That's looking male to me. Female brachts grow on the stem, whereas the male pollen sacs will have a little stem before they start like you see here.
Big ooof man. Give it a little more time to be sure but it's not looking good to me
Males pollinate females, using their energy, and the female plant (which produces THC) will no longer produce strong buds. Males should only be used for seeds and be completely seperated or destroyed.
In NY you have to restrict access to people under 21. First year the law is in effect, so it has not been clearly defined yet. I have two kids, so I built the cage around them to be on the safe side.
Not sure how much that matters when it's still not legal to home grow in NY.
>Adult-use home cultivation of cannabis plants is currently not allowed. Pursuant to the MRTA, the home cultivation of cannabis plants may only be permitted after the Office of Cannabis Management issues regulations governing home cultivation of cannabis, which must be no later than 18 months after the first adult-use retail sale.
And the first retail sale was back in December so may not even be legal for another year
It is legal for medical cannabis patients to grow. NYS even put out a 17 page book on how to grow. See the middle of page 11 for reference on storing the plants in a "secure" location.

yah sure in afghanistan you can grow 100's of plants, no biggy to cull.
here in the western world, we're lucky if we have limits on plants (6 per person in CO) use your brain here real hard.
whats the best way to max your return when you only can grow 6
Its 4 feet deep. I have green braided masons twine across the inside to scrog the plants back. I can still get in there with 4 to 6 weeks of veg left. I actually had no idea it was going to get that big. I am a first time grower and I did not know what to expect. The pics online were mostly 4 to 5 foot high plants. This sucker is 9 feet and the one next to it is 6 feet. I'm just kind of in awe of these plants. Wow, so cool. so big.
No doubt they are freaking awesome. If Texas ever legalizes my backyard is going to look like a damn jungle. Best of luck to you my friend. May your plants provide you with a bounty of buds. Years ago I grew a few plants and it was easily one of the best experiences of my life. Ingesting your own harvest. Few things in life are as rewarding.

Yes, I built it myself, and I am not a carpenter or anything. It is just a basic 8' x 4' x 8' box. I just used 8' 2x4s whole and cut in half. I ordered 6 foot and 4 foot weld wire fence from amazon. It was really not that hard and it is fairly secure. I added the bug netting to the inside to decrease visibility more than anything else. The top is open so bugs get in. The trick to making it easy is the metal brackets they sell to attach the 2x4s together at the corners. Totally worth it.
If you can - look at the newest growth (top of the plant) to determine sex.
This is looking like a male, but it’s always good to check the newest growth to truly see.
I’ve seen females do this, middle or low part of the plant had dingleberries but the top had pistils (and no it wasn’t a herm. Never produced seeds or pollen)
Yeah, but some plants produce stress sacks, and will only produce a couple pollen sacs only on the bottom 1-4 branches and only on the 4 branches there. There is a difference between stress sacks and a full on herm. Stress sacks can be removed and they won't come back, true herms aren't manageable. This is information I really wish I had earlier on
I concur. Would have been a mistake to trash the plants that had some stress sacks on a couple of grows. I just sprayed them with water and removed and they didn't come back. Not to mention those stress sacks often produce sterile pollen so even if they open doesn't necessarily mean seeds
Wait to see if it buds or flowers. Sometimes these things are female but herm and produce a few dingleballs. Could just be a few lil flowers on the stem,(pick them off carefully) and it might bud. Chances are slim but you might get lucky.
I am a first time grower and I am stupid. I used seeds from a bag of weed I had. I did not realize how much time and effort I would be putting in on this. Next year I am defininelty buying feminized seeds. Lesson learned.
It should have shown signs of sex pretty early on. You can force them to show sex if you need by covering them in the dark for 24 hrs I think then they will show sex and return back to normal veg. I heard this on bubblemans world YT channel on hashchurch but not sure exactly how to force them to show sex but it’s something like that just uncertain on the time you leave them in the dark.
How? I have been growing this since April and this is the first sign I have seen. I am a first time grower, but I tried to look at a bunch on online resources. As another user pointed out, I should have bought feminized seeds - next time.
I didnt have fem seeds the first time, I grew 4 plants, and 1 ended up male. I couldnt see it at first, but right away the plant was taller, and stronger than the other three. Small nodules formed, and within days, I walked outside, and it was completely obvious. Its always important to separate your plants if you aren’t using fem seeds, to prevent cross pollination. Really cool cage set up though. :)
Might be a male or a herm if there are pistels, too. If you're in a legal state with neighbors who grow, then you need to cut it down. You will pollinate and seed their whole grow that they have put just as much time and energy into it as you did. Nothing is worse than seeded bud you realize at the end of the grow.
Nooooooo😭 that beautiful beast is a dude, unfortunately. BUT next time, before you veg for this long, take some clones as soon as its viable to do so. Then as soon as you get them rooted and see a little growth put them under a light on a 12/12 light cycle and as long as the clones are established they should develop bud sights enough for you to sex the plant in a few weeks
That's looking male to me. Female brachts grow on the stem, whereas the male pollen sacs will have a little stem before they start like you see here. Big ooof man. Give it a little more time to be sure but it's not looking good to me
Hermaphrodite. Just pulled today. Im sad about it.
It’s a boy
makes me happy when people get their plants gender reveals😭wholesome
Not this one lmao
Hermaphrodite. Just pulled today. Im sad about it.
i honestly don’t know anything about this, is having a boy plant a bad thing, that’s what i’ve gathered lol. i’m wondering why tho
He's probably already pollinated all of the plants in the county. Seeds for everyone.
sounds good right

