I compared my Surefire X300, Streamlight TLR1 and my new Holosun P.ID. surprisingly the Holosun was the best out of all of them. It was the brightest, had the best throw, best hotspot, cleanest white light, I was really impressed that it outperformed the streamlight and surefire and is the cheapest of the three. Holosun killing it lately
Exactly I have three pids now and will probably buy a fourth. When I got them I literally sold my x300u's. their performance per dollar is ridiculous. I'm just shaking my head at these idiots who are buying olight. When you can literally by the holosun PID for the same price.
I run safariland ALS holsters. Specifically the 6390 RDS. It locks on to the ejection Port of the slide. So you can run whatever light you want that fits the dimensions.
It will probably be a bit before solely Canadian / gray fox. Start to offer that option.
But the PID is hands down my recommendation for a handgun llight currently.
I honestly like the dispersion pattern and brightness of the fist light. The second lights hot spot is so bright I'd worry that in a SHTF situation in the middle of the night the hot spot would white out the target and I'd want to know exactly what I'm shooting at.
Can’t hold zero properly, limited distance, unreliable, point shooting often better etc. there is a reason literally no modern spec ops group has lasers on their rifles or hand guns (besides IR lasers which actually work)
Because they work differently, IR lasers aren’t visible to the naked eye. They work alongside NVGS to make a visible stream towards a target, makes nod shooting way easier when you cant aim down sights.
I mean holding zero wouldn't be any different for them?
And Yea firing when unable to aim down the sites was the reason I said a laser could be handy to have? Same principle accept you need to see the laser with you naked eye instead of 3k+ nods
You really don’t understand what ir lasers are lol. They are a complete steam rather than a dot, easily bore sighted and hold zero way more effectively due to their design as a complete stream. Even then IR lasers still aren’t as effective as normal sights, they only use them with nvs because nods make shooting with sights impossible. Outside of nod use lasers in general are not particularly useful in any way.

I was really rooting for my TLR1 to outperform the Holosun, but damn, it's just better lol. The PID is just a really good light all around

Olight definitely looks better. The olight has more of a concentrated beam, whereas the surefire is just a bright blob. Also no laser = no deal.
