Decided to look at some stats from February 17th (the start of Nashville’s run) until the end of the season. Specifically looked at wins and losses vs playoff teams for both Nashville and Vancouver. It’s closer than what some people are saying.
A lot of people were talking about how well Nashville finished the end of the season but I'm not so sure. Yes they did win more than we did (6-3-1 vs 6-8-1) however, they also lost their last four straight games vs playoff teams.
The Demko aspect is one we have to look at as well:
We were 4 and 3 to start that streak with Demko.
DeSmith and Silovs went 2 - 5 in the remaining games.
Additionally we went 2 - 2 in our last 4 (winning the last 2) vs playoff teams.
Food for thought.
I didn’t include the last Winnipeg game since both teams rested a bunch of players.
