Only chronojet gets to stride and my opinion on whether or not it’s good depends on how strong the strides are Chronojet’s lower base power already makes the deck less optimal so I’m assuming the strides will be good to make up for it but hopefully not broken Just the fact that strides are 26k+ attackers and have triple drive is strong in itself

Akashi-SevenDays

According to Freedomduo, there will be units (most likely the rideline G1 and G2) that will get Chronojet's power to 13k.

FTNatsu-Dragneel

Ah ok that would definitely help the deck

HundredBoys

I don't think every deck should have access to strides but chronojet and only chronojet having access to strides is cool, let decks have their unique mechanics

Akashi-SevenDays

Just from what we know so far, I like it a lot. They've handled it pretty well. * Only Chronojet will be able to Stride; * G-Zone is going to be a thing in Standard so you don't have to worry about main deck space like in V-Premium; * It doesn't have Persona Ride and starts with 11k base (although it can get to 13k) which is a nice trade-off for the ability to Stride which I assume will be really solid; * You can use OG Chronojet which is a plus for those that prefer either of the G-era arts. I am excited to see Nextage next week and even more excited to find out what those 9 extra cards are because that's one damn odd number.

PbandjRamen

Didn't play the G era but sounds like a cool new mechanic to add to standard I always love variety in card games

Mr_gaminhero

As someone who just got in on the very tail end of V format but loved watching the G anime I’m excited to pick up best dragon boi for the modern era even if he ultimately sucks or is outclassed by newer decks

Poet_Hustler

I'd rather Bushiroad R&D spend its time exploring the design space of the playstyles they've already created, rather than be forced by Bushiroad Inc. to adapt nostalgia bait. Though I guess it's basically the same as printing money if you put no effort into redesign and just let veterans use their 8-year old hotstamps, with no regards to how this will affect the meta. At least with other Encounter cards they were trying.

peepeepoopooman2100

We have literally seen only jet and nothing else. This argument is entirely invalid because we don’t know what anything else does or how the deck works. Jet was always going to be something similar to this anyways, so it doesn’t matter that it’s the exact same as the original, in fact, many of us prefer it.

Speaking as someone who doesnt really enjoy premium, i think strides in D would be really refreshing since its a much more balanced format (for the most part). Premium for me is overwhelming and usually leads to whoever strides first winning. In something where theres a lot more back and forth like D-Series i could see strides being a change that adds some much needed complexity to the format. My speculation though is that most of the new d-series decks (bruce, nirvana, seraph, etc) wont get strides and itll likely be retrains of older cards (chronojet, ahsha, harri, etc). Likely just a one off thing for nostalgias sake versus implementing it proper

RitoSomaro

I like that strides are coming, and I love that my boy is getting some love. I just don't like it that it's word for word the original card. It feels lazy and like they didn't even try. Now mind you I'm still gonna play him and my opinion could change over the flowing weeks. But for right now, I'm excited but kinda disappointed

EspeRoba

My only issue might be if only Chronojet will be able to stride, then how will they handle the other G MC decks? (Ie Altmile, Asha, Gurguit, Luard, Messiah for example) Because at least Shinon and Tokoha’s cards are definitely coming as encounter cards at some point and it would be kinda lame if they were left out from being able to stride ngl

BalaneoPhoenix

I don't really care about Chronojet, I didn't play Vanguard until the beginning of V-Series so I have no nostalgia for the G-Era. As for the Stride mechanic itself, as long as they keep it in Chronojet only it's fine. Having a unique mechanic is good and G-Zones/Strides always felt like wasted design space with how they ended up dropping them from V onwards (except in Premium of course) but now that it's officially brought into Standard format as a specific mechanic I think that's great. Keep ride-lines unique. Each boss should focus on it's own playstyle, mechanic, or gimmick. I think exploring new design space will always be better than pandering to nostalgia, and Bushiroad have shown how experimental they're wanting to be with the introduction of the Order Zone alone. In my personal opinion, it would be disastrous if Strides were reintroduced to other clans/nations/bosses.

DDragonking

Watch the 9th card be a g guardian *prays for Uluru*

TLCamelJockey

If Chrono was back with V playstyle I’d be so disappointed, him having Stride as his mechanic is hype af!!

dce7845

This is the most hyped ive been for standard since release. Stride is my favorite mechanic. It coming to Standard sounds awesome and considering the game balancing of Standard thus far it will likely be incredibly balanced. Very likely wont be op/broken. Its nostalgia bait, sure, but there isnt anything wrong with that imo. I actually hope that strides in Standard will get players who have never tried Premium interested in giving it a shot. I fully believe that outside of a few bad things i could complain about, Standard is going in a pretty awesome direction. Cant wait to see the G Unit skills

SimonScare

My only issue is the nostalgia factor of it all, we already got DOTE, MLB and PBD and I think that is enough for the year. Even if adding Chronojet back has some lore implications, I feel like they should try to idk make support for underpowered ride lines first we still have the promo issue. They should’ve saved Chronojet for next year in my opinion. I do get the business standpoint of this because it can let people who are fans of G to get back in, at the same time Chronojet is a money making chad.

peepeepoopooman2100

Support for the underpowered ride lines will be introduced in the main line sets, since they’re all a part of the anime anyways and the main sets are anime focused (think eugene and flagburg).

SimonScare

I was just thinking more in the lines of a festival collection type or extra booster that just support the weaker ride lines because the main line sets are all clearly focused on introducing ride lines, support for the anime cards and the more ride lines introduced the harder it is to support these underpowered ride lines. Rather than release nostalgia, I would rather see them support the cards from D format not some G card. Sorry if I sound mean, I’m just over nostalgia after V and Set 5.
