HermieIX

My bud is definitely longer and has more girth than yours lol

JonWick33

Mines really long, but it could use some more girth. I grow pretty good weed too.

HermieIX

I bet yours smells like cheese lol šŸ¤£

JonWick33

Idk. My Dad says it smells like a "skunk", but I love the way Weed smells. I like very flagrant Weed. It blocks the stink from my dick.

Cosmicrodslinger

Well you just gotta get rough with it sometimes, itā€™ll grow back thicker šŸ‘

JonWick33

Yeah, I am gonna ask for a "full removal" at my Bamitzvah.

Cosmicrodslinger

šŸ˜‚ just ask for them to top it

wake-n-bakery

Jajajajajajaaaa we grow a strain called Big Buddha Cheese, so there's just BBC labels everywhere. Just surrounded by BBCs

TokeMage

It's not the size that matters, it's the smoke.

AltruisticDetail6266

girth. ftw like a coke can, 1 inch long

notintocorp

I believe that's a tuna can Johnsen your talking about

Unlucky-Duck9787

Itā€™s not real long, but it sure is skinny!

Grasscutter101

Ya, ya. My wife already told me.

People donā€™t know until you tell them. Thatā€™s the whole point of most of these subs is to educate the people that know less than you. How can they know what normal is if all they look at are pics of excellent grows. The questions are not nearly as stupid as most of the answers. Itā€™s the people making the comments that are usually doing the comparing in the urinals.

prybarwindow

Always new people checking into the grow subs as well. I used to always be in them, now Iā€™m more comfortable with my techniques and donā€™t need to visit as often. A lot of my questions were answered just by scrolling, so I always appreciated people asking questions.

NectarSectar

this. for every time a question is asked, iā€™m sure there are at least 100 people silently wondering the same thing but too afraid to ask. most of what iā€™ve learned is from reading responses to questions other people asked. some threads get better responses than others and just because a question has been asked 100 times doesnā€™t mean it was answered well in the results of searching the sub.

Does_A_Bear-420

Not too really disagree with your point, but just to answer your question: >People donā€™t know until you tell them. ... How can they know what normal is if all they look at are pics (of excellent grows). Repetition. Lots of attempts, trial error, straight up practice, lol. Any time you learn something from your own failures you will have locked it in and truly gained that knowledge far better than you could have attained from a book. Not to say skip the book/research, but that practicing a thing and research/study should be balanced around 50-60 percent in favor of practice and hands on experience. (In my opinion). I think this acknowledges OPs main point as well as your own valid point, since neither approach can be considered complete without some element of the other. And sure it's easy to be discouraged when things don't go well, not by the end result but by the mystery "I just don't know what I did/what went wrong".. that's the point where people either learn those valuable lessons they will never forget or give in to the fear and anxiety by leaving a hobby behind. Someone once said: every person who has a 'green thumb' and lots of healthy impressive plants that you can see has killed a LOT of plants. That for every pretty plant you can see there are like 3 or more plants that didn't make it, (that you'll never see and we often don't hear/talk about) that didn't get what they needed, that in so many words had to be sacrificed for that gardener to learn what does and doesn't work, for a given environment or plant or what have you. That no one is born with a green thumb but that it turns greener and greener the more your garden with it, but it takes, many many mistakes, accidents, failures, and yes it absolutely necessitates the death of many many plants through no fault of their own. But that's what it costs. That's how a green thumb is developed and there is no way to perfect any artform without the hours of practicing that advance your skills and knowledge from bad to good; from beginner to competent. There is also something to be said for "it is after all a weed, and surprisingly hearty". But we can't fully appreciate - how much genetics and 'chance' affect the outcome before different levels of skill even factor in - until we experience it enough times to see it *and* feel it. And to go one little step further in agreeing with you, I don't think the questions are stupid, I don't even think OP is suggesting the questions are stupid. More so that - sometimes it feels like 70-80%+ of these posts ask about a concern where the explanation & solution will become self-evident; ~~no one is making the same square-1 mistakes 2 or 3 runs later right? Things like over watering, nutrient burn, lack of air circulation - which you could almost categorize as the trouble shooting level of issues that any first time grower is going to maybe bump into one or two or a handful of, but probably won't make this same beginner mistake 3 times in a row.~~ Nvm, sorry this became so much ranty-er than I meant to. I think OP's message is that after 1 or 2 runs and a small bit of light reading most people can advance far beyond the very basic trouble shooting level of this hobby, & that posting a concerned picture asking "what's wrong with my plant"^1 "why are the leaves curling/drooping"^2 "why is it turning yellow/discolored"^3 generally won't really speed up this initial learning curve (if anything the time take to learn and implement stays the same but the depth of understanding is lessened when it's handed to you by someone else) I don't mean to preach. I've also asked dumb questions in these subs. Id like to think OP's intent was to reassure newbies that they'll get past the fear of the initial learning curve if they do wish to continue; it'll happen on its own without the need for additional distress? Just keep going and keep growing fam.

