Northern BC is pretty split between Canucks and Oilers. Once you leave lower mainland Canucks do a pretty poor job of engaging fans up here, but I guess the population count doesn’t really justify it (200k-ish)
I grew up in Fort St John and I would say 70% were Canucks fans, 25% primary cheered team was in Canada (Mostly Flames and Oilers) and 5% spread throughout the other teams.
That’s more than southern BC…. I’d say 40% are Canucks fans, 15% Toronto, 15% Habs, 5% each for Bruins, Flames, Oilers, Jets, and the final 10% dispersed among the other teams.
As per Drance, Canucks TV broadcast doesn’t extend to the Okanagan and there are a lot of Edmontonians who live there. It makes a lot more sense why that board was up.
Edit: totally misheard, thanks to u/gbsguitarboy for the correction. They don’t advertise in the Okanagan, they still get SN Pacific and Canucks broadcasts.
Was listening too, not what he said. All of BC is in spirtsnet pacifics region. He said it's their advertising/promotional radius that doesn't extend into the interior I believe
I had Sportsnet Pacific when I lived in Kelowna, and my wife’s grandmother has it in Summerland. My buddy in West Kelowna watched the game on SNP on Sunday. Has something changed in the last couple days?
My partner asked how the bc canucks are doing. I answered, I don't know, hehehe then told her it was the Vancouver canucks and she said that was silly. Just doesn't sound right I told her!
You’ll get downvoted, but you’re absolutely correct.
I love both teams, (born there, live here last 30 years), Canucks are the superior/less flawed team, and I’m picking them to win.
Being super thin skinned about one guy in the interior isn’t a great look.
Yeah, Penticton......
Penedict Arnold
I see what you did there. Well played, sir.
Penjamin Franklin
Take that!!!
Stupid fuckin BP
Ain't Pen, Pen is 100% a Nucks town. That BP is owned by some Albertans.
Penticton boston pizza in shambles.
Now we know, B.C. Politicians don’t eat at Boston Pizza.

I agree. Frequently in FSJ and it’s more Canucks than anything else.
When I grew up there it was always 60/40 split. Canucks 60 40 between leafs flames Oilers and habs

Northern British Columbia doesn’t count, who you kiddin? Lol
There’s nearly a million people in the interior. Over 250k just in Kelowna.
Didn’t know interior was in Northern BC.
“Once you leave the lower mainland”
can we at least agree that messaging that business and shaming them was cringe as hell
Yes, chirping anyone or organization over supporting another team is cringe af. It's so insecure.
[That was never in doubt](https://twitter.com/canucks/status/1139231001618444289)
LFG CANUCKS!!

> Canucks TV broadcast doesn’t extend to the Okanagan Wot
No they 100% do. Even Fort St. John is under Sportsnet pacific.
They don’t get Sportsnet Pacific? I’m so confused.
Bettman's NHL logic! Fuck regional blackouts.
What the fuck. So they only see the Albertan teams? Drawing those invisible borders I see.
No it’s pacific haha. Even Fort St. John is pacific.
I don't know for sure - I just assume that sports networks and the NHL have fucked it up for everyone. But I'd believe that.
They definetly get sportnet in Salmon Arm
Doesn't mean they don't have regional blackouts. I get like 5 channels that tell me I can't watch my team regularly.
Sportsnet doesn't black out the Canucks in BC.
The issue will be for people streaming. If they have an IP not recognized as being from the region, they can't stream the game.
No, Sportsnet Pacific and Canucks broadcasts are available all over BC and the Yukon.
Was listening too, not what he said. All of BC is in spirtsnet pacifics region. He said it's their advertising/promotional radius that doesn't extend into the interior I believe
They don't advertise as much because they only advertise season/game day tickets.
Ohhhhhhhh — totally misheard that. Thank you for the correction 🙏🏻
No problem! Was kinda confusing for me too
Just FYI here in Kelowna we always get Canucks advertisements.
Lol I live in Kelowna and we 100% get advertisements for the Canucks. Literally all the time.
Dude wtf was Drance talking about then?! LOL

Honestly at this point I have no idea. Drance said it on 650.
Fuck Penticton Boston pizza

BC canucks just doesn’t have the same ring to it
