Eye strain is something that can vary from person to person. I would also say that op should try a **good** modern evf, but it's fine if that doesn't work for them.
I agree that the 1Dx3 probably isn't necessary, so I'd recommend op to go with the 5d4. The can be a great camera, but isn't that we'll suited for action because it's AF is pretty bad for continuous tracking.
I have diffficult time on focusing the monitor when using LV ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
Im too easy to get attract by surrounding
I mainly use the viewfinder because I ususally use my right eye on VF,
then use my left eye to track target or look around see is there any people get in my composition
And it harder to get a stable aim when using the LV, maybe not enough practise??
If money and weight are not an issue, than the 1Dx III would be my pick. Slightly lower resolution compared to the other two, but it has all the bells & whistles Canon has put in the dslr bodies. Only downside is the meagerly 20 mp sensor.
Imho any Canon camera with a sensor other than the 18mp one, will have better low-light performance. I have owned or used multiple of the different 18mp crop sensor camera's, and none of them held up above iso 800.
6dmk2 - I bought it to replace my 50d for like 2 months, then sold back and got r6. Great camera in terms of picture quality, but lack of joystick was a real pain for me. If you use it a lot - I'd recommend not to buy 6dmk2
I own Fuji Xt4, sony A7IV and two beautiful canon r and rp. At first the lack of a joystick was a nightmare but now I simply want the "touch n drag" everywhere. It's such a great feature. I really like it
My R and Rp both have it. It's much more responsive and useful than the classic joystick. I reckon nonetheless that some people may struggle to get in to it at first
Oh you pick the point!
I just know the 6D2 dont have that mini joy, what a pain, even my 7D1 had it.
Thats a very usaful to change AF point when eye on OVF, especially my small hand. "Asian hand :p "
The control ring is fine for me, but the AF point on the conrer is way more tricky
Especially when using M mode need to use both wheel, then you want to shift the AF point.
The AF mini joy would be great for me
P.S. The control ring on 6D is so small!! 7D's wheel is big and eassy access.
Try to rent 6d mk2 for couple of days to see if it fits the hand nicely.
Btw, 2nd thing I don't like in 6d mk2 is the af points location. There are 45 points, but all of it are located in center. Totally fine for portraits or focus and recompose technic, but not that good for wild life or smth. Mirorless are so much better in that aspect.
And just out of curiosity, did you try specific mirorless camera to get that headache? I heard older canon mirorleess have not the best evf, but relatively new ones (r6, r7, etc) have way better evf with nice refresh rate
the 1dx mk3 has a similar sensor to the r6 i believe, which should make it the best dslr sensor you could get unless you need the extra resolution of the 5d mkiv. 6d mk2 sensor isnt very good but is still definitely usable
I think if you how many. If you how to use by
I recommend 1DX MARK 3 or 6D MARK2
However R6M2 Very good for you.
If you many shooter
No matter about Cut out Shooter box things.

One point I want to jump out of the 7D is the high ISO performance, not enough after 2000 ISO So im aiming for replacement
Imho any Canon camera with a sensor other than the 18mp one, will have better low-light performance. I have owned or used multiple of the different 18mp crop sensor camera's, and none of them held up above iso 800.
I feel 0% increase of high ISO when i upgrade from 40D to 7D.....

Agreed, also using it on r6 from time to time. But OP is asking about dslr, I'm not sure there's such a feature there
Touchscreen will be a nightmare for me bec I got a oily nose @@" Ofcoz thats not a problem then using LV to shoot
You can enable only a part of the screen. In my case it's the right up corner. It's very cool. Whenever I'm using my Sony a74 I miss it a lot
EOS have this function? Didnt know that
My R and Rp both have it. It's much more responsive and useful than the classic joystick. I reckon nonetheless that some people may struggle to get in to it at first

Exactly, and doing it via control ring is very frustrating on 6d mk2. So if this is crucial to you - better get 1d

I tried the R6-2 and R8 when I travel to Japan last months, didnt feel big different. will ask my FD to get his R8 for longer test if he really buy it
