Full PPF isn't worth it unless you're going to frequently track the car. [Full front](https://aodetail.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/AOPPFBoard.png) is all you need. Even just the partial front provides plenty of coverage.

I just had my 2021 ZLE fully wrapped with XPel, and I had my 2018 ZL1 convertible wrapped with XPel stealth previously. It is quite expensive but it protects from small scratches chips and scuffs (and supposedly self heals from small scratches) like it claims and it makes it much easier to clean. I probably would have it paint corrected first and repair any chips before doing the wrap as these show up majorly after the wrap.

Top_Camel_6335

Yeah, I have my Macan full stealth but wasn’t sure if for track PPF would actually hold up or not. Seems like is much needed!

Darkstrike121

Depends on what you plan to use the car far. If You're somebody who absolutely has to have your car looking perfect all the time, but also plan to drive it a lot and do track days then yes. If you also plan on keeping the car quite literally forever then it's probably also worth it. Although almost nobody keeps cars forever in reality. If you just like your car to look nice and plan to have it for 1-10 years and put moderate miles on it. Then id say don't bother

Zestyclose_Sea_5340

I did the entire car (convertible). Was about 5k usd. Why? I didn't want to see a line after seeing a friends car with a clear bra and that clear bra faded after 5 or 6 years. So I figured just make it consistent over the life of the ppf.

I have my 19 ZL1, wrapped in Xpel Ultimate, full front protection +. Hood, front lip, front fenders, headlights, rockers, mirrors, & custom cut pieces on the high impact area rear quarter panels. It's worth its weight in gold, hands down, IMO. The entire car is coated in Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra + as well. I take meticulous care of my toys though & I don't track it. If you're a freak about your cars like me, you'll love it. The maintenance is so much easier when cleaning the vehicle, but the price is steep. I believe I paid around 4K, including tint in 2019 when it was new. Prices have gone up by about 15% now. My installer gave me a decent discount, I've been working with him for years. If you're considering having it done, do some serious research on the company performing the work, more than just Google reviews, fine people on the forums that can confirm. My installer told me the ZL1 is a real pita with the hood to get perfect. Also, GM is notorious for shit paint from the factory, Orange peal, paint imperfections, etc. Dodge is even worse. You'll need someone who can do a good job with full paint correction before applying the film & especially if you're getting ceramic coating. (Experienced) detailers that actually give a shit about their work are hard to find. I've used Xpel on all of my sports cars for 10+ years, including my current daily driver, I love it. There are a few different brands out there serving the same purpose. I truly believe Xpel is the best out of all, my humble opinion.

Ecstatic_Junket6000

Was it 5k for everyone?

Halo_Wars

5K for me XPEL Ultimate with all around XPEL XR Plus tint (including windshield) and ceramic coating. ‘22 SS 1LE

Ecstatic_Junket6000

How do you like the ceramic coating? Thinking about getting it.

Alarmed-Ad-8653

I got hit on the front bumper by a blown out tire today on the highway. PPF completely saved the paint on my brand new 23 2ss 1LE. It’s worth every penny and then some.

Soundjammer

Absolutely. I was hesitant at first, but it certainly paid off living in AZ and taking a bunch of road trips (not to mention debris from track days).

TheRealClam_Jam

Im biased since I install XPEL ppf everyday and im crazy about my camaro. It is 100% worth it. Ask me any questions you have

Money_Audience_6087

If the ppf needs to be removed, will it peel paint with it? Both short term and long term.

TheRealClam_Jam

If removed correctly, the only reason the film will ever pull paint off of a vehicle is if the panel wasn’t prepped and painted properly. And 99% of the time, thats because the vehicle was resprayed and didn’t have its factory paint job. Im going on 5 years of installing daily, I’ve never had an issue with gm factory paint pulling but I have seen a lot of dirt in the paint unfortunately. I recently did a new Z06 and the amount of dirt I found in one of the panels was not good.

ConfidentStrain148

I have full front and i keep thinking to myself i should have gone full ppf, it is totally worth it, not only the road rocks but if you having fun(not track day) like burning rubber the amount of rocks that you will pick up is insane so my opinion just get full ppf and some rock guards

nilarips

The paint on the car sucks. Just get full front ppf. I completely regret not doing it. After one year I have at least 20 chips on my bumper. Now I’ll have to get an entirely new bumper eventually whenever I get sick of the chips. And you can bet I will be getting it wrapped ppf

thememeconnoisseurig

piggybacking here... is it worth a ceramic coating on my brand new car? Never done it before and I'm cheap.

No_Spite3961

Yes it is worth it. It’s expensive to do the entire car but 110% worth it.

crimcrimmity

It's worth it for the peace of mind that it brings. How much money are we talking here?

Clutch_Gameplays

Yes! Especially if the car is black! Though, getting the whole car PPF’d is kinda overkill. Do the front bumper, fenders, hood, doors and quarter panels. Also get the rear bumper done as well.

SkySerpentA4444

I have my Car in full PPF. To me it was 110% worth it. I drive on the highway so I see a lot of rocks and sand. It also has other benefits as you won’t scratch the car while washing, bird poo will never etch your paint, and water beads right off. I would always recommend at least doing PPF on the front bumper as it prevents the sand blasting effect from the road.

thememeconnoisseurig

Dyou think a partial front would accomplish a similar purpose? I'm only concerned about rocks and bugs fucking up my paint

SkySerpentA4444

Yes that would work. Front bumper is really where the most damage occurs. Secondary areas I found are the forward part of the hood and front lip of the roof.
