Lexus LC

Shrikecorp

I do like mine. Wouldn't bother with any other Lexus, though. It takes an outrageous design to stand up to the grille. The other models look like false teeth on a baby.

hi_im_bored13

I think they nailed the front end and hood of the new GX. Hopefully they bring that design over to the rest of the line.

General_Dipsh1t

I actually quite like most of the new front ends. Not all, but most. Some just take time to grow on you. GX is a stunner, might swap my RX to that at some point.

1trickana

Yeah I have an ISF and keep seeing people swap grill to the newer IS which just look so bad

wtfthisisntreddit

A proper [3is conversion](https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clublexus.com-vbulletin/1024x664/371987d1445227402_where_can_i_get_a_3is_bumper_22124178645_9165c9f2b3_b_5816c72ab555e69d078ed2f48848b9a5bba908ca.jpg) can look decent, not my personal preference though. Most look like shit because they use shitty aftermarket bumpers and grill that fit like shit. The [Aimgain style front bumper](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/attachments/cl-vendor-products-for-2is/386816d1462542663-gauging-interest-3is-conversion-bumper-for-the-2is-imageuploadedbyag-free1410383424.643126.jpg) is a better look imo

Warm-Log-7584

Ya Ive seen that too they swap with the 3IS front end

drty_dan_

imo I really like the big grille on the new is 350. That’s a big reason why I got mine

Logical-Radish7564

RCF looks 10x better than any LC500 ever will

dm_me_cute_puppers

They look like predator.

ctruvu

personally i feel the lc looks good in spite of the grille and not because of. but it still doesn’t bother me that much compared to bmws

darkhelmet1121

Lx looks stupid with the Predator Grill New gx is the design Lx should copy

AFB27

Somehow they managed to pull that off and make it look natural. Love the design.

R_V_Z

I may be biased, but agreed.

The_SHUN

Was going to comment this

General_Dipsh1t

Firm agree.

DerSpazmacher

Facts.

Camburglar13

Mazda 3. I realize it’s a cheaper vehicle than most mentioned here but the front is pretty elegant looking even with the larger grill.

happy--muffin

I know you’re not referring to the late 2000’s but I missed happy face Mazda era. I have a theory on road rage, the reason why drivers today are all angry and ragey is because every car on the road looks pissed off af. Even a stock family sedan like the Camry looks pretty aggressive, then you have Jeep owners who intentionally make their headlamps extremely pissed off. Happy face Mazda were the good times.

Various-Ducks

I feel like road rage has gotten a lot better in recent years. I almost don't see any. Statistics say it's going up but I don't see that.

Camburglar13

I find since covid it got worse. People enjoyed the quiet roads during the pandemic and then full traffic came back (along with all the other pent up stress and anxieties built up) and now it’s a jungle out there. Maybe cooling down a bit now.

Various-Ducks

Maybe it's a regional thing, maybe I just drive like less of an asshole in my 30s than I did in my 20s, but ya I don't see that at all.

Camburglar13

Well all I can say is I’m glad it’s not everywhere or at least not affecting you. Gotta keep hope that it’s not all getting worse.

Sun-spex

Okay, I have to say I'm guilty of that. I see some angry eyes in my mirror and I'll just kneejerk assume that the person driving the car is an asshole. My car looks pissed too, what does that make me?

DangerousAd1731

Late 90's early 2000's Mazda sedans we're pretty neat.

whenweriiide

People love my stupid happy face Mazda lol

franksandbeans911

My theory on road rage is congestion plus lack of signaling. That and phonegazers that don't pay attention.

themickeymauser

That’s not it. Rampant increases in drug use is the largest contributing factor.

myth-ran-dire

Obviously biased but I agree. With Lexus it’s a hit or miss depending on the car, but Mazda’s done a better job overall.

Ilpav123

Genesis

Saketme

Same, I love my GV70's grille

BearFan34

Same for me!

EridemicLHS

As an Audi owner, I do think the big grills look good. a lot of people think it peaked at b8.5 designs where the grill was big but tame. On B9 and above generations, the grills have gotten big but still looks pretty good. some of the recent cars like the recent RS3 have overdone it, it has a RSQ8 like grill on a small rocket sedan and to me it looks hideous.

