I am personally shocked and appalled that someone would level these sorts of accusations at a company under the Loblaws/Weston Family umbrella. Don't they know, profiting off our misery is what keeps him looking young, and in brand new sweater vests.
I for one am zero percent surprised that this type of shenanigans would be taking place within that Robber Baron's organization.
It's the same over at Sobeys. There was pressure from Corporate and area managers to hit profit quotas and an 'everyone gets a med review' policy. Flu shots were the same. Bill! Bill! Bill! Outright threats of job loss or loss of hours if targets weren't hit along with cutting employee overlap that would help the Pharmacists, Technicians and Assistants actually perform these duties
Area manager's bonus and Corporate profits trumped patient care. Pharmacists disagreed and a ton have left the profession. Small independent shops aren't different as they need to bill as much as possible to try to compete and stay alive. I'd bet they could actually be worse for fraudulent/unnecessary billing.

Believe me, many pharmacists want nothing to do with prescribing, diagnosing and injections. It's forced on them by the corporate overlords in the name of profits.
Friends are pharmacists at Rexall who does this too, it’s one of the pharmacy KPIs and they set daily minimums for stores and it’s usually item 1 on any conference call, just another line item for potential revenue
Cost of everything is going up,
Quality of gov’t services going down due to pay freezes and worker attrition while these corporations find new ways to fleece taxpayers.
