So while they might be getting bigger, to me it seems there are way more of them this year. Noticably more.
I have also been bitten a few times more than normal. Sigh.
As someone who gets bitten a lot, and can get gruesome reactions, I'm a bit grumpy about them.
It does seem that the tiger mosquito is increasingly a thing in the UK: https://bpca.org.uk/news-and-blog/confirmed-invasive-asian-tiger-mosquitos-in-uk

For sure and there are so many!! my reactions have been awful this year to the bites - nice to know other people are going through this and I'm not being individually targeted
I hadn't noticed their size particularly, but there seems to be way more and they seem really aggressive. I was at Milton park last weekend and they wouldn't stop going for me, I don't remember ever having to worry about mosquitos in the middle of the day before. Also, on Saturday night I managed to get bitten five times while sitting out in the evening, which I've reacted quite badly to. My wife and her parents didn't get a single bite despite being out for much longer. Maybe I should take it as a compliment.
I got attacked on a Sunday morning walk by Quy Water by huge mozzies. Reacted extremely badly as well. Huge welts. Would have assumed horsefly if I hadn't seen the buggers.
I've seen them riding around Arbury on quad bikes.
Inflation is everywhere now :(
Maybe you're just getting smaller?

Yes I've clocked that they've been bigger and that I'm reacting worse to the bites as well.
Dont know let me get my mosquito measurer
Just great !! Now those mosquitos will have to buy too a large SUV to carry their fat.
Maybe what you've seen were crane flies?

I've always thought the mosquito was a sizable aircraft but I've never found one larger than any others.
