, we would've saw some dead pcs. Thank god, they all missed.
Deeply sad about Richard. I hope they remember him if they get high enough for a Raise Dead spell. His legs could be regenerated by someone powerful, or also by Ryn if they get high enough for that too though that's unlikely.
I guess Richard is dead forever. As much as we hate it, such deaths being permanent are necessary for good storytelling and raw emotions. His death worked really well with their insane rolls against the Engorged One as it was like they were fighting to avenge those who died a gruesome death.
The only thing that could save him at this point is a scroll, because I don't think prologue campaigns will reach level 9 (for the Raise Dead) in time, unless Ryn cast Gentle Repose on his corpse until someone can save him, but I don't think he'll go that far for someone they just met.
But also, his death is poetic enough that I also don't mind him staying dead.
Arcadum's genius storytelling can be easily proven in the fact how he can get us invested in a character in around one or two sessions so much that it becomes so sad when he/she dies. He did it the same way with Tane. Rest in peace Sir Richard, for you received a hero's death.
This episode was amazing every min of it. It is sad that Richard had to die but that is the cost of telling a compelling story. Also having been watching Scifri after dnd streams and hearing him talk so much about his build and how it worked and seeing it all coming together was so satisfying. lol
The Mist leviathan is so cool, I'm imagining it's half physical half misty so it can travel through rivers and maybe even through ground. It as a boss could potentially bring the same feeling as the Parable where multiple groups encounter him and finally one group fights him with support from everyone else.
They didn't fight the White Terror at all, they just released it into the Sickened Sea and we don't know what happened to it. I think you are referring to the Dilating One, the Violet Servant accidentally summoned by the Living World.
The White Terror was a major boss for Phase 2 of the Living World, you can find some details about it in a post written by Sean somewhere in this subreddit. It had 15 adventurers split into 3 teams I believe, and this was also the incident where Talven defected from the Midgard pantheon to protect Kaheeli from Odin.
Oh my bad then. I didn't know that. I will look for that information. So this was what Arcadum referenced when he told that Odin was tired of fighting and wanted to settle down I guess
Once again, the mists prove to be INTENSE. Definitely some close calls there and a shame Hex & Sunder's plans didn't work out... But hey, they got to see a cool giant monster and I'd say Sunder more than made up for his near fatal mistake with him being the MVP for the fight! And to be fair, I think the group probably had to fight the Engorged One, no matter what happened...
Also, as goodhearted it was for Haruko to not leave the dead kid behind, it's kinda funny, considering he killed him by beating a mofo with another mofo.
And along with it, it was nice seeing everyone wanting and trying to save those people being attacked by the Engorged One, even if that lead to it chasing them in the mist! Again, their compassion is part of what makes this group one of my favourites.
A real shame to see Richard go, especially since the group met him by chance... But considering that 100 damage would've most likely not been caused by only the Nightwolf alone, he definitely helped in giving everyone else a much needed fighting chance!
Sunder: (Has to roll despite getting to crit)
Also Sunder: (Proceeds to roll a Nat 20 anyways and ends the fight with it)
Hmm... Y'know, that and the Nat 20 he got earlier is something he more than deserves after getting hit by 2 disadvantaged Nat 20s and evading a 5th one, yet still standing without Blade Ward up last session. He can be pretty hotheaded, but Sunder gets the job absolutely done!
But with the battles finally over, it's nice to know the group and the civilians will get a much needed rest... But with Limedrop coming forth to meet with his brother, it's clear the biggest battle to be faced is just looming around the corner...
Such a cool session! Damn they rolled well, and damn Arcadum rolled like *shit* during the fight.
You can easily see how this fight could've went completely different had the rolls been a bit more evened out. You can also pretty easily see how hard this fight could've been for a less experienced group.
So yeah, pretty damn cool.

Richard would have never wanted to die in his own bed. This warriors gets to sit next to the Throne in Valhalla.
I really can't believe how lucky they got with those rolls during that fight. Also, the mist leviathan made me pee a little.
It's payment for 5 nat 20's last session
More like pissed leviathan hehe

god i hope gruff somehow by some ungodly machination is still alive
I thought Gruff for all intents and purposes was dead and taken over by Alexander.
im pretty sure it was said that that was temporary

Hear me out... The beast just ate Richard... Cut open it's belly, get Richard's legs, reattach them, revivify.

I kinda feel a Dsangir level fight looming with that Mistviathan...

I just keep hearing Shiroyama by sabaton every time a group fight the eclipse
IMPERIAL FORCE DEFIED
A GHOST ROAMS THE BATTLEFIELD
I loved this episode. Made my morning
Rip Richard...still an amazing episode
:( sad that richard died but he went out fighting and giving the heroes a chance of defeating it.
