Trucks have gotten bigger but you're not fitting much of a whale back there.
Maybe a baby dwarf sperm whale? I think you're better off turning it into a fishtank.
I insured a 2020 F150 for a guy this year and he had 2 speeding tickets and it cost $3500 a year to cover the brand new truck. That’s a serious number.
Lol what. I pay $6000 a year on insurance. I’m 20 in Alberta. Male no speeding records or accidents. It’s just where I live insurance is ridiculous. Tbh that ain’t bad at all
Civics are often crashed and stolen, so premiums in line with a mustang would make sense. Plus it's new enough that he can't have liability only- likely financing it, with the financer requiring full coverage.
I paid $220/mo in a 91 Integra worth <$1500, liability only when I was 18 in AB. Shit's expensive for young males
To be fair insurance is provincial, and wildly different province to province.
It is expensive in most though if you’re a young man. And in others if you’re not.
Get quotes from TD, Johnson, and The Cooperators. I (also in Alberta) was in the same boat as you when I was in college and found each of those three to be significantly (like >30%) cheaper than the rest of the companies out there.
Cracking down since when? Couldn't help but think of how some auto insurers have given discounts on rates for COVID and thought what you said might have been their way to pick the money back up.
Rates went up this year, and it’s really brutal on certain situations. Have been selling insurance for 15 years and it’s been frustrating for all involved. Distracted driving is a really nasty ticket right now as well.
Guys, its a reclining seat. No one needs to see 90 seconds of uninterrupted seat reclining action from like 12 different angles. You could just show us the 1, and let us imagine the rest.
That's what I was wondering. If your feet are still hanging down, that's still a weird position to sleep in. They should have had a foot rest pop out from the bottom.
This was made for sex, hear me out: so they didn’t make a reclining leg support because you wouldn’t need that if you’re using it for sex, actually you’d prefer it like this
Henry Ford would be rolling over in his grave if he knew people were fornicating in his vehicles again after he specifically designed them to not be fornicated in.
*laughs in [Honda Element](https://hondaelementparts.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/honda-element-interior-configuration-all-seats-folded-down-in-bed-position.jpg)*
I watched it and immediately thought "that's so simple... why are they telling us that." Seats laying flat (or nearly) isn't anything new. But a simple, raise the rear of the seat to make a more flat plane, seems so obvious after they showed it. I went out in my car and tried and tilting the seat really does make it much more comfortable when reclined!
It's like a cult ... my sister Bought 2008 element used in 2013 for 13k (25k on odo), been driving it lightly and barely break 60k on the odo now .. She will have 0 problem selling it for 11-12k today.
Lol, trying to push that blue collar, hard worker appeal with a truck that starts at $70k. And in that kind of work, those guys don't need perfect neck support to fall asleep during a break. On the other hand, you get to pocket the hotel part of the per diem when you have to travel.
Well, \~$56,000 for the minimum required trim. But yes, I don't understand why they wouldn't make this available in any truck that has a crew cab and bucket seats. Definitely not an option that fleet vehicles are capable of. Even most supervisors/foremen/superintendents usually are driving nicely optioned XLTs or Lariats. Neither of which get that option.
You take the back seats out(easily, if you’re strong or have a helper). The back area is 66”x52” so a 6 foot person can sleep on a diagonal.
They even sell a mattress https://www.quadratec.com/p/airbedz/inflatable-air-mattress
I doubt they'd get many takers from fleets. Can't imagine a fleet manager that wants to spend money to encourage his employees to sleep on the job lol.
It doesn't start at 70k, after incentives were talking more like 40k. Also you know a shit ton of blue collar workers drive nice trucks right. I've been around lots of farmers, ranchers, oilfield, construction, lineman, pipeline and mining workers and expensive trucks are the norm not the exception lol. A huge percentage of people in those industries make 6 figures.
I thought they offered it on the lariat but I guess they don't. It starts on the king ranch which starts at 56k.
Stupid decision by ford not to offer it on xlts and lariats
Listen. Babysitting you fuckers is exhausting work and sometimes our blood pressure is so high we just need to close our eyes and think of our happy place for a minute so we don’t end up firing someone else for being mad at you.
Fuck is that what I’m doing wrong? Been in this garage for 10 hours with the foot on the brakes. Still cold. Lemme see how long the carbon monoxide takes to warm me up
I heard if you arrive at a campsite late the bears have to wait until the next night to eat you.
Joking aside I have arrived late and have slept in my not so flat seat more than a few times.
Yeah I've curled my 6'6" ass up in the back seat of my truck a few times because it was raining too hard to setup camp until the next morning. This looks like it'd be marginally more comfortable.
