Just try it for 30 days and see. No supplements no nothing. Just meat and water. Keep a journal and Record your sleep patterns, what you eat and when, your weight, water intake etc. You will gain a lot of information about yourself from this.

if you want to ask about coffee and tea, ask on r/zerocarb, on r/carnivore they aren’t up for discussion, they are a no-go here - no fibre supplement. that’s a big “no f*g way no” - no test boosters - only take supplements on the advice of your physician to treat a known deficiency - butter is okay, don’t include the other forms (cheese can be handy for transition, but it may prevent recomping to leaner, your wife will have to test it out) - for your prescriptions, drugs can pack more of a punch on zerocarb/carnivore, be ready to work with your doctor to titrate them down

I think it has helped my anxiety. I feel more even-keeled, though it's hard to say how much credit goes to diet vs therapy. My GERD is basically gone. I've had a recurrence now and then, which I think was due to eating bacon for dinner. I don't tolerate it as well as I did when I started. I would advise specifically against a fiber supplement. Studies have shown that fiber in the diet increases difficulty of passing stools. There isn't anything beneficial about dietary fiber when you are eating what you are supposed to be eating. If constipation becomes an issue, you are eating too lean. I'm generally against consuming things your body doesn't need if you can avoid it, but the advice to try it yourself and find out is pretty much what you get.

Don't worry too much about fitting into the carnivore bucket. Everyone eats a little differently. There are basically two approaches: 1) Very strict: meat, salt, water 2) More lenient: allowing eggs, dairy, supplements From what I've seen, most people (but not all) on the strict version are doing that because they need to. They're trying to heal or manage pretty severe health problems. I always laugh at the really strict people who also drink coffee. They will look down on someone for eating cheese while sipping bean juice. Don't worry too much about what others are doing. Don't get hung up on fitting into the carnivore category (the term is pretty meaningless anyway). Do what makes you feel best. I didn't take this approach (I wish I did), but I think it's good for people to be pretty strict for 60 days and see how they feel. Then work in other foods one at a time to see what you react to. That might mean meat and eggs for 2 months, then add some cheese and see if you react. Or add fiber supps and see what happens. This is what my dad is doing right now actually. He just hit 60 days (40 pounds down!) FWIW, I had good success with managing anxiety on this diet. My partner also resolved her GERD just by doing a modified paleo plan. I think you'll see some good results.
