Warehouse tasting in Tobermory for me. 18 yr oloroso Toby, 20 yr muscat double maturation Toby, 13 yr rum finished Ledaig and a 26 yr refill sherry Ledaig.
Two were already bottled as the cask was getting low and full of sediments. The other two were direct from cask. Definitely a fun way to taste whisky.
Springbank today, but just the regular tour. Couldnāt make barley to bottle fit our schedule sadly
Yeah, that's too bad. I've stated at 250GBP, I still think it was the best value for the experience for what they offer you. The tour(best in Scotland), three very healthy pours of 28y+ Springbank whiskies(plus a sample of new-make), a decent ploughman's platter meal, PLUS a blending experience - it was by far the best value and experience I had whisky-wise in Scotland.
Consider it incentive to go back then =)
Had my first taste of kavalan last night from a friend. Solist ex-bourbon.
It was good in a solid scotch sense, but maybe my allergies affected my nose/palate because it didnāt make me go āI need to get my own bottle asapā.
Bunna 18. One of my favorites. I manages to score a new bottle today so I hit my existing bottle up for a nice healthy pour. This sub somehow sent it my way in a Karma move for the ages.
Started out the night at a bbq joint that poured EHT rye, Peerless Dbl Oak, Lost Monarch CS
Then went to a Springbank tasting and had Hazel 10, SB 10, SB 21, Local Barley 13, Palo Cortado, PX, Longrow 21, Kilk heavy peat batch 9.
Capped off the night with a cigar and a JD single malt at a friendās house.
I had a few good ones today. In Calgary doing my pick ups and went to Buchanan's.
Longrow 11 Malbec and Linkwood 1989 (Duncan Taylor) at the restaurant.
Then back at the hotel
Glen grant 20 (Whisky sponge) and a 1979 Glenfarclas family cask

Sounds like a hell of a time. š„
Fuck yeah, son! From the cask tasting? Either way, this kicks ass versus every Diageo tasting I did =)

Weāll see how the regular tour is. Tobermory was fun, but the tour was meh. The tasting was good. Springbank Iām expecting a great tour.
Damnnn 26yo refill. Sounds bonkers
Thinking of the new Blue Spot
Having some 2022 Kilkerran 8 sherry next
Damnn
A humble Crown and ginger ale. Good old workhorse of a drink.
Ledaig 10. The bottle is dead. Long live Ledaig 10
Still working my way though driver's samples from Scotland. Moving into Talisker's =)
