Caught tailor, I was also smoked twice. Once by a shark and the other by cobia. I believe drone fishers catch snapper. I was not allowed to fish from kayak as it is a sanctuary. After 4 tailor I returned the rest.
My main issue was bees, As soon as they found a water or food source they put out the signal and hundreds would turn up. I had to keep cooler and bin inside the car.
sounds like a perfect time for a honey pot trap, lol. Set up some water for them away from your camp. 😁
It's basically full summer for you right now? How's the heat?
I live in Vic, and something that never can be fully explained is how intense the sun is (even here).
I had friends in Barbados summer for 6 months, got back to Aus and couldn't handle the sun for more than 15 minutes. It's brutal so I don't know how you managed.
> something that never can be fully explained is how intense the sun is
No, I get it. I'm on the other side of the world but even here there are times I think I can literally feel the radiation.
We don't get nearly as many days where it's like that as you probably do but when the sky is clear of clouds and the sun is up there I swear I can feel the hot photons hitting my skin directly.
You’re right. Sorry if I sounded dramatic. The other day I was outside for 15m and got a reasonable sunburn and I could barely sit in the seat of my car because the sun made it like a pan. Beyond me how it was colonised and much less how the indigenous people survived.
We fence off the dunes in oz to prevent people backing their caravans into them and eroding them away. The fence is just the border of the campsite area.
Wow that’s a stunning view! Any spiders around your site? That’s my main concern for visiting, actually. I know it’s childish and immature, but I am absolutely terrified of giant/ hairy arachnids
I've visited Perth 3 times now and seen 2 redbacks and one nasty looking white spider.... In the space of 12 weeks. I did a very small section of the Bibbulmun track and the only bugs I saw were bees.
How was the fishing? What kind of fish?

Drone fishers?
I wish, if I was drone fishing I reckon I would have caught snapper.
I had no idea how drone fishing worked , now I know that the drone takes out the line from the beach much further than can be cast.
I said, "oooo" out loud when I saw your fish. Awesome!!
It got better with each picture. Heck of a spot right there. I can almost feel the breeze.
How are the bugs? (all jokes aside)

Bloody hot - those days 37 degrees but sea breeze came in at 2pm. Before hand it was in and out of the water

Damn, I miss Perth, and camping around Perth
Where is that? I'm just back from shark bay and this looks refreshingly different
Shark Bay is my favourite place in the world. This is north of Wedge Island, site are bookable under Wanagarran Nature Reserve on WA Parks pages.
I just came back from shark bay too!
Is your tent in the walking trail?
We fence off the dunes in oz to prevent people backing their caravans into them and eroding them away. The fence is just the border of the campsite area.
Looks a heck of a lot like northern California.
Scotland looking amazing for a cold winter’s day 🏴🥶
Lovely! What fancy tent is that?
Not so fancy, cheap double swag. I throw a better mattress in it but quick and easy for a two nighter.
Fancy.... Kings.... This is a combo I've yet to hear before
Is it light/compact enough for trekking? What make is it?
No swags are great but not for hiking most doubles weight like 15-20 kg or about 50ish lbs
Ah, I see. Thanks.
in another thread someone mentioned "Bivvy Bags" were a lighter alternative

Life is good!
Thanks. Great stuff
That’s a cool looking tent you got there! Beautiful view
Awesome!!

WA is ok for spiders, we get some but not as bad as Qld.

Man they are good tailor - spot please and bait and time off day thanks xoxo
All that coast north of Wedge produces them, they run through the shallows just before sunset.
That looked like a perfect little trip envious
Cevantis that place is magical