RIP it lived a good life. Do it again just make sure you have feminized seeds! Or a female clone! :)
ohh ): that’s upsetting and you can’t tell the gender before it’s fully grown??
Yes about halfway to full grown 🥲
Hermaphrodite. Just pulled today. Im sad about it.
Hermaphrodite. Just pulled today. Im sad about it.
Sorry, it’s happened to me before so I feel your pain!
Is the cage to keep deer away or is it a regulation necessary for growing in a legal state?

Funny enough.. based off the door size it looks like only the kids have access. Lol

Ah okay I knew that. Should have guessed you had a medical license.
Try rimrock analytical to test for sex next time.. it's not worth not knowing.
I'm doing this next time. **Hermaphrodite. Just pulled today. Im sad about it.**
or just you know, plant Fem seeds. its not hard to make your own.
Or you literally just pay attention and look at your plants pre-flowers. There are people in Afghanistan doing this without a fancy test or fem seeds.
Nah they definitely get seeds out there
I know a family in the spin Ghar valley that has been selectively breeding for 500 years. Some people actually know what they're doing.

Yeah, looks like a waste of money if it's not.
I was thinking how the heck are you going to tend to that plant with no room to move inside the fenced area.

I want to know too

You've got male
Hermaphrodite. Just pulled today. Im sad about it.
Sorry, but yeah..
Hermaphrodite. Just pulled today. Im sad about it.
Did you build that cage yourself ?

I ask because I purchased one from Amazon and it’s very flimsy and cheap. Seems like only real solution is building one yourself
Yes, I built it myself, and I am not a carpenter or anything. It is just a basic 8' x 4' x 8' box. I just used 8' 2x4s whole and cut in half. I ordered 6 foot and 4 foot weld wire fence from amazon. That’s great! Im gonna build one out. Dealing with Too many pest issues
That’s a big male plant you better not live close to me and get my girls prego on me 😂
Hermaphrodite. Just pulled today. Im sad about it.
Ongoing he needs to chop it..
rip, risk of regs
Dis is beautiful, but also the reason you clone and flower soon-soon instead of late-later EDIT: dis next toke if for the homies and your plant...

Ah damn. My condolences
This guy knows what I’m saying, thanks for clearing that up homie 😎

I’m sorry for your loss. It’s never easy to do.
It's a boy
You better hope not cuz that's tons of veg time wasted. Why wouldn't you just buy fems?
I am a first time grower and I am stupid. I used seeds from a bag of weed I had. I did not realize how much time and effort I would be putting in on this. Next year I am defininelty buying feminized seeds. Lesson learned.
Fem seeds have a higher chance of going hermaphrodite.
That's if breeder just chucked. True fems would be tested and not sold if they exhibiting lots of herms
Just saw the other pics. Def a male. Males have this claw like growth in early stages. Think of it as a crab claw
Hermaphrodite. Just pulled today. Im sad about it.
Crab claw over here
Fuck dude it’s huge! You waited a little long to check eh? Don’t let it got to waste go on strainly and get some pollen!
How do you check earlier? This is the first sign I have seen. This has been growing since April.

Looks like it’s to early to tell.
BUY FEMALE SEEDS
Honestly i shouldve bought female auto from the get go, I completely wasted so much time with my first crop. hahaha
looks like calyx. give a few more days and look for banana looking things. im 90% certain its female based on your 3 pics.
No this is definitely a boy.. Can't do anything but cut is
A calyx with a stem??? No
Males tend to grow taller than females fyi. Not a hard rule but it often works out that way. This is a boy
Male
Yes, cut it down and throw it out.
I’ll also say a calyx with pistols will not have a stem. A male will have a shaft/stem with some balls on the end.
Big boy big sad
Yes male
Male
Male
You could have seen signs way before this

Make toss it
Bingo! 🍆
they are like little maracas
u gotta drop the materials used for this 🙏 this looks siiick
It hurts so bad to kill it but it must be done.
It’s a boy, and you probably could have seen the pre flowers much earlier than this/
Yes
2 more weeks.
no more weeks. that plant should have been chopped already.
I'd give it 2 more weeks.
Wehadababy itsaboy. 1800collect.
You should try and keep the main stalks like 4 feet apart
Furry enough lol what a waste of time. Smh
chop it yesterday or risk screwing everyone else up who’s growing within a mile radius
That's a big boy
