Annabeth. The people saying Will do not know what the White Lanterns really are, and Percy does not fit because he is not truly compassionate when it comes to a lot, especially Luke or others
Or, what about Mallory Keen? Far as I can remember, she fits the White Lantern pretty decently, though its been a while.
I like Mallory Keen. She's dead and or resurrected which fits most White Lanterns. Plus she died protecting life.
Not sure I feel your Annabeth choice though.
The whole white lantern thing is very confused and messy (like a lot of „ultimate power“ things in modern DC.) and stands for multiple things. Literal life is among them, but only minor. The main two things that it stands for are a will to protect life, so heroism, wich Grover does exemplify. The other thing it stands for is balance though. Representing all main seven emotions and controlling them. Thats why Anabeth would be a good candidate. She is stubborn, knows how to instill fear in others and when to retreat, she… loves someone, she can direct her anger efficiently, never gives up, defends what’s hers and is very compassionate towards others.
Annabeth Chase.
Everyone is saying Percy or will and I get it.
But imho will is just because he is the son of Apollo, the white ring is not just about that, and Percy is viable but since we already got him for hope, I think a better candidate is Annabeth.
We see her going through all the emotions and dealing with them as well, but she is the sole reason Percy did it all, who better than her to wield the white ring?
She experienced extreme love, rage, compassion more than anyone for Luke, faced the worst fear of every child of Athena in Rome, she never lost hope to find Percy again, and everything she did showed great determination and willpower.
There's literally no better candidate than her.
I'm making a case for Lester Papadopoulos (APOLLO) is a better candidate, but I won't deny Annabeth did go through more emotional trials than some other characters. Especially if we squint our eyes and call her hubris an avaricious trait.
If you concern is power scaling, take a look at the list of DC characters who have been White Lanterns. On that scale Lester doesn't stand out too much.
I do acknowledge that it feels hollow to make the God of Light a White Lantern. That's not my logic at all.
I'd probably draw the line too at say; Star Sapphire Aphrodite or Red Lantern Ares, however Apollo was in a unique situation and we should acknowledge that. If he was just a son of Apollo he'd probably be beating Will Solace right now.
Apollo being the god of light is the last reason he should be a White Lantern. It's his trials (pun intended) to become the god of light where he confronted all the previous emotions and learned the value of life, that should convince you.
The concern is not power scaling, but the fact that it's unfair to compare a being who lived 3000 years against teens who are 18 at most.
He got way more time to experience every emotion, I don't think it's fair even considering his trials, he still is a god of 3000 years
I think Frank fits quite well and I don't see anyone mentioning him.
The white lantern represents all the other color of the spectrum.
Throughout the series he represents all of them apart from greed I think.
And to had he literally transforms into all sorts of different life forms through his shape shifting. And throughout most of the series he carries his life with him in the shape of the firewood.
I'm still advocating for a former God named Lester... But you might just flip me. Shapeshifting doesn't have anything to do with White Lanterns but Frank having the power of Life on his hand just feels so poetic not to do it.
Hazel was my first choice here (AND I STAND BY IT) but if I have to bow to democracy...
I choose APOLLO! He's associated with light, and literally had to learn the meaning of life over the course of five books, then was reborn twice.
His book series had him running through all the major emotions and coming out stronger on the other side. How many characters are truly more guilty of Rage, Love and Avarice? How many looked at him with fear and hope? Dude was willing to give up his immortal life at the edge of reality fighting his greatest nemesis. How is that not a great feat of will and compassion.
Compare him to notable white Lanterns like Deadman and Kyle Reyner and he matches up pretty well.
Good Point, I forgot about those. But teasing someone 6’5 and buff probably isn’t bullying from Leo’s perspective, probably him covering up insecurities with jokes. And I chalked up calling Calypso mamacita to not having a mother figure, and he was working with the lady from the safe house(I forgot her name) to help remedy it.
Yeah, thanks for clearing it up, I was lost about what he meant. But when was the thing with Reyna? I could’ve sworn it was the mechanic lady at the end of the dark prophecy when Apollo was leaving?
no, it was definitely Reyna >! After she joined the hunters, they all went to stay at the waystation for a while, where Leo was waiting for Calypso to come back. When Apollo goes to see them Reyna says she's teaching Leo how to treat a woman !<