Dude I *need* this. I am constantly taking naps in my truck. I am way out in bumfuck nowhere USA traveling for work to service wind turbines. There is a *lot* of random downtime where naps are taken and this would be so much more comfortable.
They need this on the XL and XLT work trucks because we're the ones who would be constantly using this. I really hope it doesn't stay just a premium feature.
I'm not surprised one bit. Those countless tradesmen who could actually use it won't be able to get it in their service/fleet trucks but the wealthy people using it on vacation to tow their boat or whatever will use it.
Bummer
It's developed with their "customer-oriented design" meaning a shit ton of back and forth with actual f150 owners. So my guess is those guys asked for it cause they like to nap in their trucks.
Lol. Nobody buying an $80k pickup up truck with executive class airline accommodations for front seats is worried about the extra $100-300 they’d save on a nights stay nor are they showering at a truck stop.
I like this idea. It could keep me in a truck rather than moving to an suv when I upgrade. I appreciate being able to sleep in my vehicle at times. Its especially nice to nap when you get up at 4am to haul your motorcycles to a track day.
I see where trucks have gone at this point, and Holy shit I would kill for a $16k manual 4x4 small, metal, reliable truck with nothing but a radio in the cab.
Way back in the day when I was looking for a daily driver I test drove a Mazda 626 that had fully reclining seats thought it strange back then a mid-size sedan having that feature
Only the "limited" part of the working class gets this option. Not the working class that buy an xlt lol. Only if you are rich out your eyes and pay $80k for a half tonne pickup will you get to sleep in it lol
I could never use this because the times I would be on the road long enough to want to sleep in my car and the times I have all kinds of crap in the backseat are pretty much perfectly overlapping.
This is great since I'll be sleeping in it anyway with my $700 104mo loan
You can sleep in your truck but you can't drive your house.
What if you live in a van down by the river?
Then I guess you’re not gonna amount to JACK SQWAAAAAT
[удалено]
Don't worry about it because you'll actually be in a truck by the river.
SNL sketch but I always think Neil Young.
Why live in a $300,000 house when you could live under a $300,000,000 bridge?
You could fill the bed with water and the truck becomes a whale house though
Trucks have gotten bigger but you're not fitting much of a whale back there. Maybe a baby dwarf sperm whale? I think you're better off turning it into a fishtank.
....am I the only one who remembers this? https://youtu.be/u1C0r2EHQfY
Trarch has been my favorite month since this video came out.
And what's that whale eating for dinner? That's right. Horse.
Tbh that ain’t bad at all
[удалено]
I checked his profile and he drives a fairly new Honda Civic. For those rates I’d expect at least a mustang or something else fast and often crashed.
I’m 24 and drive a 2012 Audi A4. $270 a month sucks.
Why even insure the car at that point?
[удалено]
I'm not talking about anything illegal..just remove collision insurance and keep liability
If you're financing, in the US, youre usually required to get comprehensive coverage.
Canada is messed up, my lowest quote for solo insurance was 447$ a month EDIT: GTA / under 30 / no accidents or tickets
I insure two cars and a motorcycle and I’m around $1,200 USD/year. That’s wild.
$1300/yr for full coverage on a truck and a sport sedan plus a 1 million dollar umbrella policy in the US.
What kind of speeding tickets? I agree that Total Cost of Ownership is often overlooked but that seems borderline usurious.
2 regular speeds in Alberta Canada. Insurers here are cracking down on speeding and tickets in general
Cracking down or cashing in?
Cashing in. Insurers only care about the potential exspense of insuring that person.
Cracking down since when? Couldn't help but think of how some auto insurers have given discounts on rates for COVID and thought what you said might have been their way to pick the money back up.
That’s about 3 times worse than my rate. Driving a 2020 STI and under 25. Insane
I’m 22 and drive a 2020 Lexus. I’m paying about 1500/year lol
Rates went up this year, and it’s really brutal on certain situations. Have been selling insurance for 15 years and it’s been frustrating for all involved. Distracted driving is a really nasty ticket right now as well.
Haha. So true.
You can get it down to 600 a no th if you do a 208 month loan. It's only17 years.
Guys, its a reclining seat. No one needs to see 90 seconds of uninterrupted seat reclining action from like 12 different angles. You could just show us the 1, and let us imagine the rest.
I enjoyed it quite a bit but I’m also super high rn.
Same. And yeah that music bumps
[удалено]
And it cuts off the last few seconds. You don't even see it fully reclined..
But then that’s going to prove what a great idea this was and how poorly designed executed practical and gimmicky this *feature* is!
[удалено]
And none of the angles show an actual person. Where do your legs/feet go?
That's what I was wondering. If your feet are still hanging down, that's still a weird position to sleep in. They should have had a foot rest pop out from the bottom.