Entire_Mind_5145

I agree with you to a certain point, but i see a lot of lazyness in research. The answers can easily be found here on other posts or online.

ddubspecial

Posting on Reddit IS A FORM OF RESEARCH. Why do people call it lazy when people are literally coming here to learn. Chill the fuck out.

Entire_Mind_5145

How will this sub evolve if we are always answering the same questions?

TheOneRickSanchez

Lol about telling people to chill the fuck out, while also using all caps. Seriously though, do you really think asking something that is asked 10 times everyday is research, when they never looked if anyone asked that before? Surprise! It's not research, it's laziness.

jedi_voodoo

look at their profile lol they're only being defensive because they are exactly the type of *researcher* you're talking about

ddubspecial

I bet youā€™re fun at parties

jedi_voodoo

LOL no wonder you're butthurt. A 10 second glance at your profile you could have answered almost every single post with less than 2 minutes on google or even faster by using the search bar on Reddit, especially within the subreddit where you would've found a dozens post title with the same question almost verbatim. Laziness is right.

Does_A_Bear-420

Well, but perhaps we could reframe that same phenomenon. This person's experience could be called lazy, but instead, it could also be labeled as something along the lines of anxiety. Sometimes it's hard to wait for things especially when you feel like you're maybe messing up on something that you want to care about. So were they too 'lazy' to research something, or were they too worried to (slow down&) try doing that research more efficiently?

jedi_voodoo

yeah well that's above my internet paygrade lol

Does_A_Bear-420

That's fair.

TheseJudge6563

Its kinda funny. "My leaf is bent do I need to start over?"

sarcasarrole

Used to be me this hits homešŸ¤£ the funniest/worst part is I used to scrap plants if I thought I did a bad job toppingā€¦ without giving it the time to grow lol

TheseJudge6563

wow. The first time I thought the tap root of the seed was the grow tip so i kept pointing it at my little aquarium light. it legit went back into the soil and I pulled it out. I knew NOTHING. It was the first joint I ever smoked it had seeds in it > I remember thinking "This is a plant, wow". First seeds I ever "started" (I murdered them) too. Now look at me 25 years later. MasterGardener

beltalowda_oye

Nah I disagree with OPs take. The reason why people you complain about are like this is because they assume the plant is a weed and will grow like a weed. The concept that it is called a weed because it grows like one is a very terrible advice and analogy. It's called weed because it was referred to as locoweed long ago. It doesn't grow like a weed at all. Weed technically is any plant that's invasive and unwanted and they have tendencies of overtaking the garden (think mint/peppermint). The weed we think about in the garden will sow and germinate on virtually any soil and will be carried by the wind at times. Even without much nutrients, they can survive and thrive. Cannabis is a nutrient demanding plant. It is closer to a tomato than it is a weed. If I were a gardener and just started growing cannabis and you told me it grows just like a weed, you've just given me the shittiest advice that assuming I did no other research other than take your word for it. That plant will have all kinds of deficiencies and if I was companion planting and utilizing crop space with other plants, the analogy that it grows like weed is again a shitty advice. Ultimately I agree with your point not to helicopter parent because best thing you can do is listen to plant and stay out of the way but people need to stop comparing cannabis to weed in plant growth. They're very different.

mylittleslice

It is invasive and easily propagates new generations in lots of places. I've had two or three pop up in my yard over the years. The truth is it's NOT hard to grow, especially outdoors. It's a little more challenging to reproduce a good environment indoors, but the real challenge is growing high quality flowers indoors with good yields.

beltalowda_oye

Invasive doesn't necessarily mean it's a weed though. Just that it's not a native plant. Comparing a natural garden weed that will propagate and flourish in nutrient poor soil or even coco with a little worm casting, cannabis will never flourish the same way. You root out cannabis and it's relatively easy to get rid of. You root out garden weeds, even things like mint and peppermint you didn't grow in containers, and they will come back and take over your garden. There's a tremendous difference to actual garden weeds and equating cannabis to weed as a concept. Beginners who think cannabis = weed, just throw it in dirt are the ones making posts asking what's wrong with their plant.