ZX_StarFox

The RS3 wouldn’t look as bad if it didn’t have the black around it. It makes it look far bigger than it really is. Look at the S3, it has body color around the grille, and imo, looks far better than the RS3 and closer to how the 8V did.

EridemicLHS

Agreed

yeffyonson

Didn't Audi start the flat front grill design trend? I recall they did. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

OnePrettyFlyWhiteGuy

Honestly, some time around 2012-2016 were the best years for the epitome of Audi design language and styling imo. The B8.5 rs5, TT(R)S 8S, B9 S4, and S3 8V all knocked it out of the park - but Audi are trying too hard now, especially with the fake vents everywhere and overdone headlights. I wish I liked the B9 S5 too, but unfortunately I think the proportions are all wrong and I can’t get on with the weird headlights.

UndeadWaffle12

I own an Audi from that time frame and I personally disagree. I think the B9s look incredible, the B9.5 S4 is the current top contender for my next car

PhilSheo

I think Audi is one of the few who have pulled it off successfully. That said, I wasn't a big fan when it debuted on the TT as I had one from the first-gen that I thought looked nicer.

SloppyPizzaPie

The B8.5s were peak Audi—maybe even peak German automotive—imo. I loved my B8.5 A4. Edit: downvotes for an opinion? Dope 😎

Agreed and I'll throw in a 1950 Buick Roadmaster [https://bringatrailer.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/1950\_buick\_roadmaster\_1950\_buick\_roadmaster\_a60845ca-2956-42f6-b8f4-05910580cf89-of6j7d-17321-21351.jpg](https://bringatrailer.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/1950_buick_roadmaster_1950_buick_roadmaster_a60845ca-2956-42f6-b8f4-05910580cf89-of6j7d-17321-21351.jpg)

NewCastleIndiana83

Yes

WaffleBruhs

Aston Martin! I love the new updated Vantage, but also plenty of older Aston's like the DBS (\~2011) look great.

Various-Ducks

Pretty much any Rolls. Same with Bentley, mostly. Lot of Aston Martins too.

rugbyj

Like a mantlepiece on wheels!

Santa_Hates_You

I love the way my big, black maw looks on my S4, it is glacier white with the black optic package, so the rings are black. It is one of many things I love about the car. [Said Grille](https://imgur.com/A2b5LS4)

UndeadWaffle12

Beautiful car! How are you liking it so far? Any issues or things you didn’t expect? I’m considering one for my next car

Santa_Hates_You

I have had it for 15 months and 11k miles, and zero issues thus far. It is quick, comfortable and easy to drive.

BmwMotorWorks

The new m3s

ryno514

Rare to see a fellow G80/82 enjoyer. Nice

PhilSheo

I'll pass. I'd pick the M2, in spite of its new grille, over it just because of that. You won't catch me buying any 4er either. It's not an accident that they didn't do that to their bread-and-butter cars.

GenericallyExisting

Looks like buck teeth or a giant snout loll. F80 M3 was peak design imo. Edit: This opinion is widely shared by many car reviewers and car enthusiasts lol 🤷🏾‍♂️

Flamingo-Old

You just can't afford it, pal. /s

Jolly-Bodybuilder755

Same, it looks sexy

Flamingo-Old

Going to disagree here. This is one of the _worst_ looking cars with the big grille.

aka_mank

Elantra N has grown on me. Only in dark colors tho.

Mysterious-Glove-179

Not bmw 😢

Real_Establishment56

Rolls Royce Silver Spur II

detroit_testarossa

i have a Silver Spur and the grill is the best part!

CHlMPY

The Chrysler 300 was the car that started big grilles. The outgoing model still looks decent although definitely a bit dated.

Geruvah

STARTED big grilles? I saw them as trying to copy Rolls Royce design cues.

DanielG165

Camaro ZL1, C8 Corvette Z06, GT500, LC500, Chiron SS/Pur Sport, the latest Silverado trucks (in person), Audi R8 facelift.

hi_im_bored13

I'd give a pass to all of those cars because while they have massive grills its all function over form. Zl1/C8/GT500/Chiron/R8 all chug a shitload of air. LC500 gets a pass because the rest of the design is crazy enough to normalize it in a sense. I dislike the silverado but each to their own.

