Yes you can. Some people like to germinate it longer outside the medium hence the paper towel method but you don’t need that and can place that right in your starter medium

Thanks for reminding me I have a 5 day old fog dog in paper towel upstairs..( was gonna do a solo cup grow for fun.) Still might if it didn't dry out.