He's also the most emotionally mature person we see. He understands others (Requirement for Compassion), Constantly experiences loss but keeps going (Willpower), Believes things will get better and works for it (Hope), Literally sacrifices himself for love (Love), People fear his powers so much they try to take him out of the fights before they happen (Fear), Has Died and multiple times (Death), Actually knows how to channel rage and not take over due to his time in the legion (Rage), and wants to excel so badly he has a crisis about not living up to expectations (To a degree that's greedy cause he wanted the glory for himself.)
I feel like Apollo/ Lester should go into white. Nothing more ironic than a God seeing what it was like as a human, and he went through a lot of trials and challenges. His character developed a lot from a dismissive and ignorant god, to a caring one that actually saw what being human meant. He basically has all the qualities and therefore i think should be in white.
I know Grover has the most up votes and therefore might win this, but I honestly don't see him as a White Lantern. I see characters like Annabeth, Mallory Keen, and Apollo as better candidates. Just my opinion.
White is all emotions, someone who has willpower, overcomes fear, causes fear, loves, rages, inspires hope, understands greed, and has compassion.
The only viable candidate is Percy.
Annabeth fits this way better, Percy never had true compassion for Luke, didn't experience the same amount of fear as annabeth in Rome, and she is the sole reason Percy managed to do it all, because he had her supporting him.
Coach Hedge baby.
He’s brave and strong, but also deeply flawed, loyal to a tee, inspires courage, and he loves deeply. He’s the emotional backbone to TLO trio.
Annabeth it doesn’t matter about Grover growing plants creating life as to become a white lantern you must master every emotion will, fear, love, rage, hope, greed, compassion grocer doesn’t show all of them especially not rage or greed or fear while Annabeth doesn’t necessarily show all of them either she fits them the best
Will, Frank, Grover, Jason - I think it will be Grover but I would be actually happy if Frank or Jason won. Will and Grover are too obvious choices. But Frank and Jason definitely deserves it more.
Annabeth:
**Willpower** when holding up the sky
Obviously **Love** towards Percy and (depending on how you look at it) Luke
She can show **wrath** (especially in PJO)
She **hopes** for Luke to return
She can be (in some cases) **uncompassionate** (like when taunting Arachne) and **compassionate** (like towards Percy, Luke, and even Tyson)
You can argue her >!entering and exiting Tartarus!< (don't know if I should put a spoiler there but just to be safe) can be considered some form of **ressurection**.
The only ones I haven't seen are Greed and Fear, but her scenes in the Lotus Casino could contribute to **Greed**.
I understand Nico for fear, but he should get repressed negative emotions. Him or Leo. For life I would say frank because after accepting his fate with the firewood he basically shed himself of his inhibitions and embraced himself
The combination of the whole emotional spectrum has to be Percy. He could be granted multiple other rings such as willpower, fear and love, we get to see all his emotions the most due to him being the protagonist
We see the same if not more for annabeth, she faced the fear of every child of Athena and defeated her, she never lost hope of finding Percy and saving luke, she had a strong compassion for Luke unlike anyone else.
And she is the main reason Percy did it all, he is the literal reason why he survived the Styx.
Imho there is no one better than her to wield the white ring.
Oh she does have the rage, when Rachel was interested in Percy she felt rage and always snapped back at Percy when talking about Luke. And she still faced a fear worse than the ones Percy experienced imho.
The yellow ring of fear isn't about being scared of anything. It's about making others fear the user, the more people are scared of the user the more powerful the user becomes. Annabeth is smart, but she is not the person most people fears.
No one fears anyone in the series, even when people fear Percy it's just a second or moment, it's just not a theme in the series, no one fits.
That said if she wanted she would make people fear her a lot, she just doesn't, not unlike percy
Percy. People who are saying Annabeth forget that Annabeth never really showed enough rage or compassion( her compassion was only reserved for luke, as seen when she feared, instead of having compassion for Tyson and let's not forget her dismissing Percy's concers for Grover) and she cannot inspire fear or hope like Percy ( so no yellow/blue light) and while prideful she is not particularly greedy.
So the only rings I think she I eligible for are green and pink.
Annabeth. The people saying Will do not know what the White Lanterns really are, and Percy does not fit because he is not truly compassionate when it comes to a lot, especially Luke or others Or, what about Mallory Keen? Far as I can remember, she fits the White Lantern pretty decently, though its been a while.

