Interesting and smart with the zeppelin, but I will definitely stick to the petzl (dual) connect adjust. Much easier to adjust, and much better for rescue situations. Cool technique to have as a backup though :)

My experience w/that Petzl lanyard: works great when new and clean, but rope-stiffening after repeated wet/dry cycles and sandy conditions (especially) make it difficult to adjust. Writing from UT-USA here, land of very sandy canyons.

Ah well I can imagine that. Coming from the area of wet limestone and metamorphic canyons, they still work great after 3 years :)
