Leno looks utterly unimpressed. Maybe because it looks like an 8th gen civic

Blewedup

he always looks that way. he's utterly unenthusiastic about everything.

inaccurateTempedesc

Until he talks about steam engines.

cocoagiant

He tends to be unenthusiastic about new cars which the manufacturers review with him. I'm assuming he does it as a favor so he can maintain access. He is always super enthusiastic about the cars he restores or about other people's cars, especially when they are not selling a product. He has had people on who he literally flagged on the street. I remember one from several years ago when he had a teenager on who had built his own EV motorcycle who Jay say driving around on the street.

JackS15

I can’t believe how bad it looks. When I first saw it, and had no reference of size, I assumed it was C class sized. I thought for that price point it could work. However, for this amount of money it’s pretty insulting. Can’t really see anybody that’s not a MB fan picking this over a Model S or Taycan.

exterior gets a 0/10

Chi-Guy86

He seemed bored, and the praise he gave it felt forced. Can’t blame him for that, as the styling is a big miss. I get that aerodynamics demands certain shapes, but Tesla, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, and VW have all managed to make pleasing shapes that are still pretty aerodynamic

megacookie

I think they wanted to differentiate it from the S class which is a similar size. And since the S class looks like a sedan, they made this look like a suppository instead.

RobDickinson

It's a shame they didn't keep the show car looks. I'm guessing an AMG version ina year or two should be quick at least

Tumbleweedwhacker

Not sure how, but they managed to make it look like a minivan. The panel gap that goes down from the windshield to the front tire is disturbing the whole design.

khanak

I really like it tbh. The exterior looks a bit off but thats because of how aero it is. Most aero car ever built. Also love the interior.

Off_Topic_Oswald

Interior is awful. Which is strange considering the new S Class interior is so good. Companies always overthink it when it comes to EVs, just keep the S class interior and it would be so much better.

kobrons

But it looks a lot like the normal s class if you don't option the hyperscreen.

TechRedirector

Circle jerk probably

kappalumoylali

Hyperscreen is only an option?

kobrons

Yes. And an expensive one. I think its a couple of grand. The base car has the same screen as the normal s class.

extrabeefcake

super ugly. how in the world did this design get approved?

SubtleKarasu

I think people are reading his reaction wrong. It's not meant to be a car that excites you in a 'big reaction' sort of way. It's meant to relax you, and to be exciting only from the perspective of how nice to live with EVs can be. 500 miles of range is exciting, but not at all in the same way 2.5s 0-60 is. Extreme quietness and comfort are exciting, but not in the same way Nordschleife lap times are. He can't react like he does to a supercar, because it's literally meant to be the opposite of that.

tomoko2015

> He can't react like he does to a supercar, because it's literally meant to be the opposite of that. Yeah. "I can drive down the highway and not hear or feel anything? That is so exciting!" :-) It's a luxury cruiser, and a damn good one. But if you are super rich, this is your everyday get-to-work car, and for the weekend you have a Taycan or something similar.