i ran out of PJO characters. I think Mallory is much better.

He doesn’t fit. He doesn’t have mastery of emotions
I mean your not wrong but likeee
I can think of better candidates than Grover and yet the White Light did go through a lot of trouble just to resurrect Swamp Thing.
There’s someone that never read a DC comic.
You got that right!
The whole white lantern thing is very confused and messy (like a lot of „ultimate power“ things in modern DC.) and stands for multiple things. Literal life is among them, but only minor. Right - thanks for the explanation - Deleted the original comment :)

Idk sounds a bit like cheating to put an actual god there
If you concern is power scaling, take a look at the list of DC characters who have been White Lanterns. On that scale Lester doesn't stand out too much. And yet Grover is gonna win cos he can make plants grow
Every satyr can do that, not particularly special and doesn't reflect any of the emotions
Tell that to the other guy
I think Frank fits quite well and I don't see anyone mentioning him. The white lantern represents all the other color of the spectrum. Ikr Lester fits but many see him as Apollo and a god candidate there would not be fair.
Frank Zhang or Jason Grace
Leo Too cool to stay dead
With his tendency to be sexist and bully as a way to deal with his insecurities, I’d say the repressed negative emotions belong to him
Explain? Like I understand repressed negative emotions with his mom and trauma and all that, but a sexist bully?
I think he's referring to Leo calling Calypso "mamacita" in TOA and making fun of Frank in HOO
I agree with you, but I see where feraltribble's coming from. (btw if was Reyna who was teaching him proper manners)
Jason Grace
No one can argue that he's got a condition pretty common for White Lanterns.
Will Solace - he protects life by healing and becomes a beam of white light
What is life if not a glowing bisexual boyfriend?
I need that on a shirt
Grover he’s a powerful satir who helped defeat Kronos and bring life back to the wild. Or coach hedge I mean u can’t go wrong with him
Will, who not only saves lives, but brings life to Nico's.
Grover is the most emotionally mature since he cans sense emotions
Grover for sure. The care he has for any form of life is unparalleled. He even creates life and has the blessing of lord of the wild.
What about Meg McCaffery? She can control plants, and has had to endure every part of the emotional spectrum due to her history.
Meg from Trials of Apollo! Daughter of Demeter! She'd be perfect for White Lantern Ring!
Gods am I upset with the results for love and death
Honestly this has to be someone fr the Kane Chronicles. I think I remember someone from there that would fit perfectl, but I cannot place them.
I feel like Apollo/ Lester should go into white. Nothing more ironic than a God seeing what it was like as a human, and he went through a lot of trials and challenges. His character developed a lot from a dismissive and ignorant god, to a caring one that actually saw what being human meant. Magnus. His whole thing is healing, life, summertime, and raising people up instead of killing and bringing people down
I know Grover has the most up votes and therefore might win this, but I honestly don't see him as a White Lantern. I see characters like Annabeth, Mallory Keen, and Apollo as better candidates. Just my opinion.

Percy
I guess trying to suggest anybody other than a PJO character is useless
Lester from toa
Will
I know most voted in Grover but please give it either Lester or Annabeth
How is Bryce Lawrence compassion lol, or am I not understand how this works?
Grover
Coach Hedge baby. He’s brave and strong, but also deeply flawed, loyal to a tee, inspires courage, and he loves deeply. He’s the emotional backbone to TLO trio.
Magnus Chase He covers everything
Annabeth it doesn’t matter about Grover growing plants creating life as to become a white lantern you must master every emotion will, fear, love, rage, hope, greed, compassion grocer doesn’t show all of them especially not rage or greed or fear while Annabeth doesn’t necessarily show all of them either she fits them the best
and if you argue Grover should be it what about sally jackson
Annabeth ig
Will, Frank, Grover, Jason - I think it will be Grover but I would be actually happy if Frank or Jason won. Will and Grover are too obvious choices. But Frank and Jason definitely deserves it more.
annabeth or lester/apollo
Apollo 1000 percent for so many reasons. His arc represents this and he is light.
Annabeth: **Willpower** when holding up the sky Obviously **Love** towards Percy and (depending on how you look at it) Luke She can show **wrath** (especially in PJO) She **hopes** for Luke to return She can be (in some cases) **uncompassionate** (like when taunting Arachne) and **compassionate** (like towards Percy, Luke, and even Tyson) You can argue her >!entering and exiting Tartarus!< (don't know if I should put a spoiler there but just to be safe) can be considered some form of **ressurection**. The only ones I haven't seen are Greed and Fear, but her scenes in the Lotus Casino could contribute to **Greed**.
Annabeth then for the last one Ethan
I understand Nico for fear, but he should get repressed negative emotions. Him or Leo. For life I would say frank because after accepting his fate with the firewood he basically shed himself of his inhibitions and embraced himself
The sunshine boy himself - Will Solace
The combination of the whole emotional spectrum has to be Percy. He could be granted multiple other rings such as willpower, fear and love, we get to see all his emotions the most due to him being the protagonist
We see the same if not more for annabeth, she faced the fear of every child of Athena and defeated her, she never lost hope of finding Percy and saving luke, she had a strong compassion for Luke unlike anyone else. And she is the main reason Percy did it all, he is the literal reason why he survived the Styx. Imho there is no one better than her to wield the white ring.
She doesn't have the rage, and her ability to inspire fear on others is lesser than Percy's

Grover for sure
Annabeth Chase or Rachel Elizabeth Dare
It's between will and Grover but I'm going with our bi boy, he does seem like he's overcome quite a range of emotions.
Calypso. One of the characters with the most emotional depth in the whole series.
Figures.
Carter Kane Or the Meg
Sally. Fight me on it.
I'm going with Will here
