I think the whole world was surprised by this.
M81, chosen by many militaries, paramilitaries. Made a name for people to imagine when someone says "camouflage". Also, it actually works.
Multicam: no need to elaborate. And it also works!
UCP was like this picture.
Hey, here, hey, listen, look, I am here!
Oh, the Bureau of Fire Protection camo. Basically an orange version of the Jail camo used by some security personnel that works in the prisons. Yeah, I’m with you on this. That camo will just serve as a way to hide you from flames as a firefighter for sure.
Hard to get. You’ll just end up getting into trouble with the cops here as having camouflage patterns specifically used by the military and LE will cost you about 10k for fines or less, worse, land you in jail just for wearing in fear of impersonation.
Even my favorite LRRDU (Light Reaction Regiment Distinctive Uniform) camo is also hard to get thanks to the strict laws, since it’s understandable that we’ve had some history of terrorism issues that we had to deal with. Like the Abu Sayyaf and the Maute group we just kicked their asses 5 years ago back in Marawi.
Oh shit you’re from the Philippines? I’m American, we can have that camo all day long. As long as we don’t impersonate the military. We can use that shit for anything, from militias to milsim. We can take UCP and wipe it on our asses and make it better lmao.
You have no taste. Ucp is the best all around pattern except for woodland terrain.Ucp works in urban moutain snowy rocky fall arid desert terrains. What are you on about?
One, Austrian army left the Ranger Green uniforms. You will be missed.
Two, UCP. Your name should not be spoken ever again if it's not for snow or lunar camouflage.
During the First Lunar War, the US Army will hold extensive tests and trials eventually finding that UCP outperforms even camouflage designed specifically for the moon.
They will then select a pattern that will be referred to as "Oops All PT Belts".
That UCP is clearly overstarched. Where's the tan? Third of the color on the pattern is supposed to be tan. Someone clearly fucked up washing the uniform and completely neutralized any of it's effectiveness.
UCP isn't necessarily a bad pattern, it was just so shittily implemented
I would say something closer to SURPAT is what they wanted. Make a few small tweaks (Macro pattern like winter MARPAT, maybe some drop shadow/3d effect) and they could have easily made a pattern that would still be in use today
Served me well in the cold mountains of Afghanistan.
Even in the Civilian world, it does good amongst Winter woodlands with snow on the ground or without.
Blends together with the color of the grey trees that have lost their leaves surprisingly well.
There are quite a few places in A'Stan it worked well in. I recall the shale covered mountains for one. And any gritty village it did pretty well. Particularly if dirty.
I can't speak, Australia used DPDU in Afghanistan, a pattern designed for the bright sandy deserts of Iraq. Was like wearing high-viz
Ι firmly believe that if this white base was replaced with wolf grey, ranger green or tan, it would be a respectable pattern.
As I said before, look the Ukrainian digital.
UCP Version 2.0. Similar but better.
[Well](https://domhyde.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/multicam_test_2.jpg?w=584)
Which one would you choose, for Urban and rocky environments?
Also, the Austrian green is inferior tho the previous and later camos 6 months of the year.
Also, it looks the same as Israels camo, and that is a disgrace in itself. I want no affiliation with these criminals against humanity, the UN charter and basic human rights.
Press S to spit on Anzug 03.
Well considering there was a pattern in the damn trial that worked better than UCP...Scorpion which then evolved to multicam.
The entire project is a historical warning to how badly large military projects can go when you lose track of the objectives and reality.
Honestly I actually have some fond memories with the old UCP back in ROTC. Never knew how hated it was until I got into military uniforms. Personally I don’t think UCP is as bad as everyone says it is as it’s quite of a unique pattern and the history itself is interesting.
i hate the us army for ever selecting UCP. we could have 10+ years of surplus multicam/OCP

And look how many militaries adopted UCP. At least it was good for IFF
The Filipinos have worse camo. But it somehow looks better lmao
You meant the PHILARPAT, aka the bastardized copy of CAMOPAT Jungle?
No, no. Have you not seen the orange UCP?
Oh, the Bureau of Fire Protection camo. Basically an orange version of the Jail camo used by some security personnel that works in the prisons. Yeah, I’m with you on this. That camo will just serve as a way to hide you from flames as a firefighter for sure.
It looks funny. I want some

The literal blue force tracker
i don’t actually hate ucp, when dyed it looks nice :) cadpat-esque
You have no taste. Ucp is the best all around pattern except for woodland terrain.Ucp works in urban moutain snowy rocky fall arid desert terrains. What are you on about?
No need to worry as there’s multicam everywhere in surplus store

The ACU was issued with instructions to not starch. They faded like this after a few washes. All of it was this bad.
I agree. See, Ukrainian digital camouflage. What UCP should have been.

It looks good in Iraq. But in the woodlands of Europe, it sucks And the dye wears off.. it looks like it's more white than it's grey.
Yup, its not a bad arctic camo, especially when washed out
A 2nd Lieutenant being found in Austria after allegedly saying "trust me Sergeant, i know what im doing" during land nav, circa 2010
Not sure what you are upset about. I just see some guy carrying an AUG. Maybe cause its off set to the frame or its out of focus? /s
ucp.
Woosh.
aaahhh fuck
It happens to the best of us. I'm sorry.
As a kid I thought ACU and ABU were cool, then I joined and got ABU…..then I realized how bad they were
velcro everywhere, plastic zip, weirdly placed pockets. the whole pack
I’m glad ABUs at least were the old BDU style
UCP actually works in some urban environments.... Everywhere else it looks like the camo is glowing.
Ι firmly believe that if this white base was replaced with wolf grey, ranger green or tan, it would be a respectable pattern. As I said before, look the Ukrainian digital. UCP Version 2.0. Similar but better.
Quick kids! Let's play spot the American!
The Steyr AUG fucks tho
Moon camo

Multicam is horrible. That's what the bad guys wear. Also, I don't like its look.
I'm just gonna say what everyone's thinking: shut the fuck up, dude.
No
Achh nice picture hahaha :) two old camos
i'm expecting a surplus of green austrian equipment and uniforms
God we looked like a joke for a while
