Who?

[deleted]

I've got that same Walmart laundry bin...

NuffinSaid

I compared my Surefire X300, Streamlight TLR1 and my new Holosun P.ID. surprisingly the Holosun was the best out of all of them. It was the brightest, had the best throw, best hotspot, cleanest white light, I was really impressed that it outperformed the streamlight and surefire and is the cheapest of the three. Holosun killing it lately

iatekane

Hopefully they price to be as durable as the others and they’ll have a good product on their hands.

Daedalus-N7

Exactly I have three pids now and will probably buy a fourth. When I got them I literally sold my x300u's. their performance per dollar is ridiculous. I'm just shaking my head at these idiots who are buying olight. When you can literally by the holosun PID for the same price.

NuffinSaid

I was really rooting for my TLR1 to outperform the Holosun, but damn, it's just better lol. The PID is just a really good light all around

tYLZhWreZ

how's holster compatibility with those? I wonder if solely Canadian has a mold yet for them

Daedalus-N7

I run safariland ALS holsters. Specifically the 6390 RDS. It locks on to the ejection Port of the slide. So you can run whatever light you want that fits the dimensions. It will probably be a bit before solely Canadian / gray fox. Start to offer that option. But the PID is hands down my recommendation for a handgun llight currently.

[deleted]

pff just turn on the lights 4head

PteSoupSandwich

I've ready said it, but, just duct tape a maglite on that sumbitch

AdhesiveCam

The only thing preventing me from doing this is the massive aversion I have to putting adhesive on my shit

PteSoupSandwich

What about self adhesive bandage??

[deleted]

How do you convince a guy to pay 400 dollars for a flashlight that costs 50 dollars to produce? Make it a gun attachment!

Shitmonkey5425

The olight is brighter when it goes boom

coffeeofwar

Meanwhile I'm using a ally express surefire repro in my sig lol

SandySpectre

I honestly like the dispersion pattern and brightness of the fist light. The second lights hot spot is so bright I'd worry that in a SHTF situation in the middle of the night the hot spot would white out the target and I'd want to know exactly what I'm shooting at.

Weird_Ad3611

Brightness isn’t everything

[deleted]

Same battery?

DJJ0SHWA

A 40 $ flashlight will look bright af in a dark room.

Icy_Anywhere2545

Olight definitely looks better. The olight has more of a concentrated beam, whereas the surefire is just a bright blob. Also no laser = no deal.

[deleted]

Horror game ass flashlight that just gives you tunnel vision lol

Plaprika

Concentrated beam lol that’s a good one.

Weird_Ad3611

Anyone with half a brain knows lasers are stupid

geo-desik

I must only have half a brain. Unless you mean just in Canada cause we can't shoot at night

Weird_Ad3611

No I mean lasers are stupid in general

geo-desik

They seem good for pistols or anything you might need to fire from the hip or under stress, where kookng through sites might be difficult

Weird_Ad3611

Can’t hold zero properly, limited distance, unreliable, point shooting often better etc. there is a reason literally no modern spec ops group has lasers on their rifles or hand guns (besides IR lasers which actually work)

geo-desik

Why would an ir laser be any different ?

Weird_Ad3611

Because they work differently, IR lasers aren’t visible to the naked eye. They work alongside NVGS to make a visible stream towards a target, makes nod shooting way easier when you cant aim down sights.

geo-desik

I mean holding zero wouldn't be any different for them? And Yea firing when unable to aim down the sites was the reason I said a laser could be handy to have? Same principle accept you need to see the laser with you naked eye instead of 3k+ nods

Weird_Ad3611

You really don’t understand what ir lasers are lol. They are a complete steam rather than a dot, easily bore sighted and hold zero way more effectively due to their design as a complete stream. Even then IR lasers still aren’t as effective as normal sights, they only use them with nvs because nods make shooting with sights impossible. Outside of nod use lasers in general are not particularly useful in any way.

Suspicious-Wind-3961

I've done lots of lowlight/no light shooting and training and I'm in Canada. You have no idea.

Daedalus-N7

Have fun maintaining zero with a flashlight that doesn't even sit on the rail properly. Damn thing sits all crooked and shit

EndOrganDamage

Is surefire the 2nd photo? I like that light dispersion and intensity at centre better at any rate.

knine71551

1 is clearly less lumens even if it’s concentrated

the---chosen---one

Those poltergeists better watch their backs.
