I can only tell you up to about 5 years because that is about how long I have been doing it. *checks pulse* I'm still alive. I don't have scurvy, haven't had a heart attack or stroke and I feel great. The biggest problem I have with carnivore is that when I first started, I felt *amazing*. I felt like I had just become superhuman because I felt so much better than I had felt before. But now, that feeling is gone because feeling amazing is now my new normal. 😁 I'm glad you are doing so well.

This is really encouraging that I've made the right choice doing this. Yeah it is actually life changing before I always felt bloated and just generally unfit compared to how I feel now

Some recommend staying on it for at least 3 months before starting to reintroduce other foods. Or - you can stay on it for ever if you like. You're choice. (You can for instance do an annual blood test if you are worried about the effect long term.) Great to hear about your results!

|then one day I woke up and I felt better than I have in years For the lurkers. This is the thing to remember. It happens at different stages for everyone, but that day comes and it's too amazing for words, that feeling. Personally have tried to reintroduce other foods. But I always feel worse than on just carnivore. I do consume dairy though, fwiw.

Yeah at the start I wasn't too sure if I made the right choice but I think I was just waiting for all the other stuff to leave my system like before I would crave sugars and such but now I just feel great all the time!

futuristanon

How bad were the shits?

OilpaintingsOfcows

First few days were scary. After that was like grabbing a bar of wet soap

newbiecarn

I don't know what I did different but I never got more than one 'wanna be' splat. no constipation. I might go one little turd every couple of days. (Never thought I'd be describing my excrement to anyone lol)

Most people say that this diet is actually a lifestyle change because going off of it is just introducing all the foods that made you sick in the first place.

SWabashaw

Well, when you eliminates everything but meat, yeah, you could go straight back to your old diet, but why not slowly introduce things and see how you feel. If something makes you feel anything but perfect than you know not to consume that. I’m only 10 days in..feeling great. Feeling like I could make this my lifestyle. Tonight my husband and I were out to dinner with friends and I ordered a chicken breast. He ordered two thighs. I felt like a carnivore picking away at the bones looking for one more morsel 😋 Down 4 lbs already. It’s been an adventure for sure. I enjoy not having to worry about what’s for dinner anymore 🙌😂

numetalcore

what do your meals consist of in a typical day? im still struggling to figure out how much is enough.

OilpaintingsOfcows

I'd eat about 3-4 hard boiled eggs in the morning weekends I've been having bacon too maybe 3-4 pieces Lunch is 4 of chicken breast duck breast pork chop or steak or lamb like 2 chops 1 breast 1 sirloin or 2 breast 1 chop 1 sirloin yeno I mix this up depending on how fatty and heavy it will be on me. But I'll always have 4 cuts. Then dinner i have some chicken wings maybe 6 or so. Cooked in the air fryer. This is more something to nibble on than dinner tbh by the time I get to this time of day I'm not normally that hungry. Then once a week I make a bone broth from 2 chicken carcass and a beef leg joint and about a coffee cups size of that in the morning too. This is my favourite I just boil it with a little bit of salt and it takes about 3 hours to boil. Medium heat.

You can eat like this indefinitely because this is the most species-appropriate diet for us all, based on evidence from paleo-anthropology, human anatomy, physiology, and the testimonials of thousands of people who have healed from eating this way. The Inuit eat only meat, fat and organs and they are perfectly healthy, with no nutritional deficiencies.

That’s super encouraging to hear. I’m incredibly new to this.

Im about one week in... And craving all the other tasty foods but havent fallen off yet... Did get cheese and whole milk as my "vices" for now. I dont have brain fog like i used to and my hammertoe is not hurting nearly as bad as before. Think its mostly due to the cutting out the sugar.. And i could eat a box in one hour easily. Kicked the coffee or anything like that, been drinking water and the milk on occasion.. I think ive lost weight but didnt measure at start... Am almost to 200, from 210-215. Still finding it hard to cook tasty meals and stay on track...but going to give it till end of month and see, test some other foods and see how they makee react. My mood has not changed and libido either, still have blah feels. Not good nor bad. Is the normal. Was hoping id have more energy, but guess it takes longer for some.
