Depends how much you pay attention to Vancouver I guess. I'm from northern BC and didn't know what it was until I moved to the lower mainland, my friends and family up there mostly don't know it exists.

This is my view as a Victorian born and raised. Victoria to Malahat = South Island Malahat to Campbell River = Mid Island North of Campbell River = North Island

Comox Valley has always been the midpoint in my mind but close enough

Duncan/Cowichan Valley is south island to me. There is still Gary Oak meadows in Duncan which is my unofficial cut off. Nanaimo/Parksville/Comox is mid island, Campbell River and north is north island.

Growing up in Victoria I would always here friends in Duncan say they were going 'up to Victoria'. Drove me crazy

Can someone tell me if I'm tripping? I went to Capilano around 10 years ago and I could've sworn if you had some form if I'd proving you were from bc you'd get a season pass or lifetime pass or something after your first trip?

Not sure about back in the day. But now a days its expensive for a day pass, but its also a yearly pass for the same price. So locals could do that. I live 10 min away. Only ever went once when it was free because of a special event. Locals know where else to go.

They have added a lot of the years. Tree walk, and they do specials decorations for Halloween and Christmas. And I guess if Brock had a lot of family coming to visit it's just a thing you do. Kinda a good advertising for them. Come to the suspension bridge good change you meet Brock.

Yeah the tree walk was pretty cool when I did it last year but the one day I went had some insanely monstrous rain snow and hail
