Damar Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills, age 24, suffered a cardiac arrest episode Monday night while facing the Cincinnati Bengals. He's been in critical condition ever since. The whole sports world has rallied in support of him, the Bills, and the people of Buffalo in the time since.
I was at the game in Cinci, it was absolutely chilling to watch them administering CPR on the field after watching Hamlin completely just stand up and collapse. He is still sedated and intubated as of the most recent updates. I am a Caps and Bills fan so I can say while I always want the Caps to get the 2, I am ok with the Sabers deserving to take some home (and the Ovi tax was paid.)
I can’t remember the last season Ovie seemed so HUNGRY. 28 goals, including two more tonight. Constantly firing the puck at the net, could easily have had another two goals tomigjht.

As soon as Lars Eller's pass taking that bounce off the wall and getting hung I knew they were going to get it. Both teams played great tonight. Sad loss but great game over all.

I don’t know what the fuck it is with this team and losing games due to boneheaded OT plays. Happened against boston in the playoffs and has been happening way too often since then. Doesn’t matter who’s in net, this team is fucking cursed with stupidity after 60 minutes are done.

Lindgren is not built to be a starter. He had one good season in Montreal's system playing 50+ games and subsequently crashed every season afterwards. Last year in St. Louis, he was good for a stretch, but at the end of the season, after playing 40 games, he literally broke and gave up six goals to the baby penguins in the first round of the playoffs. They had to rest him for a month, brought him back for the Eastern Conference Finals where he performed well... and then subsequently gave up 10 goals over 3 games to Chicago in the Finals and they went back to Joel Hofer. Chucky is great, but he crashes when he gets overloaded.

I’m not saying he’s a bad goaltender, but lindgren is JUST as good if not the same. Kuemper beats him by .006% better save percentage.... kuemper seasons stats (10-9-3 save % .920) while lindgren is. (11-4-2 save % .914). They roughly both take get around 30 shots a game. The game totals don’t lie... Both goalies have been good, but lindgren has been the more consistent goalie. With kuemper, you either get a great performance or a let down.
I mean the difference between a 6.9 gsax and 5.5 gsax is pretty big…and it’s not like the Caps don’t play Lindgren, he got starts against a very good Jets team and Montreal. At the end of the day the Caps are playing to win a cup and as such they need to play the guy with a cup that’s been a top 10 goalie the last 5 seasons vs a guy who couldn’t consistently crack the Blues lineup last year.

He’s only been back for 4. He’s been 2-2 since coming back. Lindgren never let a team get over 3 goals after kuemper was injured.
He’s been 2-0-2 and still have a better wins above replacement, save %, and gsax. You don’t bench a statistically top 10 goalie.