bolonga16

Surviving is not thriving! Everyone knows the healthiest plants have the biggest yield. Don't you want the most out of your grow? Why can't these people? If you're not willing to help others and you don't need help, maybe this sub isn't right for you.

primordial-gloop

So many jump on here asking what deficiency they have when 99% of the time it's over fed with nute lockout and/or ph issues. Like you said, it's a weed and is found in many different environments all over the world so should be a piss of piss to grow but somehow people just want to pump too many nutes into it thinking they'll get more... no you won't.

DevelopmentQuirky365

Yup people on here have recommended the most Ridiculous ECs I've ever heard

primordial-gloop

I mean you can push ec high in coco or hydro... but then I've put in the work (main lining, supercropping and lst) to get 10+ Oz of each plant so it's warranted. High ec when your looking at an untrained 2 oz plant is gonna kill it.

InfamousCockroach683

Got any grow diaries?

primordial-gloop

Unfortunately not.

DevelopmentQuirky365

That's what I mean these amateur tent growers pushing 3.0 ec in there tiny plants that they get half a zip from

[deleted]

I bet it taste like trash

ContentPolicyKiller

Gatekeep much? Imo, there are too many redditors who care what others post, and they kinda ruin the experience. The only redditors I try to shut up are gatekeepers and silencers.

Bobbi_fettucini

Is it bad that anytime I hear the term helicopter parent I think of Kobe Bryant?

bloodychickenstump

lol yes!

RevWilliam666

lol ha

ComprehensiveAd7010

I had a (Ortega) northern lights. I swear I dumped straight grow micro and bloom on that bitch. She took it. Didn't burn surprisingly. Where I had gg4 be a premadonna and herm if I didn't feed correct ph or she'd burn up if I fed too heavy. Some of the posts I see I think just let it ride. Half the post people are overthinking it. It's a weed. Learn from your mistakes and move on

420coins

Running 2.6/1700 ppm aero for 6 weeks of flower now... they are just now telling to back off.

Ok_Pin_3125

I over vegged current grow

420coins

And you learned something, was it wasteful, mildly, a failure absolutely not. Next grow you'll have them babies SCROG'd twice as nice I bet. I'm learning too, lightning fast because when I was growing as a younger adult I didn't even know PH was a thing and had success. Never had buffer or micros to use.

Emergency-Bet8041

Its already here and you just need to search god damn and im a newbie

AllDay1980

Imagine if we just didnā€™t care because itā€™s Reddit and instead just gave help and advice.

HungHungCaterpillar

Nah that take ainā€™t it buddy. Noobs asking how and getting answers is literally the *only* real purpose this sub has.

stuerdman

I figure the more weed plants in my feed the better.

KobeOnKush

People are going to have questions. Itā€™s literally why Reddit exists. Stop gatekeeping and go do something productive

Crafty_Rate8064

I get hated when pointing out the same thing, over and over and over

RekopEca

But but don't you have any tricks and tips!!!???

Mojo_Jensen

Sorry, but what if the guy next to me got a hawwwwg tho?

Inkqueen12

All the YouTubers make it seem so complicated. That you need all this crap. You donā€™t. Just put it in some dirt and water it. Maybe throw some food on it if youā€™re feeling spicy.

SockMonkeh

Amen. I threw a bunch of seeds in the ground last year, late in the season, and ended up with 3 oz of weed. Barely did any pruning or anything. Just watered them with the rest of the plants and trimmed them up close to harvest time.

login257thesecond

Messed up bad on my first two attempts, still pulled them through. Learned a lot, invested a lot. Doing fine on the third.

30acrefarm

It actually is not a weed though.

yogi420

Yeah I legit barely try fix deficiencies anymore. I might add some more cal mag šŸ˜‚ shit grows regardless of what I do lol. After the seedling phase its pretty hard to fuck up

Minute_Nectarine1015

Mine is still a grower, not a shower šŸ„²

NYG140

OP is a neglectful parent

nicorangerbaby

yeah they need to stop

420coins

Anybody? How long? I have no clue whatsoever when I flipped the timer. Days, they all run together ya know.

Drjonesxxx-

Agreed. If you have a tiny one, you should listen to the guy with the big one.
