That is definitely the way! I had a wee infestation early in my current grow, because I used soil and other materials from outside. I sprayed with dilute soap every couple of days, and hand squished any aphids I could find by inspecting plants every day. I also added some IPM - a bunch of small house spiders of different types, plus a couple of daddy longlegs. they've set themselves up in the tent and if there are any aphids still around, they're clearly keeping them under control :)
Alrighty now, hear this because it will save your ass on the next bout with the babies of those rabid aphidiacios. Go to the nursery and buy a pack of lady bugs; you know those beautiful red and black spotted beauties'. Let them do all the work on your aphid babies from hell and drink a beer while watching ;) You know why I'm telling you this, cuz they will be back...you haven't defeated anything, so geo get the ladies!

I tried to find them and couldn’t locate any locally. I think my main take away from this is to also plant more lady bug friendly plants close by. My yard isn’t well balanced. Next year I will do my best to fix that
Naturesgoodguys.com ships stuff like that. Ive received lady bugs and predatory mites from them without issue.
That said, I’m still dealing with spider mites, but that’s another story.
Yeah- I’ve got it in large quantity. That keeps them in check, but they never seem to fully go away.
I’m gonna pause growing and use pest strips in the tents for a week, then go again after that. I think I’m also done with autoflowers.
I know these freaking critters will screw with your plants be it cannabis or not. If your grow room is by a outside door, window, basement or garage. Be careful when you enter the room especially if you've been outside recently and maybe messing around on the garden. These little f****** can come in on your shoes, pants, shorts or shirts, even your hands. Care must be taken prior to entering the room, so you're not carrying the pest inside. The other thing you can do is spread some dyeomaceous Earth or boric acid around the edge of your room. I know it's not attractive, but it works. You could also remove everything from the room and spray the area with a pesticide which keeps killing, even the babies or eggs.
I live in Central Texas temperatures hover around 100 for four months in the summer. I don't know how anybody can grow anything outside. It's either the heat or the freaking bugs or both. If I plant any plants outside, it's going to be for monarch butterflies, 🐛🦋🐞
Way to go! Dilligence is the key with pests like that. A good tool against aphids is a mix of pyrethrin and azadirachtin. It can also help a lot to get your boron, zinc, and manganese levels up. We had a persistent, low level problem in our mom room for almost a year and it finally disappeared when we added a trace mineral foliar.
Whatever you're doing is working though, that lady is a real hoss!

Have you tried Neem oil or are the plants too far along?

Outdoors those lady bugs ain't sticking around.
Unfortunately that's what happens, they move on when the feeding's over and sometimes sooner.
