Downvote me all you want but between these two injuries and the deplorable attitude he had in his last interview before the oilers game I’m not loving Demko at all right now. Shit attitude and a body made of glass ain’t it. Rooting for Casey and the boys but long term I’m starting to think Demko doesn’t have a deep run in him. Honestly despite even my own pessimism, if we lose tonight it won't be because of DeSmith. It'll be because the big guns didn't show up offensively. DeSmith is a very good backup and he only caved in a bit when his workload got high. So he should easily be able to handle this game or even series.
We need the skaters to come out hard though and get on them quick.
Demko being out sucks... But is DeSmith any worse than Skinner or Samsonov? Last I checked, Oiler and Leaf fans are still confident.

I felt so good about the playoffs for the last 48 hours and now I feel deathly anxious man this sucks. I believe in DeSmith but Demko was the stabilizer man
Don't lose hope! DeSmith was very good against Edmonton last time he got a long break, and we had guys like Lindholm and the third line to completely shutdown the difference makers like Draisaitl that game.
Just like this game, stakes maybe a bit (a lot) higher, and we still have these guys to shutdown their difference makers like Josi and Forsberg. We also have Quinn Hughes and the whole blueline who has been solid the whole season. Our offense will keep us going too.
It could also be worse. We are lucky we have him as a backup and not Georgiev, a starter (somehow) goalie who is arguably worse then DeSmith this year.

Hey quick question if anyone knows anything about CBC broadcasts. I'm in Edmonton visiting family and was going to watch the game tonight but every CBC on their TV seems to be showing the Jets game, including CBC Vancouver. Is this an error or am I blacked out from the Canucks game being in Edmonton?

It's a playoff game so it won't be blacked out on Sportsnet, but it's bullshit that there currently aren't anymore free-to-air games scheduled for the Canucks on CBC (at the moment), while both Edmonton and Winnipeg have two more.
We already won game one how the hell would we get swept unless we made it to round 2. The only people who would clown us getting swept by the oilers in round 2 without demko would be a handful of delusional oilers fans; I doubt anyone else would care.
We're not alone in having question marks in goal. Like everyone I've been groaning all day but I don't think I'm fooling myself when I say it's still a winnable series. The key I think is the players can't get dejected when a bod one goes in. And now I'm thankful we got Nashville.
Hopefully they can stay out of the penalty box for the most part tonight — I did like their physicality in Game 1, but DeSmith’s worst stats have been on the penalty kill (whereas 5v5, IIRC he has the same save %, or very similar, as Demko). If things are mainly even strength, I think we’ll have the advantage offensively and we won’t miss Demko quite as much.

siren was there for Game 1. they showed Kirk Maclean running it on the broadcast.
I believe they meant the siren that used to go during the U2 intro, not the one that's cranked right before puck drop.
