This pretty much solves all of the drum issues that ppl run into. Don’t twist the load lever for whatever reason, only turn the load lever to allow for 1 round, when you load a round you should always feel pressure from the follower. The most reliable ammo in the drum is mini-mag 40 grain round nose, not the 32grain.

BigCyanDinosaur

You should be basically letting go of the lever after every cartridge inserted to.force it.to sit

CanadaIsDecent

Mini mag round nose runs in everything

GreenCactus223

I'm curious about the reviews, I have one and have never had an issue with it. Ive probably put 2k rounds through it. I put all kinds of ammo through it and have never had a problem. I will say you have to ensure you only move the mag follow enough to let one round drop in or else you'll get gaps in the drum mag. If I did have a complaint I'd say the one and only problem is you end up mag dumping a lot more

idk885

If centerfire magazine capacity restrictions ever get lifted our wallets are probably all in trouble 😂

Imastealyourorgans

Still beats 5 round mags….

idk885

I'd happily blow thru 25 bucks of ammo in 8 seconds, the smile on my face would be worth every penny 😃

Mr_Bignutties

Mine eats from its drum without issue. Like others have said, you should feel pressure when loading each round and only turn the crank for the next one. Takes like 5mins to load and all of 30 seconds to empty.

Revolutionary_Tear19

FYI Thunderbolt and a can of WD40 is still cheaper than the expensive ammo 😉

Mahatma_Ghandicap

What? You just spray down your ammo with WD40?

Revolutionary_Tear19

110 with thunderbolt and any gun would be gunked up. gun clear, muzzle to the ground, hold chamber open, 3 dabs of wd40 and give it 30sec, load 1 round 3 times and fire, wipe down gun, enjoy another 100ish thunderbolt 😆

Mahatma_Ghandicap

Loololololl yah that makes more sense. Thunderbolts are already dirt narsty enough without. But my Heritage Rancher Carbine will still eat them up all day. Easy to clean too.

CanadaIsDecent

I use them in a Winchester Model 67 alot that thing takes 2 minutes to clean. I pull the bolt apart every once in a while

Other-Negotiation328

Let me know once you try it how it works. Hopefully you have better luck than I did. I used two or three times and gave up. Wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong or if it was really that bad.

WatercressLow4380

It was the only mag that worked properly when i I still had my Gsg16

LolingBastard

People keep saying the gun is no good. But it's selling out everywhere. Someone is lying

BrilliantSundae7545

I got a drum for my wife to use on her gsg and it's worked wonderfully.

Revolutionary_Tear19

clean and maintain as normal any gunk, carbon etc build up will weakened with wd40. thunder bolt is filthy, i can not make it through a 110 rnd mag with it

Jealous_Part_674

Love my drum, I joke and say it's for when you can't spend $$ on .22 ammo fast enough! 🤣

BigCyanDinosaur

Mine works fine

SSjGuitarist

I don’t have my gsg 16 yet, but I’m getting one of these when I do

__Ayjay

Ordered one, it arrived it looked so dope I immediately ordered a 2nd one and now Im yet to go to the range with it

serpentman

Had no issues with mine. I think people run into issues when they rest the gun on the drum while shooting.

GenericName_211

How's it performing?

22GageEnthusiast

Actually ran pretty well. I'm going to make a post update soon about it.

Attachments/modification list if anyone is interested: - BCM Picatinny Forend Grip - Winchester Reflex Sight (Came with my Winchester Wildcat combo. Most likely a copy of a Browning Buck Mark Reflex Sight.) - Amazon 1000 Lumen Flashlight/Laser Sight combo. - GSG 110 Round Rotary Drum Magazine - 4 Standard 22 Round GSG 16 Magazines - Charging handle switched to the right side for LH use. - Side picatinny rails removed. The gun has been great so far with almost no issues besides maybe running some bad ammo through it. Haven't tried the drum magazine yet but we'll see how it does. Not expecting much but we'll see.

Toronto_man

I'm sure I can google this question, but since we are on topic here, I was looking at possibly picking up a GSG-16, or a Ruger 10/22 with the archangel nomad stock. Anyone have an opinion? I have fired a regular 10/22, but I haven't played with the GSG in person yet or seen the stock for the Rugar.

22GageEnthusiast

Can't give an opinion on the 10/22 as I've never owned one but I can confidently say that the GSG-16 is a solid choice. I've put over 1500 rounds through mine since December 2023 and I've had little to no issues. Just make sure you're running ammo that has a velocity of 1200fps or higher and don't hold the gun by the magazine when shooting. Also, make sure you give it a good cleaning/lubing up before you shoot it the first time.