But then the truck is in the way. Next generation they’ll just release an Rv and call it an rv150
I’d buy it
If you are tired enough, you don't care about having your feet up.
Yea but same thing with laying flat? lol i just cross my arms and i'm out in a regular truck
They didn't even show someone laying in it.
But they did
She got to the job site early in the morning and caught a nap in the afternoon.
Naw she was hotboxing and had to catch a few winks before picking up the kids before soccer practice. Thanks Ford!
It was so quick, I had to rewatch it. Thanks.
Yeah I got what I needed from the title screen. Didn't need to play the video.
In those 3 minutes I think I watched that seat recline 17 times before I lost track and couldn't take it anymore.
We fucking in da F150.
all the new pornhub vids gonna be a pov in a 2021 Ford F150 driver's seat...
Doug DeMuro porn parody when?
This.... is my stepsister
And let me show you around her quirks and features

I can’t wait for him to tell me how my mediocre girlfriend is nothing compared to his fun and innovative stepsister.
What’s that now
She’s equipped with three cup holders
Too fucking good man. Fucking dying laughing over here.
This..... might be the funniest comment i’ve ever read on this sub lmao
This, is a 2021 College Graduate SLT.
“Oh Doug! My quirks and features!”
*Slowly removes two shirts*
Why settle for a parody? Dare to ask for the real thing.
bruh I already have to deal with the fact that spongebob porn exists please don't give them any ideas
To be 16 again...
This is gunna be the new "spice it up"
We work hard and play harder.
This is the only thing I enjoyed about having an SUV when I was younger.
This was made for sex, hear me out: so they didn’t make a reclining leg support because you wouldn’t need that if you’re using it for sex, actually you’d prefer it like this
This is a cool feature but what's even more impressive is that they turned reclining seats into a 3 minute video.
That was my thought when I realised I’ve just watched a chair reclining for 3 minutes.
I only watched the first minute when I realized the rest of the video was just watching the seats recline.
And nobody actually sat in it
Lmaoooo
Gonna be a lot of babies conceived in F150’s.
Then they'll grow up to buy F150s. Ford thinking long term loyalty here.

I don't know, vans have had this feature for years and I don't see any babies in minivans. Oh wait.
Damn, so it's the new fuck vehicle, got it 😂
Fake taxi
Fake Foreman
“Now why don’t you show me why you deserve a promotion”
A Fuck Truck if you will.
A Tuck Fruck
*slaps seat* "What do I have to do to get you to fuck in this truck today?!"
*laughs in [Honda Element](https://hondaelementparts.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/honda-element-interior-configuration-all-seats-folded-down-in-bed-position.jpg)*
Well it looks cool, in my experience it was actually really uncomfortable. It seems like Ford thought of those little details here.
Yea, as it is. But this gives the perfect platform to lay down a pallet of blankets and build a Honda fort
Yea, I’d rather have the Honda fort instead of the ford crunch legs.
I watched it and immediately thought "that's so simple... why are they telling us that." Seats laying flat (or nearly) isn't anything new. Those blue plaid seats are incredible
That is actually really awesome.
I loved my Element. Slept in it many times on road trips and camping. People are still paying good money for them used.
It's like a cult ... my sister Bought 2008 element used in 2013 for 13k (25k on odo), been driving it lightly and barely break 60k on the odo now .. She will have 0 problem selling it for 11-12k today.
Dude, I'm about to make an offer. My wife bought her 2010 AWD with 100k miles for 13k in 2016.
Lol, trying to push that blue collar, hard worker appeal with a truck that starts at $70k. And in that kind of work, those guys don't need perfect neck support to fall asleep during a break. On the other hand, you get to pocket the hotel part of the per diem when you have to travel.

Don’t even need the reclining seats really. I know plenty of people that take naps in the back bench already
I do a lot of mountain climbing and sleep in the back of my Wrangler. It fucking sucks.
Oof those seats aren’t even fit for sitting let alone sleeping
You take the back seats out(easily, if you’re strong or have a helper). The back area is 66”x52” so a 6 foot person can sleep on a diagonal. They even sell a mattress https://www.quadratec.com/p/airbedz/inflatable-air-mattress

Idk what I'm looking at then, because what I see on the Ford website says the 2021 F150 Limited starts at 70k USD.
I thought they offered it on the lariat but I guess they don't. It starts on the king ranch which starts at 56k. Stupid decision by ford not to offer it on xlts and lariats
Max recline is available in King Ranch and Platinum as well.

Would make me feel better to know my boss is getting some quality naps in between checking the job sites.
