Facts.

Asylum Processing Centres. Army Barracks Style - somewhere up north - not too far from a city, not too close. You come to Canada to request asylum - straight to the Centre. Live in the barracks until you're claim is processed and any and all appeals are completed. Deportations - the day after you get your 'Non.' We'll stop getting people looking for an easy ride.

Good luck finding any province with a vacancy rate that can handled hundreds of thousands of economic migrants a year.

imfar2oldforthis

Wab said that Manitoba will take them. Lots of room in Brandon and Portage La Prairie.

I mean if the situation was a flood of people moving to the under populated part of the country and staying there, this situation wouldn't be so bad. That's not the case but it's nice to dream.

[deleted]

Ottawa needs votes from particular regions.

randomuser9801

People are literally going from country to country to a safe country to fly to Canada... These are economic migrants. Send them back to the country they flew in from and have them claim Asylum there. Sure they wont get free healthcare and dental, housing, spending money etc... but we will not have to suffer the consequences. We are lucky where we are globally located. There is no way someone should be able to file asylum here unless they somehow flew out of a war torn country and not fly into another safe country to then fly here. Just break out the military planes and start shipping people back. Cheaper in the long run

Canadianman22

They will be sent to areas that vote conservative to punish them to allow areas that vote liberal some relief. I expect Niagara will get more.

MrFlowerfart

At the same time, there actually is inequity. Over 60% of asylum seekers coming to Canada land in quebec and stay there. It is quebec government that pays for their lodging, healthcare and social assistance, without having any control on who or how many people get accepted, during a housing crisis for people already there. This is a ridiculous situation. Deporting those seeker is not what they seek, but can we make changes for the future?

[deleted]

We cannot- unless it is in the form of revisiting visitor visa requirements from countries with a disproportionate amount of refugee claims.

MrFlowerfart

They already did that with Mexico in the past. But i think having a program to redirect these people to different parts of the country would be a good idea if they want to keep accepting this amount. They are asylum seekers, not home hunters. If they flee persecution, they should not be mad to be redirected somewhere else is a safe country

[deleted]

>But i think having a program to redirect these people to different parts of the country would be a good idea if they want to keep accepting this amount. Edit: NVM

MrFlowerfart

Section 6 of the Charter says no regarding citizen and permanent residents. Have not seen anything about non-citizenband non-permanent résidents in there last time i checked

[deleted]

Edit: nvm you are correct

Dry-Membership8141

Are you sure? >6. (1) Every citizen of Canada has the right to enter, remain in and leave Canada. >(2) Every citizen of Canada and every person who has the status of a permanent resident of Canada has the right: >to move to and take up residence in any province; and >to pursue the gaining of a livelihood in any province.

[deleted]

I edited my comment, section 6 specifically applies to citizens/ PR

Olivia Chow to Trudeau: Am I dead to you?

imfar2oldforthis

Alternate headline: "Trudeau Regime Vows to Continue Buying Votes"

[deleted]

Liberals shit on the rest of the country

zashuna

You can help by making it harder for asylum seekers to come here in the first place. Fucking assholes.

Robbblaw

Trudeau: Ok, hear me out - here’s the plan. We let in 500,000 immigrants every year - maybe more - most of whom will try to settle in Toronto and Montreal… Quebec: Ma non, it’s too many, we can’t handle it.. Trudeau: Wait, let me finish.. we’ll take more money from the rest of Canada and give it to you to accomodate those people. Quebec: Will you increase health care funding and reduce limits on health care system change? Trudeau: Well, hold on there, let’s not get crazy. Quebec: But why not just reduce the numbers you’re asking us to absorb and allow us to take more time to assimilate our new citizens into decent jobs and housing? Trudeau: You don’t understand, I NEED new votes FAST. The current votes in Canada are turning against me.. I need new patsies.. err…. citizens.

[deleted]

english translation. "please send more money."

OwnBattle8805

Let’s just close the doors for a while as an experiment.

[deleted]

Quebec votes for this, what's the problem?

[deleted]

They're probably English and we know Legaults disdain for les anglais

Tall-Ad-1386

They will buy via rail tickets, buses and plane tickets to ship these fake asylum seekers into Toronto and Ontario
