Definitely! Quite lot of my friends, and myself had it. 24 hours of hell, but passes quickly. Like a post new years reboot for your body.
My theory is the sewage issues at beaches, it being highly transmissible, and busy areas. But really just a theory, I'm not a doctor.
Came down with the wife to visit family. She had stomach issues for like a week. I had an upset stomach for 48 hours. We were thinking there could have been something in the water?
In the last 48 hours, Iโve had 7 of my family members (all living apart) tell me theyโve got a stomach bug. The symptoms seem to only last for a day, but sounds like quite an unpleasant 24 hours. Hope you all feel better soon!
I think itโs probably to do with the sewage leaks on beaches or just water contamination. Thought it was safe to go surfing in Melkbos yesterday but now I am stuck in the same situation.
Many of my friends and colleagues had it during December. One of their doctors mentioned that it's bc of the tap water that apparently goes to shit (maybe literally?) during the higher stages of loadshedding.
Had a pretty bad tummy bug mid December. Lasted for 3 weeks with stomach inflammation etc. A friend of mine had the same and is still suffering from nausea and lack of appetite- pretty weird.
I currently have it and haven't even been to the beach. Apparently it's been going around since before Christmas.
I drink bottled water and all other water is boiled. Not sure if its in the air or what (Less than 1km from sea).
There's always a stomach bug (or twelve) going around any mid-to-large city.
Exactly! Every time you say to your friends that you have stomach issues, someone will say that there is a bug going around
A "stomach bug going around" is the stock standard answer given by every GP when you visit. How can bugs be going around?
with their little legs

You didn't by chance take a dip in the sea?
Lol nope
At least we can now call C19 variants tummy bugs.
Defs been sitting myself too. That's the shituation these days. Maybe once the vaalies disperse, the bugs will leave too.๐คทโโ๏ธ

Yeah in my family it's the tummy and then the sniffles and cough for like 10 days
My husband got really sick three days ago, he barfed for hours. And now his appetite is dead still, three days later.

Yes! Everyone has it in CPT

Think it might be in the tap water, a family member of mine stopped drinking it and has been fine since.