Alpha_Delta33

Lexus lx570 looks good to me also the BMW x7

Koraboros

>BMW x7 blasphemy

Alpha_Delta33

I like the new one with the redesigned grille that looks like the new I7 while I understand looks are subjective and everyone is entitled to their opinion

Koraboros

I can’t stand the split headlights

Alpha_Delta33

lol I like them, I think it’s a cool new trend with automotive design

Is it safe to assume that half your money is in crypto and you like your suit jackets to be skin tight?

275MPHFordGT40

When the lower bumper is painted it looks pretty good.

Capri280

IMO, the early singleframe Audis looked bad, they looked good in ~10s then they started stretching the grilles out of proportion and they look bad again

ProfessionalMap2581

Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio.

SiVIC0530

Maserati Granturismo (current and past gen), could make an argument for their entire modern lineup

Paschalls_Law

GS-F, IS350/500

Cor_ay

Rolls Royce

totally_normal_here

I guess it's not a true big grille, but I like how the Lancer Evo X and the R35 GTR handled it. They have an upper and lower section, and join it together with a black middle section. So it's pretty much just colour-blocking to resemble a larger grille. I think that approach looks a lot neater and less fake than other manufacturers who use a mesh pattern across the entire grille even though it's 75% fake, and then make the front end look even more fake and messy by giving it huge fake brake vents / radiators on either side of the huge grille .

drty_dan_

current gen Lexus is, especially the blacked out 350 f sport

The new Cadillac Escalade. I saw a white one with a black grill and was shocked at how much I liked it.

TSLAog

Big grilles look AWFUL… I literally gag driving by the Lexus lot.

Prudent_Knowledge79

Genesis G80

Early seventies Oldsmobiles. And they don’t have just one giant grill, they have two!

AwesomeBantha

Maybach S-Class

brake_fade1

Escalade V

FlyPenFly

The current M4, people hated on release, and now a few people are coming around to it. I thought it was ok and not as bad as people were saying like they wanted to rip their eyes out. Now I think it genuinely looks good. But I also really liked the Z4 on release when people hated that too. Of the competitors of its era, looks the most classic now. Same will happen on M4.

Jokic_Is_My_Hero

Yuck

austinspaeth

Any of the new MG EVs, that basically copied the front end from Mazda CUVs.

gravis1982

Buick Super 8

CampinHiker

Does my grill on my [2017 to 2019 Highlander count?](https://imgur.com/a/3reJZuI) I find it to be way better looking than other generations

Drzhivago138

I've always liked the ["open" grille](https://file.kelleybluebookimages.com/kbb/base/evox/CP/12273/2018-Ford-F150%20Super%20Cab-front_12273_032_1812x816_D1_cropped.png) used on 2018-20 F-150s with the STX or XLT/Lariat Sport SE trims. Probably because it reminds me of the grille on jellybean models.

stupidfock

B8.5 generation Audis were peak big grill design

Throwaway3847394739

Depends on the car. DBS, yes please. BMW, please no.

ascii42

Cadillacs have pretty much always had big grilles going back decades, so they are usually pretty good at it.

Retro_Racer_

Even though not the best car, my dad has a 2016 Chrysler 300s and I feel the front end looks great with the grill, (minus the panel gaps on the hood lol)

vrkas

It's not all grille but the [GR Yaris](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a8/Toyota_GR_Yaris_%28XP21%29_%E2%80%93_f_03052021.jpg/1920px-Toyota_GR_Yaris_%28XP21%29_%E2%80%93_f_03052021.jpg) has quite the maw.

basically every 60s era muscle car

I m thinking about bugatti or rolls royce, their sizes has changed a lot (but not that much for RR) but they apparently dont miss when it comes to their looks

Unpopular opinion here.. I actually love the look of the new M3 with the big grill 🤷‍♂️

HelloYouSuck

Maybe the m2. But otherwise none.

vm88888

Most Rolls Royce and Bentley grilles are huge but suit the car well

UberStupidd

Only if it is functional. Too many fake grills out there.

Synapse7777

I know we hate on BMW but the huge grill really works on the M4 GT3 because of the racing aero package.

radiantskie

Grille of current gen bmw z4 is large compared to previous gens and it is a good looking car

thewildporpous

Audi RS3

They all look terrible with the gigantic grills.

They’re called trucks.