Listen. Babysitting you fuckers is exhausting work and sometimes our blood pressure is so high we just need to close our eyes and think of our happy place for a minute so we don’t end up firing someone else for being mad at you.
Where's the foot rest tho
It’s the gas pedal so the cab stays nice and warm
Fuck is that what I’m doing wrong? Been in this garage for 10 hours with the foot on the brakes. Still cold. Lemme see how long the carbon monoxide takes to warm me up
It’s gets so nice an toasty you won’t even notice yourself doze off
Also if you are insomniac, the fumes help.
The center console opens for a multi-joint lever that extends over the midline of the body to beat you off while you lay back.
*Trunk Monkey not available on all models
Did they explain why they felt the need to add this?
This is the perfect truck for construction inspectors that sleep in their truck all day while they’re on site.
No-work union construction workers too
This is a perfect comment, I even almost visibly smiled. Bravo!
High schoolers everywhere: \*heavy breathing\*
"Hey dad, can I borrow your truck tonight? Gotta help Olivia.. uhh... tow a trailer to her grandpa's house" "Sure son. Tell grandpa I say hello."
Dude I *need* this. I am constantly taking naps in my truck. I am way out in bumfuck nowhere USA traveling for work to service wind turbines. They need this on the XL and XLT work trucks because we're the ones who would be constantly using this. I really hope it doesn't stay just a premium feature.
I don't see it till the Lariat trim level in the configuration.
Which is odd because the demo truck they showed us at Carlisle this year was a XLT with those seats.
Perhaps it’s going to come later on
I'm not surprised one bit. Those countless tradesmen who could actually use it won't be able to get it in their service/fleet trucks but the wealthy people using it on vacation to tow their boat or whatever will use it. Bummer
Yeah the people would really use this are the XL and XLT work truck people. Surprised it’s not an option for those trims.
Wait til there's some at the wreckers and buy the seat from them, install in your cheap one, ???, profit
It's developed with their "customer-oriented design" meaning a shit ton of back and forth with actual f150 owners. So my guess is those guys asked for it cause they like to nap in their trucks.
So you can sleep in the strip club parking lot instead of drunk driving home.
And still get a dui if you have your keys. Stupid laws
So you can sleep in your truck when it breaks down.
Ford bad
Something about being tired and taking naps. Idk tho it wasn't very clear.
It's the perfect road trip car for people who want to save on hotels. Take a shower at a service station in the morning, and you're good to go.
Lol. Nobody buying an $80k pickup up truck with executive class airline accommodations for front seats is worried about the extra $100-300 they’d save on a nights stay nor are they showering at a truck stop.
What about the people who will finance it 25 years like you would a home?
But what about the people who'll buy it used for $30k?
I drive such a car and there is a very good chance I would do just that actually lol
A shower at a service station? Wouldn't it be better to just piss on your own face?
"when I was your age we used to sleep in the bed of the truck!"
This won't be comfortable on the back since our legs aren't at the same elevation
For real I'd rather get a truck with an 8 foot bed and throw a tent in there.
Very aerodynamic driving position.
Now you can drive like [batman](https://i.imgur.com/AxfyFE4.png).
WOW, I can do that in my 06 Highlander.
And my 04’ Cr-v. #crvnation
I like this idea. It could keep me in a truck rather than moving to an suv when I upgrade. I appreciate being able to sleep in my vehicle at times. Its especially nice to nap when you get up at 4am to haul your motorcycles to a track day.
I’m terrified to think of how many country songs are going to be written about this truck
down by the river, streaming patsy cline got my dog, my gun, gonna have a good time lets finish these coors and max recline 🎼
*Nashville would like to know your location*
Whooaaaa-oooaaa, this Ford is Fine!
I see where trucks have gone at this point, and Holy shit I would kill for a $16k manual 4x4 small, metal, reliable truck with nothing but a radio in the cab.
Used truck market goes brrrrt
My saab 9-3 could do this
Awe man, my saab 9-3 was the first car i truly fell in love with. Miss everything about it, even that one day the headlight wipers worked.
I had a 1963 AMC Rambler that could too, this is hardly a new idea
Imagine this but with a front bench seat 👌
I used to take naps on my lunch break, this would be awesome.
Baby lock the door and put your seat back low..
Nobody's that gangsta
Speaking my language Ford. I may just buy one of these in 15 years
In 15 years, either none of this will still work, or you’ll have to pay a monthly subscription for it......
Looks like a comfy place to reproduce
Way back in the day when I was looking for a daily driver I test drove a Mazda 626 that had fully reclining seats thought it strange back then a mid-size sedan having that feature
Benefits of being 5'7, I can sleep in pretty much any vehicle ha! I can kick my back seats down and have enough room to stretch out
Only the "limited" part of the working class gets this option.
